New Cartel Mounts drop rate is ridiculous!!

I once spent 120$ on Cartel packs. That was enough to get the **** out of my system and never want to touch the Cartel Market unless it came from the GTN ever again.

If you truly bought 15 Hypercrates, at a rate of 5400 CC per 39.99 (add in .07 state sales tax going off of Indiana sales tax) you have spent...and someone might want to double check my math on this...roughly $825.81 on Cartel Market items.

My God. I cannot fathom how one could drop so much cash, let alone 300$ all at once for pixels. Is your daughter being fed properly? Should we perhaps enroll you in some gambling addiction program? Jesus Christ woman! nearly $900.00 on a video game, not even on the game itself! Cosmetics! ***!?

I feel terrible for you (only slightly) and even more so for your daughter. What kind of example do you think this sets for her? "Oooh, I want shiny, must go in debt to obtain "x" item at "y" cost.

Jesus.

what if he is a rapstar?

$825? Come on now, he had it easy. You people ever heard of the unusual burning team captain hat in TF2? Last I checked it ranged somewhere in the amount of $2500 - $4000. And it does nothing whatsoever, you don't even see it 90% of the time you spend in the game because it's an FPS. Edited by Cypherz

This is going to sound harsh, but everyone throwing money at these packs and buying them in large volumes is part of the problem. The more people are willing to buy crazy amounts of hypercrates, the more it encourages Bioware to fill them with useless items and reduce the chances of getting anything decent from them.

Each patch the quality of the items in the packs declines and the ratio of filler items to premium items seems to get worse.

The packs are increasingly filled with generic designs (dancer outfits, jump suits, Hutball strips etc), recycled old crafted and comms gear with a few extras added (eg flashing bits), colour variations of gear from previous packs, dyes that aren't new colours just new combinations of old colours etc etc. And the handful of genuine new designs that are added often seem to be hastily thrown together with clipping or texturing issues.

Then they sprinkle in a handful of genuinely attractive items with a hideously low drop rate, sit back and laugh all the way to the bank as people keep throwing their money at these packs.

Players can spend their money how they like of course, it's their choice. But then don't expect anything to change for as long as you keep pumping money into these packs chasing after rare items.

Remember that the only voice you truly have is not complaining here, but by keeping your wallets and purses shut.

Exactly this.

To the OP...Let me just tell you: LOL!

The fact that you didn't sell those packs for credits so you could buy what you wanted off of the GTN makes me feel amazed that funny people like you exist. ;)

On the upside, I think we just found out who is keeping BW in business.

OP, I know it sucks, but like people said, it's a game of chance.

It's like if you went to Vegas and spent all night at the casino and were like "I've spent $5000, I can't believe I didn't win the $1 million prize".

Mathematical probability is why casinos are rich and why BW didn't declare bankruptcy.

Best strategy? Buy 3 hypercrates, get as much as you can. Any more you buy, sell them and use the money to buy the missing items.

If I spent that much on cartel packs which I might sometime since I won't miss it as I make a lot of money as a neurologist(feel free to make jokes about me needing to check my own brain) but if I ever did then I'd sell em on the gtn so I could buy whatever I felt like.

EDIT: Error found in math, it is 5500cc per 39.99 and 6912cc per hyper crate. Re doing math below.

6912cc x 15 = 103680cc

103680cc / 5500cc = 18.85

$39.99 * 18.85 = 753.81

$753.81 * .07 = $52.77

$753.81 + $52.77 = $806.58

$806.58 on CARTEL MARKET items. Congratulations, I hope you have enough for food, health insurance, gas money, electric + internet + heating bills. Mortage/rent etc. Jesus Christ. Your poor child.

Way to keep it classy and go personal. Never bring slander to people's children's it's wrong period and shows you are the head rower of the douche canoe. Who gives a **** what people spend disposable income in. Some players are adults with real jobs making good money and dropping money on packs is no big deal your post reeks of pettiness and jealous.

if you think they are dumb or want to slander then keep it to the poster don't go into personal attacks and bring their children into questioning their parenting that's low class. People have every right to spend their money how they see fit if they choose this as it good for them support the game most of us love playing. Better then buying a grand in pills or coke and getting high people are doing a lot worse things and setting a lot worse examples.

I could give a crap less what you two think about me posting that. THEY posted they spent that much money on this stuff, they brought it upon themselves. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Slander: To make a false AND damaging statement.

