I have managed to get every other slot in binds to legacy gear, but I have a bad habit of ending up with focuses and generators as loot that is Bind on Pickup that I need to transfer to another character.

Only the Gree vendors have an off hand BoL item AFAIK.

Btw, if you're talking about transferring mods and barrels and such from character to character(not level 50/55 stuff, but level 29/47/15 stuff), these mods are not bound to off-hand items, so you can easily transfer them in a legacy pilot set, or a legacy lightsaber/pistol from a Nar Shaddaa casino event. Provided that your other alt already has an orange BoP focus/shield/off hand, of course.

Just to clarify the level 55 transferring of mods, enhancements, hilts, etc.

 

It is true that mods and enhancements are interchangeable. A helm mod can be put into a boot. But, armourings, if stripped from a tier-piece, are tied to that item type. An armouring from a glove can only be placed in another glove. Hilts and barrels are the same. An offhand barrel or hilt cannot be placed in a mainhand weapon. Finally, the armouring in a generator or shield can likewise only be placed in an offhand item.

 

BoL gear is becoming far more common. The pistol and lightsaber from the Casino event should be both mainhand/offhand (I bought 'em without looking to be honest as I have others). The bounty hunter event has BoL weapons. There is a tech sword on Czerka. (I think it is a tech sword, I bought it to transfer something particular but no longer recall what). Offhand focus, generator and shields though can only be bought from the Gree vendor. And as Kulyok pointed out, that returns late July. I think you need 8 of the Gree comms to buy 1 of those BoL items. The Gree also have BoL pistols, rifles, cannons (I think), sabers and armour. There are also numerous vendors and drops of BoL armours. A BoL knife may be Gree or can be done using the Czerka sword (I am pretty sure).

A slight error there. Actually, ANY Purple Armoring, Barrel or Hilt that requires lvl 50+ becomes bound to the piece it's equipped to. That included purple Crafted ones.

 

Czerka actually sells a Vibro sword, which take Hilts.
