  1. Es gibt Leute, die motiviert "gear". Die nennt man Achiever. Es gibt Leute, die motiviert "gear" null. Die möchten nur PvP machen. Die nennt man Killer Es gibt Leute, die motiviert Geschichte, Erkunden etc.. Die nennt man Explorer. Im PvP sollte ein fairer Wettbewerb herrschen. Der Bessere sollte gewinnen, nicht der besser "gegearte". Deswegen hat investierte Zeit hier nix zu suchen. Die Alternative heisst Super gegearte Achiever Dumpfbacke macht undergegearten PvPer frisch. Das mag der Killer nich so. Der Achiever finds natürlich toll. Andersrum findet der Achiever natürlich das Bolster-System uncool. Der Thread unten beschreibt die Einstellung vom PvPer ganz gut. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=633628 "Gear progression" ( Achiever-Müll ) gab es in den anfänglichen MMORPGs nicht. Man konnte sein Gear schon ausbauen, aber wenn man verreckt ist, hat man ALLES was man am Körper trug verloren.

  3. I have been playing a PT since launch. Was a chain rail shotter, then a Parakeet, then a dot monster... To be honest Pyro PT was overpowered and one has to be a bit of a masochist to continue playing a pyro. Not because pyros are underpowered now, but because of the "different experience". But AP is fun now and can rival the damage of Smashers ( ok,ok 30% less ), with a lot more effort though. The good: A lot less PTs in warzones. What really bugs me is the ugly partisan/conqueror armor

Quite the contrary, upon death you lost everything you had on your body.
  5. The new bolster system is a giant step in the right direction. Fair competition means that no one has an advantage. If you want a gear advantage, you want unfair competition. Simple. I want fair competition. No pedals, no wimps, no posers.

    GW2 - PvP was a spam fest. Not very complex, unfortunately. I am playing swtor since launch and I am not bored because i find the PvP is interesting. It is a motivation to master all 8 Acs in PvP. When they add new war zones it will be interesting to find efficient strategies et cetera... "Ceterum censeo gear dependency esse delendam"

    Why not ? Give them the LAZY queue, I would be the first to queue. All others can play in the hardcore queue. Without any gear/stat advantage, it would be a question of smart tactics, reaction and coordination. The greater the gear advantage, the easier to win against a smarter, faster and more coordinated player. Is this really what you want ? "Ceterum censeo gear dependency esse delendam"

    Not simple. Not Plain. There are Killer, Socializer, Explorer or Achiever. Mostly the Achiever cares for grinding. The problem is that in "recent" MMOs stat customization is done via gear grinding, catering the achiever type. Personally I don't give a flying **** for grinding. They should offer a queue with no gear dependency, would be interesting to see which war zone type would be more popular. "Ceterum censeo gear dependency esse delendam"

    You must be quite young, as in the old style MMOs you lost all your gear upon death. You could attack anyone anywhere. That, my friend, was hardcore. Your gear based attitude is care bear style ( I grinded for my gear, now I am uber. I still cant press the right buttons at the right time, but hey, I have the gear, I dont have to ). Every system that gives an advantage in PvP via gear, that is not lost upon death, is for crybabies. In the old days gear grinding and pvp was mutually exclusive !!   12. I don't think it's a good idea to spam incendiary round. I actually don't use it at all. Hammershot has a good chance to proc the burn effect. I would really like to see you winning against a assault vanguard / pyro with gunnery that you don't catch fighting someone else. He has 2 stuns, pull, short interrupt and one of the best busts in the game. You have a knock back, a stun, instant mez and have to rely on channels. Pyro PT / Assault Vanguard is King of 5-10m. Pyro Merc / Assault Commando is King of 11 - 30m Gunnery is dead meat on 0 - 30m in 1:1. If he can front load a burst before the opponent notices him , he can win. But every spec has a huge advantage if it can front load a burst. Don't get me wrong I like gunnery. But after legions of war zones as gunnery I think that pyro / assault is simply better in all aspects.

    No. Grind never motivated me. There are other motivations. Like being at the top of the bounty board, ranks/titles, player recognition, content, events world pvp et cetera.     Uhm ?!?! Well a day has 24 h for everybody, right. But the question is how much time do you have available for playing. As a student I had 12h+ now I have 2h at maximum. But now I have money to compensate. That's fair, so let me buy the stuff. Btw, I did enough skill and gear grinding to last for three lifetimes. OR Kill gear progression for pvp. Stupid idea anyways. Softcore kiddies playstyle, bah. In the old times 14/18 I ...
  15. Mann so ein Gelalle. Ist nur eine Eintastenklasse...versucht mal als Kommando/Söldner gegen einen guten Powertech/Carolina zu bestehen. Die sind für mich die Schwierigsten. Als reiner DD hab ich keine Chance als Heiler Hybrid mehr. Aber ehrlich, gegen einen guten Melee sind die ranged Klassen chancenlos, sofern sie nicht etwas "Schadenvorsprung" haben und so soll es auch sein. Und was heisst null skill, ob ich nun den parakeet spiele oder meinen Kommando, beide sind gleich anspruchsvoll. Mit nur einer Taste drücken ist man tot, es sei denn der Gegner ist eine Doppelnull. Gnampf!
