Ehh...I think that is a stretch tbh.

Depends on a number of things including how much on paper it makes opposed to the real numbers.

 

Avatar and Titanic have both managed it so it's possible if the right cast is in place and marketed well.

Considering we don't even have a premise as to what to expect, I kind of doubt it. It'd probably only be worth that much due to the hype of it all, really.

Hype does not bring a billion dollars in ticket sales, let alone 2 billion.

 

I have already said that if they get the big 3 in that movie, regardless of their age, that movie is going to make a billion dollars. People WANT to see those characters together again. 2 million is a big stretch, but I would not say that it is unreachable.

That article doesnt make clear weither that is box office expectations or merchandise and box office. I could easily see the lunch boxes(lol im old) and other swag bringing in 2 billion easy

If we're talking about the entire bundle, ticket sales, merchandising, etc, two billion will easily be eclipsed. If we're talking about the movie itself, highly unlikely it'll hit one billion. Edited March 30, 2013 by Pirana
