  1. This. Also, if looks are an issue for you, remember that even somebody as vain as Jaime Lannister can find a soft spot for Brienne.
  2. Fair enough on XvT, but XWA is more than pretty enough to serve as a GSF replacement, and was extremely smooth-playing as well.
  3. For joysticks: 1. License X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter or X-Wing Alliance 2. Upgrade graphics 3. ? 4. PROFIT
  4. This didn't seem like a question for the New Player Help forum because I'm not really a new player, but please forgive me if I'm wrong about that. After a hiatus of several months from the game, I am just about ready to pick up again. I've got an elder-game Guardian, an almost-done-with-main-story Sorceress, a mid-40s Sniper, and a couple of other lowbies waiting for me. But here's the problem: I barely know what to do anymore. I know the basic controls, of course—they're not that difficult and there are some things you never really forget. But I have lost any real proficiency with combat management. I don't remember a lot about my rotations, my situational skills, crafting, or companion control. the things I do remember are so rusty that they're useless unless I find a way to mod the game into a turn-based one. Do you have any recommendations for getting back to my former level of play skill (which wasn't great, but I was enjoying myself) so I can continue with my existing characters? Should I start new ones? Rampage through low-level areas during off hours when I won't inconvenience players on missions? Any other suggestions? Thanks, Alefiend
  5. Better players than I will give you more info, but part of your issue is that you aren't deep enough into the class to have all your rotation skills yet. Also, a sentinel is going to have a very different set of skills and priorities than a guardian will, especially if we assume that the typical sentinel is a beatstick and the typical guardian is a tank. The sentinel has to pour on the damage faster, while the guardian can be more deliberate.
  6. You don't have to look very far for one of these in-game.
  7. Not yet. I suppose it's the mirror image of the Knight in story as well as abilities? The shame of it is, the sorc I'm running is a healer, and the way I justify that for Sith in my mind is that she manipulates pleasure and pain. In short, she's kind of a BDSM seductress, and I would be much happier with that character doing the corrupting than some emo Sith beatstick (which I won't be getting around to playing for a long time). Can't have everything, I guess.
  8. The best advice I ever got for dealing with Leeroy marauders and sentinels is this: Let them leap in and die a few times. They will either learn their lesson or they will quit, whereupon you can re-queue for a better player.
  9. Here's a noob's opinion. The Sorc healer I'm playing is my first ever healer, and SWTOR is my first-ever MMORPG (except for Age of Conan, but it was a real disappointment and I gave it up fast). She's very easy to manage, and does a very good job of keeping teammates on their feet, even though I don't have the AoE heal yet or even particularly good gear. She can also deliver useful damage when needed, and there's a nice handful of panic buttons for when the Aggro Fairy waves her wand at you.
  10. You know how, at the bottom of the screen you have your group members and your companion on one side, and your active target on the other? Well, you can have another clickable target elsewhere on the screen. The command is either CTRL-F or ALT-F (don't remember which) and it will make it easier for you to switch targets. I am sure there's more to it than what I've just said, but I only recently found out about it myself. It's great for healers too, especially for keeping other people's companions in the fight.
  11. I would love this. I've been meaning to create a suggestion for it, so I'm glad to see I don't have to.
  12. I've made it nearly all the way through a Sith Sorcerer playthrough, and something occurred to me. Why don't darksiders have the chance to corrupt lightsiders? In my Jedi Guardian playthrough, I redeemed somewhere between two and four Sith/Dark Jedi, enough that it started to feel trite. The dark side is supposed to be seductive and addictive, yet I can't even get my own apprentice Ashara to do much more than look for middle ground. What gives?
  13. This is the right of it. As an addendum to (a), maybe they tried selling a given item at what seemed like a reasonable price and failed—just because everybody else has the same price doesn't mean it's the right price.
  14. Sure, it's annoying. But that's why we have an in-game economy, or what passes for one. You get something you don't need, sell it on the GTN—somebody else is doing the same thing with something you do need. More trade terminals on the planets would be a good thing.
