  1. You mean like all the time? Force push you from injectors then root you with force leap as you are running back to it. Most of the time your team mates are eager to watch you die and are milking every single nanoseconds that you are tanking the boss so they can pew-pew.
  2. Gold sellers will exist no matter where or what environment you force your community into. I have been playing MMO for ten years now, ranging from Runescape, WoW, Aion, Tera, Rift, SWTOR, GW2 and a few others that I don't even remember. All of these have gold spammer in them. The degree of severity varies by game depending on how easy the in-game currency is to obtain, and that's about it. It doesn't matter if the game is sub-based or not, gold spammers will be there regardless. Putting detrimental restriction on F2P like SWTOR only disgust legitimate players rather than deter illegal RMT who are hell-bent on making money one way or the other regardless of what ridiculous environment you put them in. Reason why SWTOR seems mild in terms of gold spammer is because credits are so easily to obtain that players just doesn't see the need to "take the short-cut". Recently, I noticed a lot more spamming activities because BW has began to flood the game with "cool" CM stuff which is causing more people to demand "instant cash right now" because they don't have to patience to farm all the credit they need to buy all the "cool stuff" any more. Basic supply and demand. In short, I strongly agree with the OP. Advertising the game as F2P then put severe restriction on them just make the game look like the game is desperate to nickle and dime you. Placing restriction on F2P is fine; but do it in moderation. XP restriction, chat restriction, limited mail restriction are the ones I will agree with. The rest is looks like extortion ploy from a greedy company. I mean come on, pay to toggle helms off? LOL!
  3. Overall very solid guide. However, I wish to make a suggestion. Under Tank Behavior section, please add the following: ALWAYS READ THE NPC'S BUFF Clarify that the NPC buff are the icons DIRECTLY over their picture, NOT on the bar where player's debuffs are applied. Tanks should learn what various icon over the NPC pictures mean; from Boss Immunities to Unshakable to Stealth Detectors etc etc. I am absolutely mind-boggled that how even top-end raiding guilds fail to do something simple such as this (I know because I am in one). I still remember the night when storms of tears and rage filled our Teamspeak channels when we wiped on trash packs in SnV HM because nobody bothered to read the special ability of the mobs in there.
  4. I agree playing as Sniper Khoris is the most annoying piece of trash. Usually when this boss is picked, I just Entrench and say to hell with the mechanics. But then he force pushes a melee dps half-way across the room and then jumps to him...
  5. I actually see that the OP does have a point. With double exp and all it's actually matter of days before someone hits 55 from a fresh character. Even if they are f2p with no legacy, it is only about 2 weeks max before they hit 55. Since KDY automatically bolsters all gear and stats to lvl 55 of the same quality, I won't be surprised when I start seeing noobs trying to get into operations in their lvl 15 greens. I like the idea of tactical FPs but I think the option to queue for one should be locked until the player has at least one lvl 55 character. That way new players get to learn the basic structure of the game while the vets can powerlevel their alts through tactical FPs.
  6. This story is from KDY on my female Cathar character whom I made the shortest and thinnest body size available. Random Pug: OMG YOUR KITTY IS SOOO CUUUUTTTTEEEE!!!!! Random Pug: You cute kitty kitty kitty Random Pug: Come here, kitty kitty Random Pug: Kweety kweety kweety Random Pug:Wooshuu nuu nuu! Wooshuu nuu nuu! Me: *Uses the Carthar racial ability* Random Pug: D= ----- This was all because the first conversation after loading in....
  7. Oh I am sure BW will make this happen. It will only cost 24k CC and it can't be unlocked through Collection or Legacy:rolleyes:
  8. Ok, let me stop you right there. First of all, that spec is GROSSLY outdated and it wasn't even that effective at the time it was proposed. Go back and re-read all the talents in that trees again, since launch Guardian/Juggernaut had went through massive overhaul that made hybrids like that a cripple with mental deficiency. Like people had said before you, pick a role and stick with it. Don't go thinking you can invent something new.
  9. Reading these kind of post makes me wanna rage at the incompetence of SWTOR PVP community. It's as if people like the OP doesn't even read their skill trees or their tool tips when they are training for their skills. Killing a healer 1 vs 1 is by far the easiest thing I find in game (yes this include the god-mode Scoundrels). Why? because they are alone with nobody else to interfere with your onslaught against their frail little bodies. I am going off on end game PVP gear/skills sets because that is where the QQ comes from the most. 1) Make sure you are in the CORRECT spec for PVP. Yes, even tanks have PVP spec in them. It boggles me to no end that there are people at level 55 PVP and not even specced correctly. See that talent which increases the duration of your root? Take it. See that talent that reduces the cooldown to your CC/stun? Take it! You think that extra 1 or 2 seconds doesn't matter? You are wrong, 1 or 2 second can look like forever in PVP. Your job as a dps when playing against a healer is to make the person on the other end very uncomfortable. If your root and snares are lasting longer and you are stunning more often, you will more likely to draw mistake from the Scoundrel heals. 2) READ YOUR TOOLTIPS. For the love of God, everyone should take 5 min, the next time they log in to read every single tool tip that is on their character. I have seen numerous Sentinels and Gunslingers who are unaware that they can apply healing debuffs on to people. When confronted about it, they give the usual answer: "LOLLOLOL DERP DERP ERP DERP? DURRRR" Quite a number of Shadows are unaware that they can Resilience most of the stuns in game, as they are all Force/Tech. Find creative ways to utilize your skills. 3) Study your opponent. I know in this day and age you expect to log on and everyone is to keel over for you. As people had mentioned before, the trick to killing Scoundrel heal is to force them to abandon their cast heals. Next up is to study their defensive abilities. Dodge only makes them immune to PHYSICAL (White, I repeat, White) damage for 3 sec. That means hit them with FORCE/TECH attacks (YELLOW, I repeat YELLOW) damage for that duration. The number of times I see people wasting Dispatch/ Quickdraw/ Spinning Slash on a Scoundrel using Dodge makes me wish Hitler had won WW2. 4) Simulate the encounter in your mind. Before that WZ queue pops, don't just stare the the screen or go on your Facebook. Think about how you must react and act when you are faced with a Scoundrel with your CD are down or if he decides to fight back or if you have team mate to help you with. Each scenario requires different tactic so planing out your actions before will make you less likely to be caught off guard.
