AuroraKet
I was wondering if there was a comprehensive guide to space missions somewhere. I'm not quite 'new', but found new optional objectives on Fondor, Javaal, and Balosar, just last night. So it appears each space mission has two optional objectives to be unlocked. Fondor: Primary: Escort Shuttle to Safety Secondary: Destroy enemy Fighters (original) Destroy 20 Enemy Turrets (second) Javaal: Primary: Destroy Mk VII Interceptors and Infiltrator ship Secondary: Destroy Fighters and Turrets (original) Destroy 10 Shield Generators (Expose Fleet) (second) Balosar Outpost: Primary: Destroy 12 turrets, 2 shield generators, 3 hangars, 3 antennas Secondary: Destroy 60 fighters (original) Neutralize Defenses: Destroy 20 enemy frigate turrets, destroy all 4 defense satellites. (second) BIG BONUS (once a day, 500 XP After): Destroy comm array on bottom of station (not recommended without grade 3 missile mag and possibly power converter, takes ~20 missiles as per post later in thread) Achernar Assault: Primary: Destroy 60 fighters Secondary: Disable Star Destroyer (12 turrets) Destroy 100 fighters (bonus) (possible 'disable the star destroyer' bonus, unconfirmed. Might not get enough time on target) Makum Te Assault: Primary: Destroy 14 turrets and 4 shield generators on Star Destroyer Secondary: Destroy Fighters and Turrets (75) Destroy Enemy Shield Generators (5) BIG BONUS (Once a day, 500 xp after): Destroy Star Destroyer bridge. (Same recommendation as Balosar Comm Antenna) Llanic Station Assault: Primary: Destroy 12 turrets, 2 shield generators, 4 upper antennas, 4 Hangars (on station) Secondary: Clear Enemy Fighters (which have shields at this point, make sure they're popped!) BIG BONUS: Same as Balosar. Lot harder to get with all the other things going on though. Edit: Updated with new ones mentioned in thread. Must say, with two optional objectives to hit, space combat becomes much more interesting and difficult. Mightright
I have tried dropping shield generators, how you you punch through the shields?
AuroraKet
I have tried dropping shield generators, how you you punch through the shields? You absolutely need missiles for it. It takes two missiles per generator. So be prepared to do a lot more with guns.
TItanten
I think he meant the more powerful shields present. Like on the bottom spire on the Bolzar station. Also, for your (second) objectives, how do you unlock them? I've done a few of them (Defense sattelites) every time and have seen no popup or anything. Awesome, thank you! I love the space missions, kind of reminds me of old school flying games.

Wish it were. That and the bridge of the star destroyer on Makum Te. Someone said they unlock with level, not sure what levels though... I got them on the first three, but that's with a lvl 30. Maybe they unlock when you get a new set of space misssions? Gonna check soon with my lvl 22 Guardian. RadDeBrun
The communications array(bottom spire) and the bridges of capital ships can both be destroyed. They take about 20 missiles. The rewards are 500xp for the kill and 2997xp for a (once daily) bonus mission. Edited December 31, 2011 by RadDeBrun

socman
The bottom thing you guys are talking about can be taken out with 1 proton torpedo (buy this at level 50, and you use your accommodation from space missions to buy it).

I'll remember that, if I ever get a char to lvl 50. Highest one is at 33 right now. Cool.

tarenhunt
Isn't it a little bit senseless that I get the torpedo launcher with lvl 50? Because then I do not need the extra EP any longer, and it seems that there is no special reward for destroying the bridge or the communication array. I just destroyed the array with a torpedo and in the other mission the bridge of the dreadnought, but so far all I get is my ONE(!!!) fleet insignia and a few credits. No bonus creds, no bonus items, no bonus insignias. So what is the deal with the torpedos? For me it looks like a waste of insignias. Or what do you guys think? For me, the missions are closer to my level (35 on main) so I get ~2500 xp and credits for it. The comm array paid significantly more at the Llanic assault in the outer rim, probably because I just got that mission a couple levels ago. He is talking about the Proton Torpedo Launcher that you can only use at lvl 50 which if their only use is to destroy the command bridge and communications array and if all you get from it is xp then there is no point in buying a torpedo launcher if the only bonus is xp.
