L-RANDLE Posted January 29, 2013 Share Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) You need a shield generator to have any chance at shielding attacks, the mods in the generator determine how powerful the shielding is (if you use shield/absorb mods/enh/augment). You can, however, equip a shield generator and put DPS-type mods in them to have the base shield/absorb given by the shell of the generator (like 15% shield/5%absorb) and DPS stats for everything else, the only issue is you need to have a "tank" toon in order to equip them, and be in tank stance for them to work.
