Yes I saw the companion thing but not the chapter 9, however I'm talking on a more official status because the Yavin Alliance was more unofficial.

It could happen, I for one would probably love if the story went that route. We're like what, 1000 years before the Palpatine era, who knows what could have happened before then.

 

I would even welcome this, because knowing BW storytelling they could make some pretty BA plots. Though, FYI, my smuggler gal would still be backstabbing the Empire (and Republic)

You mean like they did against Revan? Why would such a thought be insane?

 

Because that was a more unofficial alliance just between the people there to fight Revan, I'm talking more of an official alliance

Put Darth Gravus <the Sith in charge of Taris in that planet's storyline>, Khem Val, M1-4x, and Prime Minister Sareesh in a locked room and see if you can get them to come up with a treaty

 

In truth, at least what you see on Yavin4 is not going to last, if you play Pub side and turn in one of the dailies, you are straight out told by one of the Imp quest givers, "I do hope the Republic can celebrate victory with us before the knives must come out" <one of my favorite lines that pretty much is a symbol for this temporary alliance>.

 

Although what sort of consequences, if any, this would have for the in-game story is unknown.

I say "if any" because of, for example the light side / dark side choice you make during the flashpoint "battle of Rishi" where you can either choose to fire on Raven's ships <light side> or fire on ships of the opposing side of whichever faction you are playing <Pub or Imp>. There is zero impact/consequence to this decision - except for the dark side/ light side points your character acquires.

<that is one thing I like about the Agent 1-50 Storyline - LS, DS choices you make have an actual impact on the storyline for your character>

Not likely to ever be a full alliance, because it would disrupt the PvP! Though, I would love it if they finally instituted turncoat/traitor system, since the story is all going in one direction.

as for the republic/imperial alliance, if both of them have been ravaged hard enough that they cant survive independently for long, they could both come together in an alliance of need and convience. not only is the smart thing to do, but it would allow both sides to rebuild without the threat of a war hanging around, intelligence is shared across the table, weapons, troops, ships and so on. there is too much at stake for either of them to go it alone, and certainly not up against an empire that powerful that valkorion holds.

easy to overcome as a training simulation to prepare for war, having both sides pitted against each other in war games can increase both sides ability to withstand the attack from the eternal empire even more. so i cant see how it would disrupt pvp.

You're options are sensible and make sense. But still, without mentioning too much datamined content, it would seem the war is still going, overseen by the Eternal Emperor and the Alliance the player leads is mostly made up of specialists and people with enough vision to realize the half-truce with Zakuul won't last forever.
