  1. Doesn't it already only let you tab target what you can see on the screen? Pretty sure if i see a group of mobs, rotate my camera and see a lone patrol tab targeting only gets the lone mob.. as far as distance, there is an option in the settings to bind a key for target nearest. Regarding the issue of seemingly random targeting, i think it's due to movement. I recall something similar happening in Warhammer Online.. if you (or hte targets) moved at all, then the tab-targeting calculations began from scratch again.. could be something similar happening here. This would be why it works well in PvE and less so in PvP, where there is a lot more movement.
  2. My guess is they just wanted to A) concentrate the population B) look like they were making progress after game launch. Warhammer Online had a lot of warzones .. it had a lot of pvp zones. it had objectives in the pvp zones that were worth a damn. it had pvp rewards that got you engaged in those objectives and rewarded you more for getting kills in a smaller group than a larger one, while still giving you a reason to work towards a larger goal. Not much reason they have only 3 warzones other than by choice. and imo, the reasons i listed above make the most sense. not that i like it.
  3. THe problem is I don't think people are actually dying to 6 weak enemies.. My guess is that on the 2nd box people are just looting and running. This is possible because you loot, the mobs spawn.. whereas some other games have you TRY loot, get popped on and then you are able to loot when the mobs are dead.

    Commando PVP Help

Snipers and Gunnery/Arsenal are supposed to do ridiculous damage if left unmolested. Location is, therefore, important. There are well-geared Commando's on my server who are capable players and can definitely do well in 1v1 situations.. but that's not what they should be doing.. (or what they normally do). You should be at a comfortable range and engaging targets who are not going to locate you until it's too late, because they are busy doing something else. As for sniper vs Gunnery.. dunno what to tell you. People tell me Commando is more straight dps and Sniper has more "oh ****" buttons. PS: a dps with Guard or Heals is a real pain. One with both ....
  5. TLDR: 1) Having objectives in the zone that are worth a damn will break up the concentration of players (have to split to cap/defend/attack) 2) Most of game mechanic is based aroudn concentrating players to avoid emptiness (only 3 wzs, levels 1-49 together instead of in tiers, only one 'real' pvp zone). I'm guessing they want to avoid ghost-towns which will cause players to pronounce doom. 3) Rewards are not split between groupmembers but are instead given to all (zerg to win) 4) I'm guessing they will put in a good system after a little while, because that's what they do.. give you crap and then put a strawberry on it a month later to make you feel it improved.. when they could have done that to begin with. Full version By placing objectives that provide benefit and an objective (besides a ridiculous light-show bombing of the base) and there will be an actual reason for zergs to split up and defend territory. It will actually make sense for turtled people to speeder out to the other areas and for the campers to send people after them. I can only guess that the reason for only 3 warzones, the reason for placing levels 1-49 together in warzones and for Ilum being the only "real" pvp zone with even a half-assed objective is to concentrate the population so you don't have a ghost town. Warhammer Online had similar systems.. keeping Pvp Zones and Warzones in 10-level tiers, but that was problematic with low populations in those tiers. Warhammer also had a good system for splitting up zergs, specifically having multiple zones and multiple objectives within them with an overall REASON to do more than spawn camp... not to mention the fact that Valour/RPs were SPLIT between groupmembers so zerging gained you less reward. For that matter, I hope they put in the token system of Warhammer so killing players got you tokens to roll for in group.. . ..but, again, I'm guessing they will change this after the initial month or two and call it a brilliant new feature......right now I'm canceled and will wait and see what happens.
  6. On the other hand, if all she heard was various remarks about killing people and r.aping people I'm not surprised she'd be concerned.
  7. If they're taking more damage it's probably because they are being focused for being right in the middle of everything, AND they are probably getting healed too.. your health is a finite supply, after all.. to take more damage than you have health (per death) you must be getting healed. A tank archetype in the thick of things is doing his job and getting attention, whether or not they are tank specced.. which means they will absorb more damage than other classes
  8. I'm assuming this is on a non-pvp server, as on my server I ran into a lowbie farming chests and killed him every once in a while. A well-geared guy from a well-known guild came out and killed me while i was fudging around the PvE daily, but I'm guessing not related. Could be, could be not. At the time I was just thinking it was an alt on a second computer and not something so automated as what is described here. So.. would a simple solution be to turn Ilum into a PvP world? EDIT: must admit I didn't read the whole thread.. a few pages back someone mentioned noclip hacks. well, I guess that's beyond my solution.

    Tracer Spam

I can live with the way things are now, but I would like the Commando/Vanguard abilities to be as noticeable as the BH ones.. Grav Round is not as noticeable as Tracer.. and Death From Above is way more flashy than their equivalent. Fun in PvE, but paints a huge sign on your head in PvP. Similar to pebbles vs lightning.
  10. You're amusing. Just remember that in your self congratulatory, mad posting-spree that ceiling cat is watching you **********.
  11. I said they were incompetent (or lying) specifically for posting that it was fixed in the patch notes when nothing was actually done to it. They either put it in knowing that it hadn't been fixed, or -they have no idea what is going on between their teams -they didn't bother to verify that patch notes match recent work done by patching team.. for weeks.
  12. Your team is lying or incompetent; which is it? And my question applies solely to the specific item of having the patch notes say it was fixed for weeks, seeing the test server results and putting it live when it is incorrect. This is not just a failing of one person, the supervisor(s) bear responsibility as well. I'm not even going to get into the actual problem of WZ wins not counting since.. forever.
  13. The range is not that far. You cannot be standing behind the firepit and still get pulled to the goal. If you get off the ramp you may be in range.
