The Screenshots for 1.7 are TERRIBLE.

I mean...REALLY? I know the textures in this game are bad but did the screenshots Bioware chose to use in what is essentially an "advertisment"....

LOOK at this:

http://www.swtor.com/gameupdates/?intcmp=sor_bwa-mkt-t-us-hp-019

These pictures are FILLED with "jaggies" and taken at LESS than average quality. It's like Bioware just went in, took some random crap screenshots... I would do a better job taking shots being DRUNK.

Do you guys care about ANYTHING?

ARGHHHHHHHHHH!

I looked at them earlier and... I don't see much to indicate low rez graphics. However as with most games, I take such screen shots at face value; more of an approximation of what the final product will be like. Hard to tell from these pics what the graphics deficiencies might be. Looking forward to the PTS patch on this one.

looks good to me sounds like you are one of those people that has to have the best graphics best textures or the game is bad if you are complaining about the ones's in the screenshots

Nothing wrong with them.. They do have some jaggies but its obviously using the ingame AA (which does seem to miss some areas) rather than forcing it from outside and TBF that's the way they should show it to avoid trolls stamping there feet and screaming that theirs doesn't look the same.

Your doing the opposite which is a bit bizarre

They're shots of the game at maximum graphics and AA - so what's wrong with them?

If they used increased AA from an outside source to deal with the little jaggies (which I honestly barely even see, your monitor must have a low resolution) that would be false advertising.

Game developers often publish screenshots without anti-aliasing on, as those shots aren't seen most in a fullscreen view but rather re-used on gaming websites and will be shrunk down to fit the page. It looks smoother to view a shrunken non-AA'ed screenshot than viewing one which did have anti-aliasing over it.

Check for example this picture:

http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/gameupdates/1.7/Gree_Event_5.png

Jegged edges on the door, on the tentacles, on the tent, in the background, etc.

However, when gamefront for example reported on it, they included it in their article like this:

http://cdn2.gamefront.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/swtor-patch-1-7-gree-590.jpg?cda6c1

Hardly any of the jagged edges are still visible.

If it would have been anti-aliased up front, rather than getting crisp looking edges you'd end up with smoothed, blurred edges as you reduce the resolution. Which is not what you'd want to see.

Screenshots are fine. Perhaps you should buy a new monitor + graphics card? CRT monitors on 16 colours VGA cards are no longer supported in SWTOR.

no the pics look fine as long as you don't blow them up. like the other person said as a smaller image it looks much better but at full size you notice all the bad things. so maybe you are the one that needs a new computer and monitor...or just glasses could help too B^P
