  1. Aerencor was not only a valuable member of our guild but also a great friend to all that knew him. His family posted on our guild website today that he has passed away. I know this is just a game and the immaturity levels can get quite high on the server but for those that knew him and had the pleasure of playing side by side with him in the thousands of war zones we have all run or the hundreds of flash points and operations we have completed, the Sky Wardens will be hosting a memorial service on Courscant at the Senate Tower on May 17th at 7pm eastern time. No one needs to comment on this but if you do we ask that you please be respectful and for those that would like to attend we will be mixing in RP as his greatest love in this game was RP/Lore. On Behalf of the Sky Wardens Thank You
  2. We are running a group at this moment if anyone subbed to this.
  3. The Sky Wardens are in the process of re visiting Ranked War Zones and are looking for groups to queue against. We have gone from decent PVPers to crap to mediocre and have only several geared players to do ranked with. In smaller groups we do rather well in regular wz's but need improvement when working as a full group of 8. What I can say is that we are dedicated to improving and would like to set up times to run against other newer guilds that would like to accomplish the same goals. We run PVP on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with no ranked schedule at the moment. If there are guilds out there that are in the same situation and hate being pwned by guilds that have been built on being the best pvp guild out there let me know either on here, private message or in game and we can set up some ranked skirmishes to help our guilds become better organized and build upon effective communication. I will say that this is more pointed towards the imps as I know there are teams out there but don't queue because of the numerous republic groups that have to win every time. Not trying to stir the pot but I hate getting whispers from guilds that know they can beat us in ranked spamming us to queue....sorry not going to happen. Period Stop the End.
  4. Not sure how everyone else feels about what Im about to put in here but I set myself up a little differently based solely on running focus spec. I dropped my accuracy to about 92% and crit rating way down to 25% buffed. I run 10 might augments and 4 power augments and min maxed my gear for weeks. The reason for 10 and 4 was to find a balance in the augments which would allow for the biggest base damage without sacrificing too much strength. You can go 9 and 5 respectively and its the same outcome but after that you start losing. I figured this out by buying a set of might augments and overkill augments and just experimented with them. The reason I did these things is as a focus spec crit rating is useless cuz your biggest hit is force sweep and it auto crits. My surge however is capped at 79.5% which allows my force crit multiplier to be at 109.5% which is how I get my force sweep crits well above 6k. I think my biggest hit in a wz was just above 7200 on a healer of course with no bubble or guard. But the bread and butter of focus spec is being able to hit multiple targets with that kind of power. My biggest overall hit was about 30k in a group of 5 as we were fighting for mid in civil war. I do all of this while maintaining an expertise rating above 1200. Try to keep up with that healers....LOL
  5. I use the ancient ardent vest (or something similar as far as the name) which is mostly white with a little brown as accents. I paired that up with the bh legs bh gloves and elite wh boots and everything is pretty much white. That was the look I wanted from launch and one of my guildies gave me the chest piece. I do see them on the gtn all the time. (little disappointed honestly cuz I was unique for quite some time at least on Jung Ma)
  6. So this is a great guide for this class and this is the only class that I play as a level 50. I have a set of pvp gear and pve gear and have a quick question regarding accuracy running combat spec for pve. I currently run BH gear optimized with dread guard belt, bracers and hilts. (A couple other 27's as well) Following the traditional 30% crit 75% surge and stacking strength with a little power I have come down to accuracy. As a watchman i was running 99.89% and was trying to get one more piece to get me above 100% but as a combat senty my accuracy gets buffed up to just under 107% i think. Now my question is that I have been told by a few that run combat that having between 105 and 110% acc is important to combat. Is this true? Am I wasting bh coms/credits on accuracy? I did notice a 150-200dps increase when I switched to combat with the added accuracy but I want to make sure I'm not wasting stats.

    Looking for a guild.

