Enjoying quality computer games. SWTOR has proven not to be among them.
  1. Note that you still need an active subscription at the time the hybrid model is launched, or you won't get anything. This may apply to any and all other offers as well. Just wanted to make sure you guys all read the text at the bottom, because EA/BW still loves their word-games. So if you did cancel your subscription, you will still need to reactivate it by paying at least $15 in order to obtain these coins (provided they don't simply state a release date but then postpone it 2 days before release just to get people to subscribe -> remember Ranked Warzones?)
  2. I don't believe they said 500k was anywhere near the profitable mark. It was the break-even mark to my understanding. So 500k would not be viewed as profitable as far as I can see. But please correct me if I am wrong.
  3. Start over? No thanks. Make Kotor 3? Yes please.
  4. Hooded masks: Available soon for 2000 Cartel Credits Seriously though, I fear that something similar is going to happen. However, we all saw the hoodless Jedi Battlelord armor being used on official screenshots, but only the hooded version was found in the game. So don't get your hopes up of things you see in official screenshots. Actual available ingame material may differ from material used in presentations.
  5. Only the old 1-50 story, mind you. You can unlock an expanded storyline and level-cap increase for only 3000 Cartel Coins per character class.
  6. You know, could it have been possible for them to adopt a B2P model instead? Probably if it was designed from the start, but I fear that this hybrid was the only available option considering the sheer amount of money that was pushed into the development cycle. To me it seems that they need their 500k+ subscribers in order to try and get their investment back. If they already had it and were in the 'green', I feel that a B2P conversion similar to GW2 could have worked. Everyone retaining access to everything and getting some coins for the months of subscription and then have Legacy, XP-boosters, Outfits and future content as unlocks from the shop. Yet now it seems that the wedge will only be driven in further... Not that it matters to me as I've already given up hope for the way EA treats their existing and returning customers. The same word-games and empty promises are still in effect. CE owners? Yeah, they get 1000 bonus coins; but only when they have an active subscription at the time the game adopts the hybrid model. So if CE owners want the 1000 bonus coins, they first need to pay $15 for them.
  7. So, anyone find this supposed 'main thread'? I sure as hell can't seem to find it through the search feature. Guess those ********es were too lazy to use it themselves in order to verify if one actually exists or not.
  8. Oh, this is rich. I'm offering advice so that next time people can use such links and funnel them to the correct thread and you just had to make a pointless ******** remark telling me to go use the search feature?
  9. Maybe you could include a link to this 'main existing thread' next time instead of providing a pointless post.
  10. I do not hate SWTOR. I hate word-games, empty promises and band-aid solutions after months of bleeding. So if anything, I hate EA for destroying what could have had the potential at being a good game.
  11. They are only talking about posting privileges? So I assume that F2P players are still allowed to read what's going on in other forums? But yes, providing some form of posting privileges would be nice. Otherwise this whole 'third rate citizen' treatment will do more harm than good in my opinion.
  12. Because the offer is initially viewed as a means to reward those that pulled out their wallets and supported BioWare with the full $150/€150 for the Collector's Edition when the game launched. However, by reading the fine print at the bottom they find out that not only do they need to have purchased a Collector's Edition, but they also need an active subscription during the transition to the free-to-play model. The point I'm trying to make is that EA once again makes it look like they're awesome and in it to reward those that supported them from the start, but by reading the notes at the bottom you see their promises for what they really are. They have no intention to reward CE owners for their purchase; only those that still give them $$$ up until the point they open up the F2P option.
  13. No no, GW2 is B2P actually. People still have to pay ($60-$150 depending on version) for the game itself, but server access is free.
  14. 1. How many characters will F2P players be able to have/keep? 2. How many inventory slots will F2P players be able to have/keep? 3. Will F2P players have access to their cargo bay at all? If so, how many tabs will be available? 4. Will F2P players be able to join/remain in guilds? Can they be officers? 5. How many Credits are F2P players allowed to have/keep? 6. How limited is 'Limited Access' and what does it mean exaxctly? I'm referring to the following:
