Hello
FOr some reason when i wanted to play last night the patching did not go as smooth as it usually does, i let it be for and hour and did not finish the first file.
TOday it has stood over five hours and the first file is not done, i have tested restarting both the launcher and the comouter, i have downloaded another demo from origin just to se if it is connection which has problems but that worked fine. Right now I have 6,99 GB remaming of the newest patch.
Is there somewhere where I can download it manually?
PLease help, wanna play tonight.
Have fun

Greetings sanzen,

I am afraid there is no manual patching available, however this may help with your issue.

Could you please attempt the following can you rename the launcher file to launcherabc.exe and then run the fixlauncher.exe if you can also please run the game as an administrator.

When you try to run the Launcher(and it appears in the Task Manager but not on screen) please go to this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic

Here, you should find a folder called 'Patch', please delete this.

Please also ensure that your Java is up to date.

If this does not help then please try deleting the assets_swtor_main.version file and patching again.

Please report back to this thread.

Greetings sanzen,

'Aktivitetshanteraren' is task manager that is correct, can you please provide the following please.

Please post the Log within code tags or spoiler tags

You can find your launcher logs at one of these default locations:

- For 32 bit Operating Systems - C:\Program Files\EA\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\logs
or
- For 64 bit Operating Systems - C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\logs

Launcher logs look like this: “launcher_112610.txt”

Hello sanzen,

Can you please do the following for me and see if it helps.
  1. First hold the windows key on your keyboard and press the R key.
  2. When the run window appears type CMD into the box and press enter.
  3. When the CMD window opens type ipconfig /flushdns.
Please attempt to patch after this and see if it helps, let me know when you have an update.

Thank you.

Hello
I performed the actions but it did not work. Still slow.

Please note however that I did not delete the file:
assets_swtor_en_us.version
I encountered the problem I described to you before I came to this step, not sure I you were aware or if it matters at all. Shall I try and delete this file first or are there other options?

Greetings sanzen,

I would advise you to delete the file that you mentioned please.

Can you please try to do the following for me please:

Can you firstly run a Pathping and Tracert to our server.(please remove your IP information from the results)
  • Go to search
  • Type 'cmd' right click on the icon and choose run as administrator
  • When the command window opens type in the following
Pathping cdn-patch.swtor.com(please save in a notepad file)
  • After this type in
Tracert cdn-patch.swtor.com(please save in a notepad file)
  • Please post your results on the forums for me to look at.
Also I would ask you to copy the entire game directory to your desktop and try to patch it from that folder.

Thank you.

Greetings sanzen,

You may need to re-allow the launcher (launcher.exe) and game client (swtor.exe) to communicate through your firewall and anti-virus. Please be aware that we do not recommend to turn off firewall or your internet security completely.

For all those not sure how to set up exceptions for their firewall or internet security software please refer to following pages when using the Windows built-in firewall:

Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP

(Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content of other websites.)

If you are using a 3rd party software or Internet security software with built-in firewall please refer to the manual you have received with your software package. When you don't have a manual you have to visit the website of your software developer.

Also make sure you have only one firewall working at the same time. Never use a firewall delivered with your internet security software package together with your windows firewall - turn one of them off.

Don't use a proxy - it may interfere with the communication between your client and our servers. When you are on a public network like on the campus of an university or a hotel you have to contact the network administrator because they may block some ports used for server communication.

Please ensure that you have the correct ports opened in your router settings see this link and that you have both the launcher.exe and the swtor_setup.exe added to the exceptions of your firewall and any antivirus software.

We also recommend that you turn off any software you are not using as long as you play Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Thank you for your patience.
