  1. Looking for a ranged dps and one other for our hardmode group. All that we ask is that you don't eat paste and show up for raids (or at least tell us when you can't). We're currently 3/10, people not showing up has been the bane of our progress. Raid Times: • Tuesday & Thursday 8pm -10pm EST • occasional weekend raids if people are online for gear optimization and alt runs. Gear and experience not required so long as you can avoid the circles of stupid and shoot/zap/stab the bad guys. Contact Us in game for more details: Raid Leader: Salarr, Adas More likely online: Nailik, Nailkita, Kitanail, McPantyStabber
  2. What he means by all that is contact one of us in game and we can give you a home if you who legion of squirrels anyone named nail-something or kit something is probably me. Or any of the names above mentioned for our guild leader's characters.
  3. Extra points if you make a squirrel or nut pun when contacting us.
  4. Thanks all for this thread. With this read and the tanking stats one, no one believed I was a fresh tank
  5. On another note, what do you guys use to track your tps, my guild uses torparse for ops runs, but I dont pay too much attention to how it works, as a healer threat's rarely an issue (with the exception of Hard Mode TFB Operator for some reason) and HPS is kind of pointless to care about as long as nobody's dying and one healer's not spending the whole ops having a panic attack. Is there something I can use to give me a good idea of how I'm doing in fps? I want to be a good tank >.<
  6. My first tank is just now 54 (hoping to hit 55 tonight with any luck) and she's in mostly 66s because I can craft the mods for her. I'm trying really hard not to taunt fluff, but I see why so many people might think it's a good idea. Trying to learn to tank once I hit 50, I'm spending a lot of time with crazy pugs that are higher levels and seem to think they can take a hit and getting the healer killed. So I spend a lot of time HAVING to taunt fluff because I'm having to work twice as hard to keep the healer safe, and stopping people from killing themselves (I know I should just let them die but as a healer main I'm too non-confrontational) I'm afraid though this is making me reliant on taunt fluffing in my rotation, after looking at these I'm thinking: Starting out: Sabre Throw > Force Leap > Smash > Crushing Blow > Sundering Assult Then a priority rotation of: Retaliation > Force Scream > Crushing Blow > Backhand And Force Dump: Vicious/Sweeping Slash (Backhand: depending if I might need it for an interrupt or stun) With so many abilities and wanting hot keys available for my like 50 tanking cooldowns, is ravage even something I should consider? Force Choke, and even Vicious throw I see as having usage, but with the channeling and cooldown ravage just seems a waste of my attention.
  7. I always keep hots up on my sorc buddies once I see their force dip a bit, costs me very little resources to ensure they don't have to be as concerned that their regen will get them killed.
  8. Very good points, it helps to be patient, everyone was new once, I was very lucky when I started, I announced at the beginning of each fp that I'm new and will need a run down of anything important, and I had some very understanding pugs explain quickly what I needed to know and things went smoothly (helped that I'm an experienced healer from WoW), I didn't even have my first bad pug till I was doing 50 HMs. Now though, for some reason I'm running into bad pugs more often that I don't understand, on my late 30s lvl merc healer I'm running into a lot of people with ADHD (running off to click on the quest things during HK) not knowing how to play as the vets I'm used to playing with do, but also not listening, or thinking they're doing an amazing job since I'm keeping them all alive through the crazy... There's nothing wrong with being a newbie, but being a noob is very frustrating, please know the difference.
  9. I always let a tank know I'm ready by refreshing their hots or shield, if they take a while I spam it mor obviously (as I get bored on my operative lately) I will only dps with guildies, pug groups I'm all heals, with the odd orbital strike. As a tank I get scared if I find myself being spikey (jug tank) which makes me way more cautious about my survivability which sometimes hurts threat gen that can make things chaos (I'm not a comfortable tank)
  10. I leveled both my op and sorc as a healer, and am now around lvl 38 on my merc as a healer, I find with the right companion that most 2+ heroics are solable (especially on my op with stealth). I even usually found that fp queues were as fast as my tank queues on my jug, faster even. Overall it's easy, may not be the fastest unless you run a lot of fps, since things won't die as fast . Some Class quests may give a bit of challenge if you don't play smart, but other than that it's not painfully difficult.
  11. Don't need nerfs, and we need more hardmodes. I was a bit behind on hitting 55, and had heard some scary things from my guildies about healers not being able to keep them alive, but when I hit 55 did a few dailies to get some 66 gear, it was tougher healing(was glad to have a challenge), but really wasn't a painful mess. We played smart and adapted, and now I'm quite bored of hardmode on my operative and only bring her out for ops and pvp, or helping out fresh 55 guildies that need a safety net. My sorc on the other hand had barely gotten tionese gear, and I didn't really upgrade anything when she hit 55, so she was still in pretty crap gear, (including a lvl 37 implant I somehow missed) Her first hardmode was tough but not impossible Athiss, up until beast when I realised the tank had as much health as my sorc, we replaced the tank, new tank was concerned with my gear, but everything went smoothly, he pulled according to my resources, and it was tough, but we didn't wipe. Play smart, don't just face roll and you'll be fine,I doubt my sorc would have done as well if healing wasn't 95% of what I do in the game. But the stuff isn't too hard.
  12. The yelling at him would be the problem, you could have mentioned that the stats aren't built for him, and that its an upgrade for him. Especially when you're in the first fp, some people don't know yet. I've had plenty of people apologize and hand over gear to the person that can use the stats. Personally when it comes to the lower level stuff I'm indifferent when a "ninja" happens, I appreciate people asking if they could roll for their companions if no one else needs it. But when in doubt until you're lvl 50-55 and need the gear to be viable for ops don't stress so much about it. Attacking first will just make people get defensive, and/or they'll keep the gear out of spite. -- On to weird stories: I had an Athiss 55HM run that was going okay, I was on my my sorc, so I figured that that's why I was having a little trouble keeping the tank up, so I just burned through my force a bit more and the first boss went allright, the trash after that got a little tough but I prepared for it and threw out a lot of big heals to compensate. Well the second boss didn't go as well, we wiped a few times and they were all yelling at me for my bad heals, but as the tank left I realized he had about as much health as my barely tionese sorc... next tank came in was unsure of my gear but the rest of the instance was smooth. I'm glad that second tank came in and that I eventually saw the health of the first tank, it was really starting to hurt my confidence (though notice how I was blamed before the tank for the wipes). From now on it does make me look at tanks health before I start
  13. Operative (also first 55) - I enjoy healing - looked fun and interesting - heard the story line was epic - Liked the Chiss race (even though now she's human for the long curly red hair, but allows me a Chiss Sorc) I'm glad it was, I love healing on my operative compared to my other healers.
  14. I've hit the cap enough times that it's annoying me, I do buy for my companions, I'm saying it would be advantageous for the ability to pre-buy gear while leveling. 1 GF run gets you I think around 5 from bosses (give or take) and then the daily gives you 5, then the weekly gives you 10, they also drop randomly on mobs, most of the time in quests it's either a com or a random green piece so I'll grab a comm if there's no upgrade so that I can buy future upgrades or mods, or artifact boxes. Again I would just rather be able to spend them ahead of time so I don't have find the vendors when I'm in a leveling groove. I don't understand why we can no longer do this. The warzone ones aren't as obnoxious, just sad that I have to wait for more pieces (I'm primarily pve, so I'm not exactly farming WZs), at least I'm never below 50 adrenals and 50 medpacs at any time.
  15. Must just be shadowlands I'll have to hunt some down, or the way you all make it sound I should roll my own