While everyone is going to try to recruit you individually my recommendation would be to use the enjin recruitment site to check out all of the active guilds and find one that fits what you are looking for. I'm sure that all of the main guilds have websites at this point as you can have one for free. Happy Guild Hunting!
  8. So a few things have been posted that caught my attention so I thought I would chime in. The Sky Wardens are bgininning to rally our forces for ranked wzs and did a match the other day and although we lost it was an extremely close match. Maybe not in shear dps or heals but neither team was able to drop a door. (Aerencor was 0.1 seconds shy) That is a match that I could do over and over but like a few have stated its tough to get an entire group from the Sky Wardens to do it because we are still trying to work out our particular kinks like gear/communication. Now on the flip side of that its everyone's individual responsibility to grind to get coms and gear. I optimized well before the elite gear (crap except for the armorings imho) and did it pretty much solo. In all honesty I'm sure that most of us that are actually geared for ranked did the same which is why we are where we are. Now you can argue that gear is a crutch but lets be honest. If the sky wardens queue with me optimized and maybe 1 or 2 more and a bunch of half geared players and go against a team that is complete we will lose due to pure numbers. And this comes down to the fact that no person can go against 3 or more at a time effectively and we do get singled out but thats fine...its a strategy that works and no doubt we would do the same. As far as the intent of this thread like I said The Sky Wardens are going to queue and are setting a schedule to match when other guilds run. We will hopefully be in queue at 8pm eastern tonight per the schedule and hope to get a couple queue pops pending our attendance. As a final thought friends lists are there for a reason. Lets use them. Im not afraid to admit that I probably have the absolute worst rating on this server but thats just due to random groups and wanting to do ranked wzs. I think Ive done over 100 with waaaayyyyy tooo many losses but thats fine by me. Dont really care anyway. I know what my capabilities are and prove that in reg all the time. Season 1 will start at some point and the pre season is to figure everything out. So as far as on the republic I am always up for a ranked team weather its with just sky wardens or a random group. This is of course is until our Ranked team is completely ready to roll.

    DECEMBER 3rd PvP

Well to reply to that, you told me on our website that if i had an idea to post it here and i did. If no one wants to use the forum to set it up then so be it. I did what you asked me to do. Second if it was your plan all along to just have a big pvp warzone you should have stated that in your first post and not rely on everyone else to come up with an event to just not talk about it. I put actual thought into what would make this successful, again as you asked me to, and this is what it's turning into. Another gathering of people that just want to pvp in a huge group. Well thats fine and enjoy but unfortunately thats not what the Sky Wardens find fun and will probably not be attending. I have a funny feeling this will be no different than the last couple. I have to be honest on this one...sounds to me like a "I want to host an event to make my name big but do nothing to set it up." If you're going to throw out there that YOU are making an event then maybe YOU should plan it organize it and execute it. Dont just say hey guys event on the 3rd come have fun then do nothing else. The best planned event was that on alderaan and belsavis which was planned and executed but with a lack of proper communication. If anyone actually read what I posted about an event on Ilum and would like to set up and ACTUAL event let me know and we can work on something legit. If not and everyone is communicating about this besides us then thats fine...we are obviously not wanted there anyway then. I used this forum as I was instructed to. Oh and as a side note sulu I would be careful who you smash in the forums...just another example of disrespect and poor professionalism especially towards a guild that you helped create and walk away from.......

    DECEMBER 3rd PvP

Well not come off in a jerk kinda way but if all we are doing is focusing on mid I can do that in a wz. My thought on any sort of event is to have objectives and to incorporate ALL aspects of the game into one centralized location. Just running around PVPing isn't intriguing enough for me to want to go especially since doing just that will cause a serious issue with lag and Im not going to sit and watch my toon move an inch at a time. We have to spread out over a larger area which is why the ilum world pvp area is perfect for it but if I get stuck at mid just fighting back and forth Ill just queue up and do the same thing with no lag. If you want this to succeed you need to bring some creativity from different guilds together and honestly im not sure how many people are actually doing that besides just saying that they will be there. My proposal for this at this point (being only a few hours away) is to get the guild leaders together that are going and have an actual discussion and set this up properly at least a half hour before it is set to begin. We can lay out rules, areas for different aspects, and set guidelines for smaller competitions if thats what we want to do. Doesnt matter to me either way but if we want this to be a success we have to plan organize and execute as a community and not just all gather up and ask each other whats going on. I will be on Ilum at 6:30 pm eastern time on Kordeed.

    DECEMBER 3rd PvP

I posted what I thought would make a good event above but haven't seen any comments questions or concerns regarding it. I have a bunch of guild members from the Sky Wardens that are interested and I will be there but lets try to nail this down over the day so we don't all just show up and stand around. If everyone likes my thoughts then we can incorporate that into the event but its not my event so as of now nothing has been set in stone.

Oh and as far as the "elite" thing my thought on that is to have 1 or maybe 2 people from each guild to represent not only their guild but their faction. If we get enough interested in participating we can bump it up to 3 or 4 from each guild and make multiple teams but lets mix it up a bit and work together.

