  1. I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my second life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same, except I could fly.
  2. They are expensive because they know people will PAY.
  3. One HUGE change I've noticed is how they've managed the economy (money in, money out). I had myself in a rage over the cost to strip mods out of stuff and how little credits you got from PvP and flashpoints, the things I enjoy doing. They've made changes to both in recent patches and the cost/credit loss is much less painful. I can actually strip mods for my companions and not think I'm sending myself to the poor house! It is very easy to get credits with dailies if you want them, and now the things that I spend money on most frequently are just that much more affordable. Also, I love the push towards making everything moddable. I love that the offhand shields/generators are all moddable now making them equal to dual-wielding classes. It just brings balance to the game. I think they need to take the last step and give us cosmetic-only armor. I'd love to be able to switch appearance without losing my augment slots or set bonuses. I'd be a very happy boy!
  4. Yep all social armor should be Adaptive by now. But if your armor has a definite armor class (i.e. Heavy) you might be out of luck.
  5. Yeah, I was going to say... I think everyone was automatically moved off of the old servers and pushed onto the new super servers. I'm hoping you find that your server really does have a good population. Maybe it was just the time of day or maybe the planet you were on? Which server are you on? People still want paid transfers to combine their characters (which aren't in yet), but nobody should HAVE to move because there is nobody on their server anymore.
  6. To be honest I don't know the answer to your question for sure. My gut tells me you aren't limited to HMs, Ops, etc. But you may be limited to access with daily quests (money making and collecting commendations for armor upgrades). Just keep in mind you don't have to complete the whole planet to move forward your class quest. You can ignore all the other quests and just do that quest line. It shouldn't really be too bad and then you'll have all your companions. My preferred method of leveling now is PvP and when I'm overleveled I go back and roll through the class quests to progress the story. It's been working great for me so far.
  7. Most typically, healers are more wanted than tanks but it's really pretty close. I seem to get queue pops fastest on my healer. But in the end, you need to play a character you will enjoy. If you want to do a healer, there are the 3 different types: Sorcerer, Merc, Operative. Sorcs do a lot of in-place, long cast time heals and have an invaluable AoE heal. Mercs get the perk of healing on the run and heavy armor, and the Operative gets healing over time on multiple targets. Then you have the 3 different tanks: Juggernaut, Powertech, Assassin. I've personally had the most fun with the Assassin type. I have a Jedi Knight (Jugg) and the play just doesn't sem as fun. It's nice to be able to have the stealthiness and backstab abilities and they tank fantastically despite wearing light armor.
  8. Add another vote for Vette. If you keep her well geared you should definitely be able to kill things faster than they can kill you. If you have issues or are on a Strong/Elite fight you can pull out Quinn to keep you alive. I just hate Quinn. No spoilers!
  9. Yeah I think what you're hung up on is the "Adaptive" just means that it adapts to the highest armor class you can wear. As far as actually -upgrading- the stats, it behaves like any other moddable armor when you can swap out the Armor, Mod and Enhancement pieces to increase stats as you level. But the stat increase does not happen automatically.
  10. I'm assuming you ran CHKDSK since that's the title of your thread? You could have some corrupted files. If the launcher gives you the option, click the Repair button to try to fix the damaged files. Worst comes to worst you may have to reinstall the whole game and/or copy that folder from another computer. But that should be pretty unlikely. You may be able to find more help in this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=272 Good luck!
  11. I'm guessing we're talking about 50 PvP? I think that's your problem there.
  12. So many Huttball haters! I hated it for the longest time and now it's my favorite. Do you really just hate the concept entirely or is it just the most frequently lopsided match?
  13. I still hope we get purely cosmetic armor someday so we can change looks without having to re-add augment slots!
  14. So much needless hand wringing. 1. If you don't want to pay the damn $10, don't. 2. They are obviously pushing out content as fast as they can. You think maybe they are holding back for some ulterior motive? Why not enjoy what they can/have put out? 3. The game IS STILL free to play. You can play all the existing content now for free. No, I don't think subscribers that don't pay should get another 5 levels. 4. Obviously Ops, Flashpoints and other content will have to be tuned to account for those that are capped at 50. If you don't like it, don't do it. Stop complaining about it on forums.
