    some fashion-related stuff..
  1. I just wanted to say, that the recent expansion has seriously improved the quality of life and made the game and systems much clearer. Also the addition of new layers of armor customization is brilliant. So I guess I simply mean: thank you, Devs. I've been a long time subscriber, but haven't logged in for a long time. Now it feels good to be back. Good to see that the game has some new content and quality to offer, rather than only Cartel Market additions.
  2. "doodlin"?! if I was able to draw like this I would be super proud, and tell everybody how awesome I am - this is no doodling - this is some serious, quality drawing! I love it!
  3. I never liked the costume slots, that were there for pure aesthetics. I preferred to wear stuff that was actually giving me the stats. Having said that - I do understand why people do like it, and I know what you mean. I have just created an Imperial Agent toon, and my idea for this character is to have sort of 2 sides to him. So on one hand he's a bit of an adventurer, admiring and appreciating the universe around him, gathering art, relics, and setting a cool, sexy, rich-looking apartment on Nar Shaddaa. And that side would be reflected in his looks, that might be a bit less like the one for an Imperial Agent, and more for a Smuggler, or an Adventurer. On the other hand he IS an Imperial Agent, and that's the most important part of his life. So I want to be able to wear Imperial Uniform on the Fleet, or Dromund Kaas. Having a slot dedicated purely for the looks would make it much easier.
  4. Naaah, don't say that. It's not that simple. They do develop this game pretty decently. I was a huge fan of Everquest 2, before it got simplified and WoW-ized, and eventually made the game totally not fun to me. But then I moved to WoW, and I really enjoyed it. The thing is - WoW makes sense the way it is. Other games trying to become like WoW - basically commit suicides. I loved preCU and preNGE SWG, then they tried to be like WoW, introduced NGE and killed the game. But having loved the old, amazing, almost endless and difficult SWG, I also enjoyed WoW. You say it's simple - yeah, but it's also fun, because it's easy to digest. I received a free week of play from Blizzard before the latest expansion, and... I really enjoyed it. For the first time in 4 years I did enjoy it. But I basically left the game somewhere at the end of 2009. Today unfortunately it still seems to be the best proposal for people desiring a fantasy MMO. And what did I like about WoW? Was it the simplicity? Not really... I loved that it was an almost living, breathing world, with things happening there, with the feeling of immersion for me. This is something I lack very much in The Old Republic - the planets seem a bit like instances, I don't get the feeling that I am exploring a planet, but rather a set of maps. Architecture is very similar, also fauna often doesn't differ that much. On top of this - I have absolutely no reason to visit different parts of the galaxy. I just follow the quests... that makes me feel a bit like a drone focused on missions, rather than a sentient being living a life in this amazing Galaxy. Having said that - I do LOVE The Old Republic, and even though I would prefer to have some stronger feeling of this open world, I understand the restrictions (though in SWG planets did feel like, well... planets), but I still pay monthly sub, and can't see myself NOT subbing TOR .
  5. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it will not be Revan, though looking at the lore - there's absolutely no problem in bringing him into the New Republic era. I do believe, however that old Sith armors (the acolyte armor is pretty similar to Revan's mask) serve as an inspiration here. Whoever this character is, he/she will probably be fascinated with the Sith as something from the pages of history... with the victory of Rebels, after decades of Sith domination - Dark Side, and Sith ideology are most probably banned, or at least persecuted, so I would assume that whoever is fascinated by that Dark past will try to style him/herself based on the ancient, or fairly modern Sith... so why not use Revan (or someone alike) as a role model? Why not try to follow Vader's steps... at least styling-wise. Something tells me that there will be more than just one villain. As well as I get the feeling that we will get a strong female villain. First of all because that would potentially widen the fanbase, secondly because there are simply not enough strong female characters in the SW movies. I do admit however, that I'm not impressed by the teaser. I don't get the whole "black stormtrooper" discussion, because - first of all we see the guy in the armor, but don't know if he's a trooper or not; secondly 50-60 years have passed since the Clone Wars, and Storm Troopers ARE NOT Clone Troopers; and thirdly I see no reason why the Empire would be picky about the skin color of their soldiers... they were racists towards aliens (or at least that's the feeling we get through lore, and the appearance the Empire has in the movies), but I don't think their racism touched humans. But that's just my reasoning. So I really don't get this part of the discussion that goes around the teaser, and I find it quite annoying tbh. But the way this guy appears in the teaser is simply... comical. It looks like straight from a parody. Reminds me of a "Space Balls" trooper played by Tim Russ, saying to Rick Moranis playing "Vader" (was it Lord Helmet? ) "we ain't found s**t". And then we have this strange lightsaber with idiotic "handguards". It just doesn't look like a lightsaber blade to me, but rather like an electrostaff. But still - I'm excited. The teaser (combined with the release of Shadow of Revan) brought me back to TOR, and incited the flame of old love for Star Wars. I feel once again enchanted by the "galaxy far, far away", and can't wait to sit down to the computer and play my character, find his reasons, motivations, emotions, and life in The Old Republic. Wow... I wrote a lot, but the bottom line is: nope, I don't think it's Revan... but I would love to see him there .