False? No, I went by the facts they provided in their original post. Even did the math twice. Damaging? Probably, do I care? Not so much. If I get banned *shrugs* oh well, I'll live. If I get flamed on the forums for daring to speak about such a topic, again oh well plenty of space on the ignore list.

Jealousy? Really? Meh, maybe all humans are jealous at one point. But I'm content to live within my means at the rate at which I do. Its not so much jealousy as it is outright shock at that amount being spent on this rofl. If someone actually gets offended by my extremely blunt statements, hey...you know theres an ignore function right? Use it.

So are you going to start attacking everyone who makes more money than you and can waste it? Have fun attacking every single rich person and doctor and well anyone who makes large amounts of money. Seriously who the hell cares how much I as a neurologist am willing to spend on games I like? I can afford and have nothing better to spend it on as I can already afford whatever else I would spend it on.

Nah, I wouldn't bother to waste my time on that. It just creeps me out when people start involving their kids in $500+ spending sprees. Just a personal irk I suppose.

So you would rather people never buy anything for their kids? You would rather I or the op go hey I just spent a lot of money on this game we both play but its only for me? That would be poor parenting.

Boats and fishing equipment can run a lot more than that. Music instruments as well. Same for say a small one man aircraft. Small group doing skydiving runs around that amount too.

Point being lots of activities and hobbies can run up into that price range. Why knock their's?

Those build memories, skills, family bonds. Etc. Tell me what is bonding about spending 800+ on a video game? Tell me, what is memorable about spending 800+ on a game, other than the fact you didn't get what you wanted and instead ran to the forums to complain?

Why knock theirs? The example they've just set for their kid. And I'm done with this thread now. Good night.

BioWare must be laughing all the way to the bank.

It's Electronic Arts, actually. There is no more BioWare in any real sense, and EA is well known for this sort of throw-slops-to-the-pigs-for-as-much-as-we-can-gouge monetisation of everything.

But weather you choose to be a gamer, or just another blinkered pig, oinking your way to the trough with credit card waving?

That is always entirely up to you. No-one at EA is forcing you to make the choice.

Cheaper than a boat,yes i owned a sailboat,,,once.

If he can afford to gamble with the packs i see no problem, now one would think out of all those packs that he would of found at least one mount like he wished because either that is just bad luck or BW is really milking these and people maybe should stop purchasing them.

Sorry OP. But as you know it is the RNG. Your chances of getting x drop don't change the more you open. They are, in fact, exactly the same every time you open a pack. And... I know this isn't helpful but I got the Veractyl from just one pack. The other mount and the pet came from in just 2 more. Just blind luck.

I recommend you change your approach since you are spending quite a bit of cash there. First, you can still buy hypercrates. Just don't buy as many. But one or 2 and then sell the packs on GTN. Use the proceeds from the sale of the packs to buy exactly what you want from GTN. In short, quit playing the pack game. Sell them and buy what you want specifically yourself. Not only will it be cheaper and you will get your moneys worth, but you may make some creds to boot.

I purchased 9 Hypercrates: Trackers Bounty Packs on my account and 6 on the account I have for my daughter...that is 316 packs!! There was NOT ONE Raptor pet, NOT ONE Coastal varactyl and NOT ONE Flatland Zeldrate drop! It seems to me the drop rate for these items are a bit on the RIDICULOUS LOW side! I've spent a small fortune (my choice) for a chance to win those items. With that many packs it seems there should have been at least 1 drop!

Anyone else see a problem with the drop rate of these items?

No, because unlike the Medical Table and the Mood: Outraged, all those things actually drop. I have seen all three in the game (albeit only one each).

We thank you for supporting the game financially and for giving us the opportunity to buy exactly what we want off the GTN.

Because really wanting it makes it more likely to happen.

Oh.

My.

***********.

GOD.

That's more than a month's rent --rent plus about 2 weeks' petrol at ca. CAD 1.15/litre (Hey, I have a heavy right foot, OK?)!

Now I'm sure the OP has got to be trolling: This isn't a complaint thread, it's a smarmy, passive-aggressive brag-on-the-Internet-about-how-rich-I-am thread.

No graceful way to put it: People like that disgust me beyond words.

Drop rates for the really desired items has always been low... so I don't see what the complaining is about.

Couple that with /random and poor impulse control and disappointment can indeed get itself worked up.

As they say in the old meme..... if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
