Hi,

Launcher updates and the download works fine. I hit play. Just before it goes to my character select screen my computer restarts. Computer boots up and pulls up the option to start windows in safe mode.

I recently checked all my drivers using the "Driver tuner 3.5.0.0" program which states that all my drivers now are up to date. It did not fix the problem.
Please help.

I am a acomputer dummy so please go easy on me and be overly clear about what to do...

Here is ssome stats about the computer a friend said you might need?

Qosmio x770
Microsoft home window premium 64bits
Toshiba
intel(R) Core (TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz (8CPUs), 2.0GHz
8192MB RAM
DirectX 11

I own a Qosmio X770 - you may find this interesting - http://forums.computers.toshiba-euro...t=210&tstart=0

Now as to your current issue which AV/Firewall are you using ?

Try a clean boot first - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

Ok, tried the Clean reboot. It did not help. Still crashing/reboot. Thank you for the tip though!

Any other ideas?

Are you using the Toshiba Driver or the Nvidia Drivers ?

It maybe Avira - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=596065 not sure if it is related but possible. if your willing uninstall it as a test, and either put it back straight after or use something like http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/w...tials-download

Launcher.exe and Swtor.exe both need to be added as exceptions in Antivirus and the Firewall.

Also Which Bios version are you running ?

All Windows updates are done ?

The last person I saw with this did a workaround by lowering the clock on the video card, this is more masking the cause in my view though - http://www.swtor.com/community/showt...507#post749507

Try the below as well just in case

•Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time. (The [Windows] key is the key with the Windows icon on it)
•Copy the following in to the text box and press ok: %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings
•Open the client_settings.ini file and ensure the following are displayed within, or edit/add if so required:
•Fullscreen = false
•D3DFullScreen = false
•RefreshRate = 60

•Save and close the file.
•Start the game as normal.
•Change graphic settings within the game as desired.

Apologies I wont get a chance to look again until tomorrow now. (GMT+10 for me)

I dont know. I read somewhere that thecomputer is supposed to switch between Nvidia and intel graphic but I am far from understanding how it works.

Can I check this somehow?

I opened the notes file and found it completely blank. Is this a problem? Should I write what you wrote above in it?

Alright, some progress here.

I tried to open the Nvidia Control panel and the computer rebooted just like when I tried to play the game.

So I figured the problem has something to do with the Nvidia Geforce graphic card.
In a moment of courage I uninstalled all Nvidia Geforce from the computer and now the game starts and run as it should. Hence, the issue had something tio do with Nvidia.

The current graphic settings are however horrible and I have to keep Graphics at a minimum for the game to run properly.

Can I reinstall Nvidia Geforce somehow? Ideas?

What is the exact X770 model , I just want to compare it to mine before I recommend a course of action.

I myself use the Nvidia Driver from www.nvidia.com as Toshiba are terrible with driver updates , I want to confirm that you can use the same.

It says Model name:
TOSHIBA QOSMIO X770 -10U

Is that enough or do you need more data?