  6. Yes, there will be people coming to TOR, and I'm pretty confident they already are. Releasing Shadow of Revan around the premiere of the teaser was also a brilliant move (though I don't know if it was coincidence or plan). And it is always a good thing when population gets larger in the game. Even on PvP servers .
  7. Didn't actually go yet to the new locations, as I came back after some time, and decided to roll a new toon, but I feel like the game is going into the right direction. Seems that it bounced back from the bottom it almost hit before going F2P, and personally I'm enjoying it. Good job Devs - keep it up! We need more, more and more. Would be cool to also have some content that's for low lvl character to get even more new players into the game.
  8. I actually like the changes, even the switch to disciplines. First of all it requires me to re-think my strategies, and how I play my characters. Secondly - we still have options to chose, to have subtle differences between characters, and it makes it all look much more clean and clear. I am just rolling a new toon, to experience the game, with the new advanced class mechanics, from the beginning. Plus - I never really played Imperial Agent, so it seems like a good moment to try this class (I do suck at stealth classes, but I usually kicked *** as a healer, so I'm hoping that I will manage to be a decent Medic ). Just need to decide on the server... Anyway - what I wanted to say is - it's great to see someone write something positive for a change, and I'm totally on board with you here. I believe that this expansion moves the game into the right direction, and I am excited for the future.
  9. Dear OP, this is not the game, you are looking for, move along, move along..
  10. I love the chance for open world PvP, but I find the EU PvP server to be... well not "star warsy" enough - it seems that many F2P PvP players that come to PVP server don't care how they name their characters, not to mention some other annoying things, that simply spoil my immersion. So... I thought of joining an RP-PvP server, but since I'm in Europe, and would be usually playing during the week at hours such as 19-23 CET, and probably earlier on weekends, I'm not sure if there will be enough people to play through the group content, etc. Can someone please tell me how the population of the server is in those hours, that aren't necessarily US peak time? Are there any EU players, guilds, etc.? I tried to search for such thread, but didn't really find it (could be that I suck at doing research though ), but I hope I'm not doubling any threads . Looking forward to getting some info, as I would love to start a new toon on this server today . After all - combination of RP and open world PvP in the "galaxy far, far away" seems like a gamers' dream to that geek .
  11. Well I just created a new toon yesterday, so one more person to populate the server ... though I am considering playing on the US RP-PvP server... I came back to this server after few months. Initially I went away, because the community seemed immature, and the Dromud Kaas chat was annoying to say the least. But I guess open world PvP simply attracts also people who seem to be not entirely capable of social interactions .
  12. Exactly - most of the things my Jedi is doing - are done not because of rewards (often, since he's a light Jedi, when it's possible I refuse a reward). Obviously this is an MMO game - so all in all we do everything for fun, not because we are members of some ancient order, but this is a lore section, and I'm playing on RP server, so while getting into the role of my Jedi, I would like to understand his motives to hunt down people (it doesn't matter in a long run if he brings them alive or not - the question is - why would he go after them?).
  13. So, as tomorrow we will be able to take on bounty hunting assignments (which is totally awesome, and reminds me slightly of the old SWG days), I was thinking - how can we justify (lore-wise) picking up such mission by a Jedi? I am leveling a Sage, and quite honestly am having hard time justifying the fact of Sage hunting someone down for money.. Any ideas?
  14. Totally awesome! Even though as a chronic altaholic I never got to level 50 (working on that though... with 4 toons... on 3 different servers ) I still think it's awesome. Especially the reputation system. Will it also be possible to buy some cool looking moddable gear depending on faction standing?
  15. Umm actually I agree with you . And the SW feeling is great! I would love more RP settings, some events, etc. but all in all the game's fun.