  10. If Snipers gets1 shot 1 kill, Gunslingers MUST get the followings: - None of our abilities can be Missed,Parried, Deflected and Resisted. Because you know, we Gunslingers know how to curve our bullets- I mean blaster bolts. - Our Dirty Kick must have no CD and doesn't respect GCD. It will automatically 1 shot all enemy MALE characters. - On the same note as above, Gunslingers are immune to all damage and effects from an enemy of OPPOSITE gender. This is not overpowered because enemy male ranged DPS have a chance to kill my male gunslinger before I close in for a 1 shot Dirty Kick, while my female Gunslinger is vulnerable to all enemy female characters. - Oh and, leaving cover should reset the CD on my Hunker Down.
  11. Already these two categories disqualifies any hybrid spec in question. "Linear" specs as you call them will have skills points that will either further power up certain aspect of your class (i.e DoT, Burst Damage, mobility etc. etc.) or make resource management much easier as you level up. Thus, makes a certain spec very streamlined and efficient at what they are supposed to do; or as you put it "Does not require three hands to play". Don't get fooled by DPS parses that some of the people are posting on forums regarding hybrid spec because a) they are hitting static dummies that don't fight back, b) Don't have to compensate for other mechanics or mistakes caused by other players in your group. If you are truly serious about the qualifiers you have listed you will find that any hybrid spec will never fulfill your wish if you take a closer look at your skill trees. The only instance I will allow someone to advocate for hybrids are in PVP (even then I am doubtful) or some very gimmick instances in Ops or FPs, but those are very few and far in between.
  12. Theran Cedrax and Lt. Iresso. You can choose either or, not both but then both of then are pretty terrible for romance. From the looks of it female JC are destined to be virgins forever.
  13. If Empire is to get those "new content" then Republic should get: Applying Overwhelming Force New proto-type weapon has been developed by the Republic scientists thanks to the recent acquisition of technology and knowledge of Hutt Cartel. This weapon is capable of precisely and efficiently target all organics containing any traces of Sith genetic material and eliminates them. Major [Player's Name] is given the opportunity to field test this proto-type. Now it is a chance for Major [Player's Name] to bring the meaning of the name "Havoc Squad" to a new level. The Future Grand Master Jedi Knight/ Consular is being considered as the candidate of the next Grand Master of the Jedi Council. Due to their heroic efforts in the War, JK/JC must face series of grueling trials presented by the Council for evaluation. JK will go to Illum for further honing of their martial prowess while JC will travel to Voss to bring that planet to Republic side once and for all. Shadow Money The War between the Empire and Republic has made Captain [smuggler's Name] extremely wealthy and influential. Already denizen of underworld circles whispers his/her name in awe for finding the lost treasures of Noc Drayen and being Republic's privateer has garnered incredible support with the Senate. Now it is time for Captain [smuggler's Name] to use the power and wealth to aid the Republic.... or aim for a much more ambitious and sinister agenda...
  14. The notion of healing has not changed since launch day with Sages still win the cake in AOE heals while Commandos are the most efficient tank healers while Scoundrels are the most mobile healer of all 3. All the changes you saw are quality improvement stuff to make gameplay more efficient and has no effects on their presumed archetypes.
  15. Well let me help you make up your mind then. The Force is no less iconic than the lightsabers for a Jedi. In fact, any one can wield a Lightsaber in SW universe if they can somehow acquire one. Now, the Force is what truly defines a Jedi because no Force= no Jedi. In terms of animation, Sage will get a lot more flashy looking spells, especially if you choose the Telekenetic tree, whereas Commando have nothing special; bullets and grenades that's about it. As for storyline, Commando is all about obeying orders and running back to your superior's office in Coruscant. No kidding about the running to Coruscant part. Every 3-4 class quest= returning to Senate Tower for 30 sec conversation then it's back on the road for you. Expect to do a lot of "Yes, sir; No, sir, Three-bags full, sir" in your story. Sage storyline is just the general "Jedi- save - the- world- cuz- I- am- too- lazy- to- do- it" kind. In terms of Romance, Commando only gets 1 option while Sage get 2 if you are playing female.
