Corruption 2.0

What do you guys think of the new tree? I think that some of our new talents, e.g corrupted speed, combined with force barrier are going to improve our survivability quite a lot (cooldown on force speed ends when force barrier has finished chanelling, and then fadeout and corrupted barrier etc.)

I'm still downloading the PTS (nearly there...) but has anyone who is on there managed to play around with our trees yet? I was fiddling with SWTOR spy, came up with this:

http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/sorcerer/236/?build=232010212121020201220230131001000023000200000000000000000000000000020000000000000000000000000000&ver=20

(noob building talent trees, lol). Anyone who's on there got any suggestions or tips for corruption? I had a point left over so I dumped it on dark resilience as unnatural preservation plays an important part in our survivability imo and so a 15% bonus should help a lot :p

You will want Sith Purity.

Lots of nasty dots and roots (like from sentinels) are physical. You'll want to be able to cleanse them, and keep in mind that your cleanse is one of the few heals you can do while moving. But it only heals when specced.

Empty Body also helps your survivability by a surprising amount. Rather than having a self-heal on a 30 second cooldown be 15% more powerful, put that point in Empty Body and heal yourself for 4/8% more all the time. And yes, that boost to all healing received applies to Unnatural Preservation as well. :D

I would take 2 points out of Seeping Darkness to make these changes (You have Recklessness for when you need crits), and 1 point from either Dark Resilience or Sap Strength. Or possibly only take away 1 point of Seeping Darkness and get rid of both DR/Sap Strength.

Something like this?

http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/sorcerer/236/?build=212012202122120201220230131001000023000200000000000000000000000000020000000000000000000000000000&ver=20

I'll have a go with these specs when this damn PTS finally finishes downloading and let you know how I got on.

Get rid of fade out and put it into seeping darkness IMO. As a healer the amount of times you'll be impaired and need to move will be minuscule, but the amount of time 2% crit comes into play can be a huge factor. You also have a 38/7/2 build, this is impossible. The point in corrupted speed is also useless for the same reason as fade out. I'm speaking from a pure PvE side of things, this build would suck in PvP compared to a bit more of a hybrid healer build.

No, no I don't think so. Lightning Barrier is so garbage it's not worth the 2 points, Reverse Corruptions is pointless unless you plan on Consuming yourself like a mofo. Corrupted Barrier is debatable. Sorc bubble was only healing my 29,000 HP Sorc for 312 I think which isn't a lot. Sure it adds up over time, but only if you're lucky to not get hit..... though on the other hand what else are you going to put 2 points into to get to the next tier.

I personally think this one is better.

So, In an ops sitution you would drop Reverse Corruptions and take.....Sap Strength... With you cant use on an Ops boss.... Yeah.. OK

As for bubble healing... Its 1% per second... free 15% hp... go figure

An additional 10% on Barrier is to good to pass up, it just helps so much when bubbling the ops....

Playing around a bit with PvP healing (lol, pretty much impossible - run in, BAM, 30k smash), the combinations you can get here are a lot better.

Predominately in Hutball, when you're being beaten down on by a sentinel or shadow it's fun to use your static barrier and get the healing from that, pop resurgence, use force speed into a flame trap and then use the new ability (can't remember the name) for the full duration. After which you can force speed off and heal yourself up.

The healing buffs are definitely noticeable too. Unnatural Preservation has gone from around ~2k to ~5k and the heal on overload got me for 5k the other day too. Instant revivification isn't as useful in PvP as everyone is constantly moving, however it's still a nice touch :)

Sap strength is a big no, reverse corruption is a big yes, but I do agree that it is arguable that sith defiance and lightning barrier are interchangeable, you are looking at self survival over raid survival however. Raid wise lightning barrier does more, HM FP I'd argue that sith defiance is a better choice though.

Reason I say no to Reverse Corruptions is because Innervate critical hits give a max 3 stack of Force Surge which makes Consumption not degenerate Force anyway. So buffing Consumption by decreasing it's degenerate time when it's already not going to give you a degenerate debuff seems pointless to me. Lightning Barrier? Yeah I guess you could get that. I just can't find the will to endorse such a small increase to an already small damage absorb. Mine was more of a pvp healing one than raid.

While that might be true, you will be using those stacks for your revivification too, in a heavy fight you might have to go over the current stacks of consumption protection and lose a little bit of energy regen from it. Thanks to the increase of both mob damage and the total health going up by a good 25% for non-tanks the healing has not been effected very much as it is. Hell I heal for more in 63's than I did on the PTS in their elite gear. I very much doubt that healers will have the luxury or time to keep our energy maxed as it is going to be.

Ive chosen this spec in terms of PvP. Now that lighting barrier has changed from 20% - 2 points to 10% - 2 points,, there is no point speccing into it as the passive absorb rating from barrier is not high. You need empty body perk, because it makes a huge difference with unnatural preservation during a nuke, or with your heals in general. plus the reduction perks on consumptions is crucial and resurgence is a waste to use in pvp anyway.

I am so disappointed. when I read the tooltip for Corrupted Speed I thought it was talking about bubble and not the new ability. I was so looking forward to timing it right so I could use 3 force speeds in a row one after the other. Just made me sadface when I found out.
