Melee in this game....falling asleep
USCLawStudent replied to fluffyrainbow's topic in General Discussion
I personally enjoy the non-auto attack. I don't see myself not standing around derping while the gcd resets. Each class gets an attack that doesn't consume your resource to use in place of an auto attack, but for the purpose of pacing and recharging. -
If this game didn't have the name Star Wars behind it..

So you've had a game that hasn't crashed once until tonight and you are going to quit over that? ...ok? Also, there is a post from a swtor official stating that fixes for the combat response is going to be deployed over the next few patches. -
Post here if you've never lagged in Fleet.

Is there any reason to play as Republic?
USCLawStudent replied to HeroXx's topic in General Discussion
I guess my question is how does an imbalance of characters on a server equate to an imbalance on the win/loss ration in warzones? Lets say Empire has 6,000 players and Republic has 4,000 players (assume all are at level cap). Games don't start if there is a significant difference in players in a warzone (You won't see an 8-4 warzone unless the game glitched). So, with all that said you end up having an 8-8 warzone. Now, you say Empire wins ~60% of the time. If everyone is level 50 (as you stated it's hard to NOT be level 50 by now), then it does not come down to server imbalance. It comes down to skill imbalance. If Empire wins ~60% of the time then it means they generally have more skilled players than the Republic side. What would you have bioware do, short of scrambling servers? -
Does anyone not craft and not use the market?
USCLawStudent replied to Palenen's topic in General Discussion
I've got Slicing, Scavenging and Bioanalysis and I'm doing just fine. I don't run the missions, just harvest the nodes. I'm saving everything from Bioanalysis so I can do my Biochem crafting at 50. I'll sell all my scavenging stuff on teh AH when I'm 50 also. -
Read my initial post. This is a debilitating issue and I hope a full fix can be found. However, I would say that the overwhelming majority of the player base is not experiencing this issue, which is very strong evidence that this is not a server issue but an issue that can be found in a common linkage in the systems of the affected.

Legacy: Allow your other character as a Companion?

Any idea how much coding this would require? -
I'll take it as a server issue when Bioware states it is, rather than a random forum user. As you (nor I, nor poster in said thread) are Bioware employees and therefor do not have access to the server-side, we are unable to make a claim as to whether it is indeed a server issue or a client issue. However, since a majority of their subscribed players are actively playing the game, it speaks volumes as to which side the issue belongs with.

You think there is loot drama now? Just wait....

I'm assuming BH 2 already has equal or higher quality leggings? Still should be able to role. After all the mods are the value of the leggings, not the leggings themselves. -
Again, if this was a server issue, there would be many many more people affected by this (a majority even)! This looks to be a client issue. It doesn't make it any less detrimental to those it affects, but the number one thing to do is to not blame Bioware for this. I'm sure if you ran windows 95 you would not be able to run this game launcher correctly either. First, fully uninstall every single file you have for SWTOR Second, defrag your computer Third, update antivirus and drivers Fourth, drink some tea. Will calm you down. Finally, get a clean install of the game. If you are still having problems with the launcher, then go through every single fix listed in that thread one of the others posted. If you are still having problems, send an email to Bioware support directly. Make a post in the support forum as well. No matter what, GD is not the forum for you to get any help on this. Sounds harsh, but thats the truth. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get this resolved soon.

What's the best way to report someone?
USCLawStudent replied to Bloodtau's topic in General Discussion
Well if you feel as though it is a true exploit, just send a ticket in with the details. Posting their name on here is a sure way to get yourself banned. -

Are you sure they are exploiting and not having lag? In a lot of games, you can't damage someone who is lagging, due to some weird glitch. Can't ban people for having crappy computers. -
I'm not sure. I found this though if it helps: http://i.imgur.com/K5zC4.jpg

While many people have posted they are having fps problems, they are a vocal minority. There is a silent majority that are not having problems. I have lag terribly in Taris to the point where I plan on skipping it on my next toon. If the lag you and others are experiencing throughout the game is indeed as crippling as you say, you need to realize that by the fact that many people are also not experiencing it, it is most likely not a server issue. If it was a server issue, it would be affecting way more people (i.e. taris lag).
