  3. Hello! If you are new to TOR, whether that means a free player or recent subscriber, I would like to let you know about my guild, the Lost Order of Akalabeth. Founded in 1996, the Lost Order of Akalabeth (LOA) is one of online gaming's oldest and strongest guilds. We believe our success has come from our unique approach to creating a community where our friendships are more important than the games we play. Our motto, "Friendship transcending worlds", and statements like, "Games come and go, but LOA is forever", illustrate what is at the core of LOA. Our presence in SWTOR wasn't entirely up to expectations, honestly. When the game launched over a year ago, we had very strong representation from our members (originally on the Canderous Ordo server before the consolidations). However many burned out quickly, leaving just a core few members dedicated to the love of this game and to our continued success. But success means continuing to adapt. Because we are not, at this time, Operation ready, we have re-focused our guild efforts to both the social elements of TOR, and to helping others. That means we cooperate to achieve mutual goals, as well as simply taking the time to talk to new players who have questions about this game. Lost Order of Akalabeth (LOA) has a guild on both factions. We started on the Empire side of the game, and often still run our daily level 50 missions there... however the recent thrust of our activity is with the Republic side, and that's where we are best able to offer new players the social experience that will help get maximum enjoyment from SWOTR. Our Republic guild is <Lost Order of Akallabeth> (using two Ls). If you are interested in becoming a valuable part of our team, either reply here or send me a private message!
  4. It's all about airflow. I play via laptops as well, and utilize two basic things to keep the temperature out of the red. First, be sure that the laptop is propped up so that there is space between it and the surface it's resting on. Even half an inch is better than nothing. Second, create airflow with a fan. I have a small USB-powered fan that I generally use, and direct the airflow into the gap underneath the laptop. If that isn't sufficient then I'll grab a small desk fan and use that to create a cross-breeze. This helps enormously, but has the unfortunate side-effect of making my hands cold and stiff. I guess it's the price I pay for a laptop's portability. This solution is far from ideal, but its cheap and reasonably effective.
  5. The Gunslinger's Jacket is along those lines.
  6. Very interesting, and having recently taken a statistics course, impressively methodical as well. I commend you, sir. And I'll agree with the poster above - the list is handy. I'll keep this bookmarked as a reference even if I won't hold my breath for any changes.
