  1. THIS!! creates communities offline for sustainability long term. IMO this is the major reason why the 'other' game is so successful. 3rd party websites for downloading and sharing that content keeps the game alive and fresh. Allowing a system for community created content would squash that competitive edge and give you resources to make game content not a GUI. Community content is the best you can ever dream for. "They" have the monopoly on it. I hope you are listening. This game has amazing potential.
  2. I've yet to group with my level 50 characters. What is your point?
  3. 1. Tharan - healing, keep his offensive on if you like. 2. Attack from furthest distance outside the door - do not go into his area. 3. Move forward then back when he targets you for ranged 4. Interrupt as often as you can. 5. Be more worried about interrupting than hurting him.
  4. I was unable to participate as I was racing toward 50 / legacy 6 to get the free month. Because I was interested in pursing other activities and because I was on a PVE server - it was a setback that I could not find a stim to fix the issue on the fleet. There may have been one but I could not find it - I blew up on my ship AFK to get it over with. PVE should have a participation switch for these types of events. I know folks will call me trolling and this will unlikely get noticed by the folks that should see it, but I am posting anyway.
  5. This and everything that is done feels 'controlled'. There is lack of a free flowing environment. It feel strange to go back and look at a world completed - "I don't belong here". It feel weird and very strange to go back and look for datacrons. Nothing unique to call mine - BW does not allow an ability to completely control one's game play. Blizz did this by allowing full control over the gui - not a GUI 'designer' but they allow communities to create and share unique addons via an lua api. This is the real issue with being unable to compete with Blizzard. This alone creates massive communities of sharing and individual expression through creating something. There is no 'look at my XYZ' factor at all. SWTOR has already come out and said it wasn't happening. No community - There is no reason to go beyond swtor.com currently. The major MMO news sites are not covering SWTOR because there seems to be a "meh" factor. If 3rd parties can't make money, there will be no mass interest regardless how good the game is.
  6. /agreed Here are the problems with this solution: The community for SWTOR is in shambles and virtually non-existant right now. Doing anything that will hinder the community even further is not good for anyone more especially BW. This splits up the community by saying that one group of people is more deserving over another. People don't like it when people are put into groups and get benefits because of it: sex, race, lifestyle, diet, age, playstyle We all have opinions and will state them very directly - to each group they seem aggressive and cold. Name calling pursues - are you an idiot? Why don't you care? Be thankful you twit! etc... Treat everyone the same or expect backfire. This is human nature. BW just lit a very short fuse.
  7. You kinda proved my point. Go back and read what I said. This 'solution' is only creating negativity and breeding ideas like you are spreading. Like if I have an opinion about this very focused gift; I must be silly, dumb or illogical. It's not the gift at all - it is the way it is being handled that has me questioning if they even realize the very fragile state of community we have... or even if that is a concern to them. Mark my words, it will only get worse unless they fix this very soon.
  8. This is all wrong BW. You are labeling everyone and empowering group think. You are forcing play styles and creating animosity. This isn't creating long term communities - this is very bad and insulting. You are pitting neighbor against neighbor. This "community" is very fragile right now and falling apart as it is. The more I see the handling of this cluster, the more uncomfortable I am getting. This "solution" just made it a whole lot worse on the community at large, not better. Thanks, but you may want to re-think this or we will be reading even worse things about this game in less than six months.
  9. I've not judged you in the slightest - you play your game the way you see fit. But do not say that my game play is radical or wrong because I chose to play the game in a style I see fit. I do not see myself as antisocial (I am not btw) I view it more as not relying on other people to get the end result I am looking for. Grouping is a risk I would rather not do until I get into a guild - which I will probably start looking for well after I reach top level and researched the type of people I am looking for. I am not insisting or demanding anything. I am saying it is confusing and rather silly to have so many currencies in this game. I am a 15+ year MMO vet and do not have to defend myself to you. These currencies are a major design flaw from my point of view. If you disagree - okay - but do not criticize my game style choices to fulfill the lack of quality in your person. If you think the currencies are fine the way they are - carry on. You've defended your position. I disagree and think they are ruining game experiences for many.
  10. What gives you the right to say or judge the way I play a game that I pay for? This game is really a single player game with the ability to group added on. Think again if you believe my position is unique. Many of us have been burned way too many times in other MMOs and are not interested in traversing that path again. You would be shocked if you saw the number of people that refuse to group and how non-exisitant it really is - even on full servers. You didn't clear up anything. The currency system needs attention. If the goal is to get me to go back and get or spend for each planet - their goal is fail. By the time I've racked up enough to purchase something worth having, I've already out leveled the area. I've purchased two things so far and both times the ending planet class mission was a duplicate or better than what I had purchased. So again, I do not understand the value or the reasoning for them. PVP is another issue - I am glad they decided to utilize only one system in 1.2.
  11. I completely disagree. To me it makes the game more confusing. You kinda hit the nail on the head. If I don't figure it out through game play or it isn't quickly available in the forums in a quick search or on torhead.com then I will unlikely know it. Grouping doesn't appeal to me. I like this idea!
  12. I just don't see why they do not make them tiered and easy to understand. 20+ currencies are annoying and too complicated. This is very bad design. Good in concept but only on paper. One would think they looked at other MMO's failures and tried not to repeat them. On mission completion, I deliberately do not chose them cause I don't want to take the time to look up what they are used for. I'm a 15yr MMO vet and mark my words, many more of these will be consolidated. I just hope they do it soon.
  13. Apparently currency is a big boy term.
  14. Credits - planets - pvp - fleet - flashpoints.... All these currencies make this game confusing.
  15. No offense, but I do not think you understand my concerns. But you are right in that we all have different definitions of 'casual'.
