XorrOn
Hey all. I'm not a super huge fan boy star wars wise although I am a big fan of it. Recently during a watch of one of the original movies when they battle on "Hoth" it says in the movie that it's the 6th planet in the Hoth system yet it's always talked about as a planet. Is this just a goof up in the story arcs or is it's supposed to be that there is a planet called Hoth in the Hoth system? Just curious about this is all ")
dr_mike
Just to clarify the poster is commenting that we appear to name systems after the star in them and not the planets in there. George Lucas is not an astrophysicist. I look forward for the day where, if they do exist, we meet the Galactic Overlords and we discover that we've been living in the solar system that they named France Smells Like Poo all along. BlazeTomahawk
Naming of planets is always tricky. We live on "Earth". Earth is a synonym for the ground we walk on, also "Dirt" It would be totally believable for aliens who come to "Earth" would consider us to call our planet "Dirt". At least is English. We live on the planet Dirt.
