When I craft something sometimes it has an augment slot on the item but most times it doesn't. Is there any way of increasing the chance of getting a augment slot on what I craft?

I am new to Flashpoints, very. I was on a Flashpoint doing well and someone in my group calls me a ninja. I thought a ninja I must be doing REALLY good. I was about to say, "I know right! 8-). Then he kicked me off the group. I thought that was no way to treat a ninja! So, I was there all alone in a strange ship and a little scared, too. I read over what happened and I NEVER hit "greedy" for the stuff that we found. But, I rolled for them "need". I won more than most but everyone had the same chance as me. So, my question is do I pass on the lower stuff and let them have it. This freeing me up to hit "need" on the good stuff??? Seems strange when you roll it's random and you don't know what's coming and someone has to get the lower stuff. Ninja (when they were cool)

I have unlocked HK-51 is he now available to all my characters that I have?? And if so how do my other character see/use him?