The Sky Wardens are in discussion about this as we have many new members that are interested in Open World events and would like to participate but have a few concerns that have been issues in the past. This is the message I sent in regards to what I think an Open World event should be. As of right now there doesn't seem to be any sort of structure that will prevent certain issues from arising so I have come up with a plan that will incorporate many aspects of the game and get everyone involved in this. Take a look and let me know what you think. If the Sky Wardens were to host an event this is what we would do. So I mentioned it to aeren and clymene. aeren is interested clymene not so much. With that said I think we are going to run into some resistance on this one because there is no structure. Just do whatever and no one wants to waste time just standing around or getting ganked by douche bags. I created the signup and I dont have an issue going but if the sky wardens are going to have a larger presence it is going to require a little more structure with objectives or certain areas for certain things. We have concerns with lag and a lack of respect and professionalism. As far as my thought on a world event on ilum.... I would use the open world pvp area as it is large enough to spread out. Helps the lag issue. I would utilize the objectives already in place in the area to control ilum with smaller groups of players at each section. I would make it so neither faction can go all the way to the other factions base which would allow for rp or hanging out. I would set a strict rule against ganking lower level players. Its discouraging for our new members to get ganked and I have been called to tatooine multiple times which I dont mind but our members get frustrated with trying to level. As far as PVP my thought on this and hear me out here would be to put a couple of groups of lowbies, a couple groups of fresh 50s and a group or two of the elite on the server. Separate them and do a competition. This does a couple of things. A) No guild gets to stand out as the "best" and many players can get together with new people that they may not have played with before. B) Everyone gets to participate if they want to. C) Allows the elite to truly shine in a way that unfortunately many of us haven't been able to experience in ranked wzs. The factions bases are great for RP. My thought here is something along the line of this... Kordeed "Man Aeren its rough out there" Aeren "This battle is unforgiving and you look like you need a drink" Kordeed "I agree. I was just allowed a leave from duty for a short period so I will take you up on that offer" Aeren "Relax friend and enjoy this" It lets people participate in the PVP and take a break to enjoy the RP side of things and just hang out. As you can see I have thought about this for some time and have come up with a great plan but at this point world pvp has failed too many times for people to be confident in this. I say lets give this one more shot. Think about these things and let me know if you would like some assistance setting this up. More than happy to help. Kordeed
  14. After reading many posts on this subject it becomes very clear that the main issue isn't even with the f2p members right now lol. The subscribers are torn in two by 2 very respectable opinions and I think it will be difficult for bioware to meet all of this. On one side you've got subscribers that argue the entitlement side which is true. Why should f2p members get all the stuff that subscribers get. That wouldn't make sense at all and many subscribers would leave. On the other side you have the subscribers that are hoping that this f2p option will bring hundreds of new members to actually play with but wont be able to because of the restrictions. Even if the population goes through the roof the game experience for subscribers will remain stale and will continue to suffer from a lack of subscribing players. Either way you go you will get complaints and that's all there is to it. Personally I can see things from both sides but in the end it will come down to the very people we are arguing over...the f2p players. How many will buy extras to get more content, how many will just subscribe and how many will just remain f2p? I say give it some time and enjoy playing the way we have been for months. If it bothers you that much leaving is always an option but you can be a part of the solution or be a part of what kills this great game imho.
  15. Sooo true!!! There are soo many people (including those that I know) that would love to try but the whole weekend pass thing and only to level xx is such a pain. Lets be honest you can get to level 15 in a couple of hours...oooh what fun. This gives people the chance to check the game out for FREE and find out if it is something they are actually interested in at their own pace. A decent, but sure not perfect, business model. So you play to level 15 to 20 and then say hey I dont like not having the extra hot bars. So oh look at that you can buy just those for a few bucks and then continue. This is a way for new people to build a relationship with a great game without diving into a subscription. For those that actually enjoy this game and pay every month they understand the value of subscribing but new players dont. Give them a chance to get into it and many will either pony up and subscribe or pay a few bucks here and there to get what they need to enjoy the game. Nothing more nothing less. Oh and as a final thought at least in SWTOR everything you buy is instant unlike other games I have played where once you buy an upgrade you have to wait for several hours before actually claiming the content. I think back to when a flying mount I wanted back when I played wow was on sale so I bought it then sat around for hours and even sent 2 emails to check in on the status of my "order" I didn't order it for delivery I paid for it outright it to get it that instant.
