Art of Life: Custom Event-Chronicles Screenshots of <THE JEDl ORDER>

Yours truly has always found the happenings of some guilds to be like art: unique and colorful. While many guilds may do the same things, their takes on things are often quite different, and no event is hosted in the exact same manner. Herein, I will seek to chronicle the "art of life" produced by our community - watch as simple events grow and expand, to include a depth and uniqueness that greatly colors a guild as different from the one next-door.

Vrook Lamar's beloved <THE JEDl ORDER> keeps quite busy around the galaxy, with more than just boss-raids, flashpoints/operations and PvP; we also host a wide variety of get-together events to keep things interesting and the RP alive! The first few posts here may be a bit long, as we've been active since 13DEC2011!

DECEMBER 2011:

The game went public on 13DEC2012, 7 days prior to it's official launch. December was a very fun time, since few people had true experience with the game, and no one began above level 1. While a Roleplay guild, our first few days started just like everyone elses: full of wonder and exploration, with a primary focus upon levelling. December only saw 1 major guild event, and pales in comparison to January.

A simple world-boss raid, hosted 18DEC2011-19DEC2011, 5-6 days(before and after midnight) after the game went live. Not a lot of Orange-quality gear, hand-picked by guildies just yet, no level 50's. While smaller groups of higher levels can experience the fight now as much less of a challenge, we nearly wiped with full or near-full ops groups. The first few days of the game were very interesting, in retrospect, compared to our guild's current community-resources; we can now take down SD-0 with just an 8-man group.

JANUARY 2012:

January was when the guild began to host our to-be regular events. Guild-organization and the transition from SWG to SWTOR had completed, Masters(officers) within the guild were picked, and our roleplaying began to pick up.

Scenes from the guild's very first Meet-and-Greet. hosted Monday 02JAN2012, we answered questions from local passer-by on Planet Tython, and made a few new recruits. This also tested the guild's ability to host large get-togethers in a single location, and familiarized a lot of people with the world-shard/instance concept. This would lay the foundation for our weekly Sunday meetings, which have come to include many mini-events.

Pictured here are 3 separate guild-classes. As a Jedi-RP guild, Planet Tython is host to the majority of these. The first guild-class was hosted on 03JAN2012; the bottom two are pictured from 07JAN2012 and 08JAN2012. This is what I mean by unique guild-coloring - while other guilds probably have classes, they don't cover exactly the same material, the sights and sounds of the class-events are different, and the locations inevidebly vary. Master-rank players in our guild must host offer 2 classes/week to the guild, to keep newcomers of recent-advancers up-to-date on the game's mechanics, and to offer experienced advisement to those with questions.

The first JEDl guild-committee, aimed at determining a location for a cross-faction tournament. We had planned to host a mixed-faction event once a month, but instead chose to opt for a single-faction tournament first. In retrospect, I am quite glad for this, as Master Daesh'cor's guild-tournaments have taught a lot about server-latency, sharding/instancing, as well as event-timing and capacity.

This was the very 1st JEDl guild-meeting, which we call "Initiates' Ceremonies". New members seeking to join the guild on Sunday are directed to these if they will be logged in at the appropriate times, to give them a taste of the guild's size and the caliber of our events. New applicants stand before the online Masters, recite the Jedi Code, and are instructed in what to expect, and what is expected of them. This is followed by for-fun duelling with a Master, and then a wrap up in the Archives Room, where they are finally admitted to the guild. This is a tradition carried over from JEDl's days in SWG.

This is the very 1st JEDl tournament, Champions of the Force, hosted Thursday 19JAN2012. This greatly expanded upon our experience in hosting events in non-traditional locations, taught us about server-latency, and we learned much else about hosting events in crowded areas. It also gave many of us more experience in 1v1 duelling, since our guild has a wide pool of character-builds and specializations. Congrats go to Kyson-lorex, who was our very 1st tournament champion.

There were many other guild-meetings and Initiates' Ceremonies in January, but I figured posting them here and now would be redundant. Once I'm caught up through February, I'll start posting weekly about events with new screenshots, but for the sake of artful-ness, it's not neccessary to post shots from the other meetings here, at this moment.

Stay tuned for more Art-of-Life shots and chronicles!
