And now when you sellect an item from a vendor or inventory, it compares it too what you have equiped and what your companion has. I am not sure why they removed that but it's not really needed. Edit: I guess it wasn't removed. I know one of my companions didn't have a listing for weapons or armor certification last I looked. I think it was DOC.
