  1. If the Knight marries Kira, you evetually get convo's (and mails.. lots of mails) from her concerning both marriage and the conception of children. Among those, she goes about researching the JEdi archives to find out whether our marriage is legal and what about kiddos. She discovers that while marriage is legal the couple is expected to live apart (like.. planets apart) and that they are occasionally visited by other Jedi to make sure they aren't getting too attached to each other. About conception the idea of two Jedi having children, she is silent. If you assume SWTOR is Canon (not sure I go for that, but whatevs) then it seems that Marriage between Jedi is officially sanctioned.. just extremely stupid. You are better off just banging your padawan and never marrying them and just never (letting them see you) form that "attachment" they seem so afraid of.
  2. When you define 'serious gamer" as someone who doesn't watch the cut scenes, it will of course be impossible to find a serious gamer who actually watches them. Being "serious" has nothing whatsoever to do with watching the cut scenes, listening to the dialogue, carefully weighing your selections and bringing your character to life. I'm not against having an option to skip it.. but saying that folks who actually care about the lore and story arent' "serious gamers" is just rubbish.
  3. Soo.. maybe they did run it. Maybe its their 50000000000th time running it. Why does that give someone the right to force you to skip it? The Op has a solution already. Announce skipping. kick folks who don't skip. Giving someone the power to arbitrarily skip convo's for me, is annoying to me. To flip the coin: I want to see the HM Esseles conversations. I advertise for a group. A group already formed invites me. I ask if we're listning to the convo's. They say yes. We go in. They skip them. I can either leave, or suffer through it. I'm just not in favor of a "you do what i say" button.. sorry. If someone does something you don't like, put them on the ignore list.. don't group with them again, etc. Make being a jerk matter *in* the community and you'll find fewer and fewer jerks.
  4. I don't disagree- but what would it look like on the character model? Currently, the 4 droids that you can mod out- the mods don't change their appearance one whit. (at least- not that i've seen.. if i'm wrong, please do say so). (2 ship droids, trooper droid and the IA droid. don't think there are more than those)
  5. eh, I liked ironforge. I want them to do away with the super duper lag there. Anything that does that, I'm a fan of. I'm not sure why its so friggin laggy but.. make it stop. If that means making the place brighter and prettier.. then count me in.
  6. I understand that to some extend, time sinks are part of playing an MMO. I expect it to take awhile to do things like.. cross from zone to zone and such. However- the problem in this game is that 80% of the current time sink is simply in loading screens. Its not in the ship moving slower or the movies being longer. Its not in a longer run across the planet.. but just in how many freaking 30+second long loading screens we have inflicted upon us going from planet to planet. (and heaven forbid you try to zone into Taris. still.) The solution is as follows: For planets with their own, on the ground, space port: Clicking the door to your spaceship brings up a menu. 1) your ship. 2) the fleet. 3 (and following) being every planet you have so far visited. For ships with their very own orbital space station: WHen you click the shuttle that currently takes you to the orbitation station it gives you a menu: 1) ship 2) fleet 3) the orbitation station 4 (and following) being every planet you have so far visited. This would allow someone to go to their ship (for dailies, or to go to new planets). This would skip the completely silly and redundant orbital station (which serves no purpose except to delay our getting to the planet or off the planet). Primarily though it would turn *four loading screens* into *one loading screen*. taking into account that once ON YOUR SHIP the exit door would have the same drop down as mentioned earlier. 1) planet you are orbiting 2) orbital station 3) cancel Please, please give us the option to skip multiple, completely pointless loading screens! I am absolutely tired of the loading screens alone taking up my game time. Enable point-to-point travel. (for places we've been before).
  7. I wouldn't mind that. or/and having the orbital base shuttle give an option to just zone directly to my ship.
  8. if I understand correctly, there is a medium armor wearing tank for the Imperial companions? Is what I've been told anyway. (I haven't explored much Imp side) Otherwise, I largely agree.
  9. I would like the option to change AC within about an hour of making the decision. (an hour logged into that character). This would allow someone who made a mistake to change it. Otherwise though? No. Changing from Shadow to Sage is playing an entirely different class. The same is true for all of them. The class changes fundamentally from AC to AC. This is evidenced by the entirely *different* set of skills you learn from your AC training tab. We have 8 character slots per server. There are 8 AC's per side. Coincidence? I think not. You need to think as carefully over which AC you choose as you do over which base class you choose. Swapping from Shadow to Sage is fundamentally the same as deciding you want to swap from Gunslinger to Trooper. If you want to change- roll up a new character. Thats my .02 anyway
  10. I lost roughly 10% of my crit damage from it. (on the character sheet) I need to (but haven't) find the numbers for what the soft cap is for surge so i can convert the rest to power. That would probably help recover somewhat. Not a huge, huge huge, nerf. but sitll- sucks to have to regear some enhancements.
  11. both knight and consular (males) and I've chosen to romance my padawan on each. The reasons were two fold: 1) curious how they wrote it. (liked Kiras, not so impressed with Nadia) 2) Abolutely *super* rep gain. and by super I don't mean 20. Try more like in the hundreds. Some of Nadia's convo gains were over *800* .. So far as is written it has no game effect other than to modify what conversation options you get with that single companion. (for example, Theran doesn't freak out that you are bumpin the padawan or anything).
  12. CC'ing a mob is considered an attack. Absent some other command, your companion will move into attack position to wait for you to tell it to break the CC. To prevent this, try one of the following: 1) tell them to attack something else, THEN CC the mob 2) put them on passive before you CC that mob, then order them into combat against something else. 3) CC the droid, then order him to attack (skipping passive altogether). Its working as intended.. its just "intended" a little odd.
  13. I, personally, loved the SI line.. and found it to be one of the better "companion acquisitions" for the first one among the 8. Makes up nicely for her tossing you your saber over a table instead of actually making it or some such. However- I was in tears over your "shuttle to Dromund Kaas" rendition. Thanks so much for that. really. I needed the heart felt belly laugh lol thats awesome. (poor twi'lek-on-a-stick)
  14. How worth it depends on the bonus mission.. Unfortunately- you have no idea if its worth it or not until it is done. At the very least they are worth Xp. Alot of them also give extra rewards when you turn the initial quest in. "staged" ones tend to at the very least give extra xp, cash, and 2-4 planet commendations and some give gear choices as well. Mainly though its the Xp. If you skip all the bonus missions and don't do the "Bonus Series" of quests you'll find yourself hard pressed to be at the correct level, without stepping out of the quest line to pvp or farm a few FP's. They are labeled bonus but they are really just another quest in the line. (at least, imo)
  15. I Hope they never do. The main advantage they had for the originals over the newer ones was the lack of CGI forced them to actually interesting, immersive sets. The newer SW movies lacked that for the most part, relying on some twit with a computer instead of actual sets and costumes. A remake might as well just be boiled down to 100% CGi like the clone wars cartoons. Its what they should have gone ahead and done with I II and III anyway just to keep it all computer generated instead of just 80%. I do realize some folks love that.. I'm just not one of them. I loved the real sets, the models, the ACTORS in COSTUMES playing the aliens (even Jabba) rather than the CGI crap that permates the world now days. It just made it seem all the more real. If they want to do a remake? remake I II and III into the likeness of their predecessors. At least then they might be worth watching.
