I pressed "reset decorations in room" thinking it would remove decorations from one small area. Instead, over half of the decorations in the guild stronghold were removed.

 

Is there a way to rollback the change?

Afraid not there is no backup or template you can save or load from. That button is only useful when you want to empty a SH or ship out. Sometimes it picks up a room other times it clears the place out.

I feel your pain! I once inadvertently destroyed hours upon hours of decorating time by clicking on the reset button. That button is dangerous. it should be highlighted in red with a do not touch sign attached to it.

Yes, that function works best when there is an actual room, with a door, such as the rooms off the balcony in the Tattooine SH, or many of the rooms in Coruscant & D.K., etc.

As you have discovered the area "limits" are very vaguely defined in more open areas.

Oh wow, sorry to hear that happened to you. It happened to me with my Yavin 4 stronghold a few years back.

 

It's a known "bug". They have never fixed it. Maybe it's time we start a new bug thread and get it back on their radar.

 

I've always wished they would make a way to Save and Load Layout in strongholds. That way, we could play around with different themes, have a holiday set up, and so forth. Of course, that would require them to employ the decoration inventory independently for each stronghold (like they do with pets, mounts, companions, etc). But it would be awesome!
