wagnerloeher
Is it possible to have same-gender romance with our companions (for instance, making a female imperial agent and achieving romance with Kalyio)? If not, when will it be implemented?
makallitank
I only started this game a week ago, but from what I can tell, same-gender romance is not in. It seems like they are working on it, and do intend on having it in-game, but it is taking a while. Personally, it's something I would love to see, as I think it would enhance my personal gameplay experience.
Tatile
Nothing with companions as of yet and Bioware has given us literally no word other than the State of the Game Address #2, which said "it's really hard". We've got a thread going in Story and Lore about it and there are up-coming [Flirt]s with the Bounty Hunter Event Week and there are mini-romances in the Makeb expansion, but thus far Bioware are restricting M/M [Flirt]s to the Imperial side, whereas F/F [Flirt]s are available in both factions. We don't know if Bioware intends to add SGRAs to existing companions, though many people think they should and Bioware is, at the moment, flat out ignoring this conversation, almost as if [Flirt]s are equivalent. But, yeah, sorry :/ No love for Kaliyo (even though she's canon bi.)
mistformsquirrel
Same Gender Romance is something that was promised as a post release feature back when the game launched... it's still not here sadly. The closest we have are some same gender flirt options on Makeb. I'm very much hoping this will change in the future though.
wagnerloeher
This is SUCH a pity, means I'll take quite a while to try female chars (and listen to their voices), I understand it must be expensive and hard to produce such broad range of option to all character classes and stories, but it's been promised since the beggining, no? How many more years can it possibly take? I'm afraid I'll try female chars after I managed all romances possible then. Good luck to us all, thanks for replying. Tatile
I like to think that the 'hard' part is making the quest lines available at the same point as the OGRA's as well as allowing backwards compatibility for those of us who played the damn game while being forced to wait, but it's far more likely to be "how can we make this appeal to the Straight Male Gamer"/"how can we not alienate the Straight Male Gamer", because it's fairly obvious that's who Bioware:Austin's aimed group are
senkaxx
There isn't a same-gender romance per say, but there are same-gender flirt option on Makeb.
LordShanon
I wish BioWare would just come out and say "Sorry, we're NOT going to implement this EVER". There are so many players who have been pleading for this feature to be released in game for a few years now. BioWare, are you going to release a same sex romance option and if so when? Page from Blizzard: Yes. Soon™ Would you rather they get it right or do it half-assed? Deadlines are not conducive to getting it right. The launch of SWTOR is proof of that; EA set a deadline, forced it on BioWare, and the game launched before it was finished/ready. And BioWare has been playing catch up ever since. Tatile
It would be pleasant to know how they consider the future of aforementioned content, considering the stopping of class story content and the move to more "generic" (whatever that means?) story content. Kurzaa
I wouldn't call it same-gender romance, but did my first few bounty hunter event missions last night and both my jedi and inquisitor had same-gender flirt options in the dialog. My sith didn't get very far however.

More than a year for Makeb SGRs, and those were the very definition of half-assed.....
Kurzaa
I hope never, because kids play this game and i dont think carpet munchers or fudge packers make a good act to follow for the little ones, I have nothing against gays but please keep that **** to your self. As a straight male, I have absolutely no problems with female-female interaction. I get exactly where they are coming from, and all of my characters have been flirting with the ladies during bounty hunter week. As for guy on guy, I don't understand how one guy could love another, but I am completely for same-sex marriage. Why shouldn't they be as miserable as the rest of us :-) Besides, the "romance" in the game is easily PG-13 if not PG. There is more sexual endow in a Disney flick. Finally, if you really didn't have anything against homosexuality, you wouldn't use such "derogatory" terms as you did. Just as you might not like the thought of same-sex romances in the game, others might not like the thought of their kids having romance options in a video game at all...should they remove that from the game? Kids are also exposed to drinking, "casinos", and Twilek strippers. Maybe we should remove that from the game as well?

Why is that? is it because you think two girls making out is hot and attractive? As for how you dont undertand how two men can love each other, if a guy and girl can, and in your opinion a girl and girl can, why cant 2 guys? To be fair, he seems to be expressing personal preferences, followed up by an affirmation that gay people have the same rights as anybody and then admonishing somebody for using insulting terms to refer to gay men and lesbians. I don't see much of a problem with that.

I don't see much of a problem with that. I think this. If you are going to add female-female romance, you have to add male-male romance. Which lets face it, in this game consists of same-sex hand holding. As for real-life, I was a big fan of Will and Grace, but I have no intention of seeing Broke Back Mountain. However, much as I enjoy the twilik dancers and holograms, why don't the ladies / gay men have any...I don't know, Sith...holograms and dancers to watch? Daggershade
I have a female trooper and I don't want to remake male since I am almost level 50 and I don't want to romance Aric cause he is frankly a jerk and not a very likeable character in my opinion, I figured I would give him a chance but It is hard to want my character to romance him... I would much rather have her romance Elara, I like her character. I'd say either let the female trooper romance Elara or give her a romance that doesn't seem to have a bad temper.
