AOE attacks no longer preventing node captures?

I have searched for this and have not found any results, so I will ask myself. Do aoe attacks, like inquisitor Lightning Storm, interrupt captures or not? I just left a ACW match where I was dropping lighting storm on the node and the other team captured it anyway, through the attack. I have seen this happen with my Sniper's orbital strike several time in recent weeks as well. Are these attacks no longer preventing captures? How can someone continue to gain control if they have lightning raining down on them?

Then explain how I just watched a capture happen through my aoe. Several times lately I have seen this. Not just my attacks but others. All in ACW.

Yes yes they do and are the best way to hold a point when you have multiple enemies on your own.

saw this last night in a voidstar. it was kinda weird.

there were 4 aoe on the door, and the sorc's cast bar just kept on going.

not sure if it was a graphic bug or if it would have actually capped. never found out since we just killed him before the timer finished.

Haven't had a problem with voidstar aoe not working, but in civil war I was capped on while doing aoe then in another game was able to cap while aoe was done on me.

How it works is if the enemy is EXACTLY opposite you on the node, the aoe doesn't hit them. But that's just civil war.

Did they take out insurance on this game? I love it but its so weird.

^ This

Happened to me once, I was embarrassed....happened twice I was curious....hasn't happened a third time because I don't take the chance anymore. I just make sure I am covering the back side of the area with my AOE rather than assuming it's hitting them from my placement on or in front of the node, even though it looks like it should be hitting them.

Best bet though, if you use force storm and you still see the beam coming from them, stop move and hit them with something else if there is time. If there is no time, take a deep breath and win the node back with your team and remember how to work around this. (Not saying it's acceptable but it is what it is) It happens at the center node more than the sides but has happened on sides as well. I see people say something on my team about it here and there. For me, I've had the same problem and understand. Good luck!

The turret blocks LoS in Civl War, so you want to place the AoE off to the side so it will "reach around" and hit the capper.

this is true. it's like LoS works on the AoE as well.

i've never seen it on a voidstar door though. do you think he could have had resilience popped or something else that would have prevented him from taking the damage

in my experiece it works %100 when used before the cap starts, and about %50 to stop mid caps, i dont use it anymore and rely on shock, FL or overload to stop caps. It really sucks when you get the cast off and see dmg tick while the cap bar fills up
