  1. Did it in the end after spending every commendation and a buckt of credits upgrading everything I could. interrupted anything with an obvious timer bar and stimmed and medpacked. But did it just - was probably 1 hit from death. So bad I hit seethe the second I could in case of any lingering DOTs. Next lot of running around led me to another 'gold star' target. Same con as Wilkes as suppossed to be. First go ended with Khem on more than half health and I hadn't even been scratched. So.... One 'gold star' boss down in seconds with ease, the other 1 hit from defeat. Sounds balanced and unbroken to me....
  2. Which is when? What indicators are there for this? But frankly it is broken if you need to have so speficic a set up or so specific a knowledge of a foe to be able to progress in something as important as a class quest. Seems some specs - esp. healers breeze through it with ease. That to me says a fight set up for a specific spec, not a specific class. Poor design that punishs you heavily for not making the same build choices as someone else.
  3. Posted on another small thread - but will post here as well. having same problem - sith assasin lvl 30 and getting him down to about 3% as well, but going down time after time. Sure I've have bosses that take a couple of goes - but nothing like this guy. I have upgraded good gear and have used stims and med packs, but still no joy. I've tried interrupts - jolt electrocute and whirlwind etc. as much as I can, but he still won't go down. I'm beginning to suspect you need a specific build to do it or you are screwed. I'm not in a guild but even so you should not need to call for help for a class quest boss. yes it is an MMO but needing to call in help on a solo class quest says to me that the quest is broken.
  4. I'm totally stuck on this too. Died about 10 times so far. Even levelled to 30 and still getting killed. Never had this much trouble with any other mob at all. Can get him down to about 5% but then i'm down. Tried with the smuggler - he dies real fast - not a chance with him lucky to get him down to half before wea re both dead. Tried it with Khem, healing packs and stims - still getting creamed. So close but so far. I'm a madness assasain and can normally burn anything down whilst khem tanks it. But not this guy. I'm pissed as it shows poor questline development if you can not defeat a class quest mob without either help or a very specific build.
  5. One of my Pet hates too. Is saying hello so ahrd? Not happened here but I have had to tell persistant invite spammers in other games to [insert expletive of choice here]. I prefer using Force Lightning on them instead.....
  6. Given his original postI think this may be his problem. They did specifically mention tryng not to aggro everything... If they don't have the firepower then don't round up all the mobs - just get what they can handle and rinse and repeat. Bring too much back - even trash and the group will get swamped.
  7. The Key is the Sith philosophy as stated: Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. This is revolution, rebellion and the breaking of ones own chains. Using raw passion to forge a will of iron to break those chains. It also hints at a possible very early Sith beginning in slavery and revolt. Adversity, trials, pain and suffering are to be endured and overcome. Survival and the act of fighting back makes you stronger and stronger till victory is won by your own hand and you gain mastery of yourself. It is a warrior ethos. For a light side Sith the aim would be personal mastery and strength of self. With it would come respect and honouring of those that also struggle to gain that mastery. Other Sith would be fellow warriors that have broken their chains through their own efforts. For a dark sided Sith it would be more about gaining the strength and power to gain the victory, even at the expense of others. Others are seen as competitors for the same victory. This is analogous to setting a group the same task - run 10 miles. Some will just want to prove they have the strength to run those 10 miles - and will happily encourage others on the race. Others will immedaitely start thinking about being first - even though it is a task not a race, they will turn it into one and may resent any that pass them. Thus separates the light from the dark side. Nowhere does it state that this power and strength is to be used to subjugate others. It is a personal battle for mastery of the self. Same as the Jedi, but from a differnt focus. However, just as the Jedi desire for personal peace lead them to seek to impose that same peace of others - whether they want it or not. The Sith passion, strength and power would lead inevitably to power seeking and warfare for challenges to overcome. This could be viewed as a warrior culture thriving on challenge, or as an aggresive violent culture depending on the point of view of the observers. For the Jedi and their imposition of peace - definately the latter. And the logical Jedi saw that the only solution to impose emotionless peace was genocide of the Sith. Surley an evil act if ever there was one, but rationalised as 'neccessary' for 'the greater good'. Is it any wonder that the Sith religion has become more angry and brutal and revenge orientated. Wouldn't you if someone tried Genocide on you? I believe that the original Sith faith was not intrinsicaly evil, nor is the Dark Side, but context and History have pushed it embittered into the Shadows where its worst traits have become magnified and risen to prominance. As with many religions great evil is being done in its name, but not as it actually teaches.
  8. Time. The Droid army was ready and on the march, with reinforcements pouring off the assembly line. The Republic had small planetary militia, but nothing like a standing army. Even a small volunteer force would have needed months of training and equipping, if not a year or two for the big items like Star Destroyers. time the Republic did not have. By the time they were ready the Droids would have been on Corusant and in control. But they were gifted the Clones - a pre made army to match the droids, and ready when needed. Ideally they should have been supplimented with a newly raised non-clone army of the Republic. But funding, and politcal manipulation would no doubt have blocked that. Not only Sith scheming, but politicians fear of sending their own to way when handy clones could be sent instead.
  9. "I am not afraid" "You will be..."
  10. Grind is when you have to spend 4 hours killing rats and other low level critters just to get high enough level to even start your first quest. Been there done taht, and this questing and enjoying the game ain't grinding. The only time I have ground content so far was when I was 95+% of the way through a level and mugged a couple of extra mobs on the way back to the trainers to ensure I got the ding and could grab the skills from the trainer I would be passing by. (Well Ok I admit my Sith Warrior does spend a lot of time killing everything in sight. But that's not grinding - he doesn't need the kills, he just enjoys it... :csw_vadertie::csw_vadertie:)
  11. First day I have ever been DC'ed, and looks like it a major issue today. Been DC'ed three times today as well. No idea if it is due to high demand, or other factors, but I can say this is the first time I've experienced it or heard of others having the same trouble. Not had or heard of it before today. Given that it worked fine before today 'launch day' even with all the pre-order wave people onbaord, I half suspect other factors - A Denial of Servie attack by the Digital Vandals to disrupt launch day for their kicks maybe? It's the kind of crap those muppets pull. Queues is a future population issue - delay too long and you hack off customers. Ramp up too quick and you get masses of dead servers in a couple of months (and often a lot of redundant hardware). Remember as well that the first few days is everyone trying to get. By the end of the second week people fall back into a regualr play time schedule and the queues should fall.
  12. Now we will get a glimpse of the true power of the force - the Dark Side. No doubt this will be required reading for all true Sith. [Already have it on pre-order.]
  13. Yep Han failed big time face to face on Bespin, but don't forget Han is the man who shot Vaders wingman in the Death Star trench and sent Vader spinning off. Vader didn't sense that, and it could well have been Vader himself next if he hadn't got knocked and spun off Lukes tail. It all comes down to how you fight...
  14. 77 for me as well. Was about 9 and went to see this new movie I had seen the trailers for. It's a cliche now, but sitting there with the big screen watching the opening was truly stunning. The Space ship flew past and then another ship came on chasing it, and it came on and on and on... there has never been a better 'holy crap' opening moment in a film ever. You have to remember as well Sci-Fi pre Star Wars was svaue and cultured sleek and elegant with square jawed impecable heroes on high pedastals well above mere mortals like us. Not a bunch of farmers, crazy old men and smugglers from a flea bitten backwater. These were ordinary people thrust into heroism. People we could all identify with. No longer did you need to be an elite best of the best with a decade of special ops training. All you needed was a couple of scrufy but good mates and a battered old vehicle to go save the galaxy and win the princess. Even a dork like me could manage that...
