I have specialised in archaeology, synthweaving and underworld trading with my sage.

I seem to have hit a brick wall.

 

I send off my companion for archaeology, he can only recover colour or power crystals, then he goes underworld trading and brings back luxury silks.

 

When it comes to making the armour with synthweaving, it is only the same armour pieces. A couple of heavy, a couple of medium and a couple of light. I have made them all and I actually dont need to use anything other than power crystals to do that.

 

I'm not sure what else I am supposed to do? I have been the all three trainers and they have nothing to tell me!

you need to reverse engineer the stuff you make to get more recipes which will use the rare silks you get.

You can get news schematics in three ways :

 

1. Reverse Engineering stuff you craft (click Reverse Engineering button in inventory, then click on an item you've made), for a chance at an improved schematic.

2. Gaining skill and talking to your Synthweaving Trainer.

3. Rarely from Underworld Trading, or from GTN/HCN.

 

The blue silks (and rare metals) are used to make 'blue' schematics, such as the ones you get from reverse engineering.

 

I think the color crystals you can't use, so trade them to Artificers.

Personally I wouldn't RE anything while leveling up, it seems to be a waste of credits. I use the recepies I can buy from the vendor and that works well for me, though I have Artifice and not Synthweaving, so ymmv.

if you re what you make and get some decent recipes you can often use up all of those mats you just leveled past and sell some lower level stuff for a decent profit. remember its not about making a ton of credits on every sale but on keeping a nice profit margin.
