Well am back with my character analysis thread! This time, we shall take a look at the Soveregin Protector and also traitor to the Imperial Guard, Carnor Jax!

Overview/History

Carnor Jax was a Royal Guard and aspiring Sith Lord and was the apprentice to Lumiya being partly responsible in the extermination of the last Darkside Prophets on Bosthirda. He also engineered the destruction of the last of Palpatine's clones thus opening his way to take the throne for himself, and he was also responsible for the destruction of the Royal Guard having them all killed off save for one on Yinchorr.

Jax at the start was a stormtrooper, and served as a Blackhole stormtrooper and it wasn't long after that he was recognized and taken to Yinchorr to train to become an Imperial Royal Guardsman. This was where he underwent the brutal training with the Echani arts, supplementing it with force pike and vibroblade, this was also where in the Squall where he had his first encounter with Kir Kanos who was paired often with him for training. Jax was almost always the victor in their fights, liking to gloat but as the class dwindled down in number, Jax was soon paired up with another trainee known as Alum Frost whom he did not fully respect, but despite their inability to work together on some level they were the one of the last pairs to survive the intense training.

During their final test, it was one-sided as Jax easily dominated and killed Frost thus completing his training. Little is known about Jax's service as a Royal Guard, however at a later time he was spotted by Luimya and taken to be trained as her apprentice, also being trained by other Darkside adepts, when Palpatine rose back in 10 ABY he rejoined the ranks of the Guard, however his loyalties lay now with his other allies of the Imperial Ruling Council and a notable one named Sarcev Quest conspired with Jax to destroy Palpatine.

Personality/Traits

Jax was a talented solider with ambitious attitude, even while training as a Royal Guard he desired to be nothing but the best. Though he had a high opinion of himself, he wasn't above recognizing the need for powerful allies, it was with these that Jax made good judgement on potential threats and he was one of the only people who recognized that Kir Kanos could jeopardize the Empire. Aside from these though, he had a terrible temper around his subordinates and didn't tolerate failure, though this was probably due to the darkside as this anger wasn't seen during his training as a Guardsman.

Powers/Abilities

Carnor Jax excelled as a stormtrooper, and with his training on Yinchorr he was considered one of the best trainees and with his skill and determination became one of Palpatine's Royal Guard. Having also been trained by Lumiya he was adept with TK, being able to move round spheres and crush them, his prowess helping him in his duel with Kanos being able to manipulate a rock to throw. Jax was also quite good with sense, being able to feel that Mirith Sinn was lying to him during interrogation.

Thoughts: Carnor Jax, is really one of the more interesting EU characters. The character is really well done...there isn't really much to say Jax is just done very well like Kanos.
