Here's one surprising thing that devs can't seem to wrap their heads around: Sure the actual amount of people gaming on Macs may be low, but in MMO land, what about all those Mac users friends? If I am a guild leader of a 600 person guild in WoW (which I am) and a Mac user, I may not be inclined to bring over those 600 users to start a guild in a new game. This, in fact, is precisely why our guild never went over to Rift when that game launched.

So that one Mac user they choose not to make the game for could, in fact, mean a huge mass of lost potential subs for them... Which in turn leads to less word of mouth users to pass good info around.

Honestly, devs really have to wake up and start recognizing this.

Yeah dude, I'm pretty sure that anyone that wants to game online isn't sitting at home hopelessly waiting for all games to go mac compatible so they can play with their friends... they've bought real computers in stead.

Or they play WoW... Which doesn't alienate potential customers...

Your best hope is 500 bucks on a respectable desktop that's probably about as powerful as your silly little Macintosh that you spent 2000 bucks on

Otherwise, you're SOL

Again you can hate all you want. The purpose of buying the Mac wasn't for gaming. Oh well Boot Camp is almost done so it doesn't matter. Thanks for the info from the informative people and thanks for the hating from the other people., you kept my thread alive

That would of mean't something when they were still using the PowerPC architecture and Intel / AMD were behind in the game.

If they were really his friends they'd have talked him into buying a real computer. Friends don't let friends use Mac's.

Bootcamp or Parallels, that's all I can say. I have a Mac for college (I didn't pay for it and it's more mobile than my PC) and switching to Windows via bootcamp is the only way I can play some non-Mac supported Steam games when I'm out of the house and waiting for something.

EA only recently opened Origin to the Mac, but for the game they are trying to kill, I wouldn't hold my breath, unfortunately.
