Nothing stated about Makeb is an Expansion. It is a major content update. But from what they have said it is likely to be a free content update for subscribers.

Actually theyve already changed their mind on Makeb being free and in Jeff Hickmans words at gamescom they havent decided if well be paying for this "big beefy content" yet. Keep in mind this is one planet and no class story continuation. So excited...

I Agree it will likely anger people who are staying loyal. I have stayed subbed since day 1 the least they can do is give me a few free major updates before they start trying to charge me.

I don't mind paying for it, but I would really hope they appreciate the community that they announced it too back before f2p was even a twinkle in their minds and give us players something more than the cartel coins. Maybe make the update 500 cartel coins so that subscribers technically get it for free?

This type of mentality will kill the industry. We pay for major content. I'd prefer a huge boxed expansion but if this is their version of that and they can push it out 1-2 times a year I'll fine with paying for it. You won't be paying as much as you would for a full WoW expansion but $20-30 doesn't seem unreasonable.

- Revamping all old planets, getting rid of exhaustion zones and making them more lively and bigger+ day/night/weather

- Adding 5 new planets as alternative lvl 1-55 zones so leveling an alt is less boring and linear

- Adding housing and ship customization

- Adding a full space sim JTL style

- adding mini games: Nar Shaddaa Casino, Pazaak, Swoop Racing

That is the "expansion" I would pay for.

Right on! I would love housing and more ship customization... If this game had that, I probably wouldn't play Elder.

Not for me, I always paid for expansions, now why has this game to be different? And I suggest you to speak for yourself and not for other players when you say "would be a ripoff".

If it's just Makeb with 5 more levels and a planetary quest line, then there's no way I could justify having to pay for it in addition to my $15 a month.

If they actually added class stories, I could justify paying for it. If they include the SSSP (and it's expansive), I could justify paying for it. If they add a bunch of mini-games and do a lot to revitalize the existing game, I could justify paying for it.

With the information given thus far, it's too early to make judgements (for me, at least).

An expansion has been in development since before launch, to some degree. When it materializes is anyone's guess. And no, I'm not talking about Makeb.

So, basically, it has to be a whole new game for you to pay for it? Be realistic, please.

I'm trying to hold out till Elder Scrolls online. Have they said anything about an expansion for TOR? I'm getting kinda bored.

Have you played all the stories? Tried repeating a story making different choices? Got involved with in-depth rp where you create your own story and missions? There's lots to do without an expansion and each story offers something different, not only in terms of combat, but in content.

We don't know "everything" that will be going in it if it is an expansion. For all we know it is one planet and a couple other things. Well if they charge they could be adding a tons more stuff in it also.

So jumping to conclusions, let's just wait until they give us more info on this and if they say it will be a charged expansion, let's wait and see what exactly will all be in it before assuming. For all we know the new space could be in it also yet they are keeping that part hush hush. We simply don't know yet.

So... content so dull and boring that the developers actively promote botting to get you through the grind? No thanks. The only things SW:G had going for it were community and, to a lesser degree, crafting. Everything else is just slathered in nostalgia.

how about pointing out the positives I was clearly refering to?

The one thing that is dull and boring compared to SWG are the exhaustion zone littered corridor planets in TOR and absolutely NO sense of open world. Also missing space sim, missing housing, missing ship customization, missing day/night/weather change, no atmospheric flight, no meaningful crafting.

btw, the click x kill x quests in TOR are no better than in SWG, with the only bonus of having voiceovers.
