Is it Worth It?

Hey all!

I put this under Cybertech 'cause that's the main crafting skill I'm worried about, I've already got my Biochem on my main maxed.

My question is, if I'm already past the point where the beginning craft-able mods/enhancements/what-have-you are useless, is it worth it to RE them?

Should I just rush to the point where the crafted items are helpful? Should I bother trying to sell the "[Descriptor] Mod 2" on the GTN?

Thanks!

1) My CT is level 55, and I make random armor/mods to sell every few days (I find that making only a few of any given stat/level at a time increases throughput). I include Green Level 2 mods in that rotation, and I usually have no problem getting 1500 CR for them, so if you have it and don't want to RE it, sell it.

2) I wouldn't RE it unless/until you want to make a Blue (or purple) version. Blue sells fine, but I usually only RE to purple (for low level stuff) if I actually want to give a piece to an alt -- they don't sell as fast and need purple Underworld metals to make.

3) Definitely focus on making things that still give you skill point increases, unless you want to take time to craft for sale or personal use.

I tend to run black talon and low level FP's and heroics to gather mats as well as doing low level UT missions constantly then I craft EVERYTHING in order to RE for blue and purple versions.

I do this and sell them for reasonable prices on GTN (early droid parts sell well for lvl 20's) and I also can then craft entire mod sets for my alts.

I think you'll be surprised at how well lots of level mods/armours sell as orange gear is readily available to everyone (not to mention BoL starship sets) so it's a tall order to keep up to speed with planetary comms stuff.

Perhaps I am a completist, but the only things I find that DON'T sell are speeders and green droid parts and green starship items.

Cybertech ? You just have no idea how rare sensor devices for droids are ! I have been able to sell them easily. And often when I was curious and looked into the GTN, it showed almost no sensory devices for droids !

That's one of the few ( ? ) fields where Cybertech really matters, because these devices a) do not drop as loot b) do not appear as quest reward.

Not sure what you mean by "few" fields where CT matters, the only "dead' field is really the speeder field -- on a percentage basis, CT probably has more important fields than everything other than *maybe* biochem.

Also, you can get droid parts at Planetary Comm vendors as well as in loot boxes, but they are still very rare. But the market for Droid parts is one of the smallest (since it's only a few companions).

I must admit, that I'm not an specialist regarding Cybertech. I just don't monitor the GTN for that, I only craft for me & friends, and put things (for an moderate price) into the GTN when I need money.

But droid sensor parts, this is what I've actually noticed seems to be really rare.

However, I'm an proud owner of 2 speeders a good friend had once crafted for me; the better one of both has actually become my "main vehicle" for that Character (apart from his Tauntaun).

I think, being able to craft an whole vehicle ( ! ) is like an "rite of passage" for any Cybertech crafter. It's something ... special. Really special, at least to me.
