  1. You're telling me people are reluctant to spend 900 CC on an outfit that looks like a level 1 starter set? Crazy. As others have said, it makes you look like a space custodian. It's terrible.
  2. You know what's ruining Warzones (at least for me)? People who have no idea what it is they should be doing. Even when instructions are explicitly given to them via chat, they disregard the information and proceed to fail miserably. Honestly, you'd think that for some people this is the first video game they've ever played in their entire life. Ancient Hypergate: Last round, all we needed to do was defend our pylon and we would have won the match. I said as much multiple times in the chat. "Don't rush the middle or attack their side, defend our pylon and we'll win." So what do the seven other members of my team do? Exactly what I tell them not to do. I was left to defend the pylon by my lonesome and sure enough, the enemy team took it and we lost. How difficult is it to read the chat, communicate with others and use a little common sense?
  3. This is the result of posting before you think.
  4. This is amazing. I can't get over how ridiculous he looks (in a good way).
  5. Pretty much. Unfortunately, some people have absolutely no idea what they're doing. That, and the fact that players who are clearly DPS oriented queue up for FPs as tanks. I just ran a Cademimu with a Sin Tank (he came in a bit late as the first tank DCed) that was using Surging Charge the entire time. It wasn't until we wiped at the boss because he couldn't hold aggro that I noticed. I mean, really? You're a tank that isn't even using your tank buff? Just stop. I hate to be mean, but there's no excuse for that.
  6. The thing is, if you want to splash your cash on frivolous items be it real or virtual, be my guest. I've certainly done it. When people do that and then race to the forums and act as if they were somehow robbed is what irks me to no end. As they say, don't bet what you're not willing to lose.
  7. Right? Like others have said, if every item in the Cartel Pack were to be rare, said items would lose their rarity within a few days. Supply goes up, demand goes down. I've seen some utter nonsense posted on this forum in regards to the Cartel Packs. "I didn't get __ from the Cartel Pack so I demand a refund!" It's truly baffling.
  8. Are you referring to me? If so, do you have issues with reading comprehension by any chance? You're grabbing conclusions out of THIN AIR. I drew one comparison (that's not even gameplay related) to a recent MMO. Did I once, once claim that Guild Wars 2 (or any other game for that matter) is superior to SWTOR? No. Did I state that I despise SWTOR? No. In fact, I re-subbed to this game about a week ago. All I said was that I personally feel that ANet handled their character naming system better than EA/BioWare. That's all.
  9. I was speaking in general. Sorry to disappoint you, but I only played SWTOR for about a week after it launched. I never really developed any sort of attachment to my characters. But please, by all means, continue being a complete assh*le.
  10. Likewise, one could argue that those who were not willing to pre-order for a chance to claim their name(s) should cut their losses and grow up. See how that works? Guild Wars 2 nailed it by making names region specific, not server specific. That way, if I go back to Guild Wars 2 three months from now and they've merged servers, I won't have to worry about having to rename a character I spent hundreds of hours on.
  11. Well said. You want a refund? Honestly? You knew the risks, live with it. That's like buying lottery tickets, losing and then demanding a refund. Grow up. They are in no way, shape or form obligated (nor should they be) to refund your purchase. Hell, they even allow you to refund unused items you've purchased, but haven't moved to your inventory. I can't think of another game that allows that. How much would you propose the items cost? If anyone could just buy the items outright, they'd lose their value and "prestige." Thus, they'd lose their rarity. The only alternative would be to make the items relatively expensive, but then people would still complain. You have to realize (I'm sure you do) that they're doing this from a business perspective. I'd imagine they'll make more money in the long run via gachapon compared to selling items indivudually. I find it somewhat amusing when people go, "I bought three packs and didn't get a thing! Rabble, rabble, rabble!" Duh, it's gambling. You could spend $100 and get nothing, or you could purchase a single pack and land that one sought-after item. The two-sided coin that is gachapon. Now, I'm not trying to sit here and claim that EA has our best interests at heart, because they don't. They want our money and they're preying on those who lack self control or have a lot of money to splash. It's not a mystery. With that said, the people who are dropping a couple hundred bucks every week, month, etc. are helping fund the game. This is benefical to both F2P users and subscribers. In time, these items will make their way onto the GTN. The prices will drop and those not willing to spend real money will be able to via in-game currency. They could have really screwed us over by making the items account/character bound, but they didn't. It's only for 36 hours. Forgive my ignorance, but you don't need any of the items in the Cartel Packs, right? They aren't essential to the core gameplay. It's not as if by not having a Sith Meditation Throne, you're unable to level your character. If you want these items so badly, pony up the money or save up enough credits and buy them on the GTN. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. I suppose one could argue that these sort of items should be attainable via in-game quests, achievements, drops, etc. A valid point, but EA needs to make money somehow.
  12. I suppose I misconstrued your initial post. I thought you were speaking more in the terms of specific gameplay mechanics as opposed to the staples of an MMO. Apologies.
  13. Really? Did you honestly just say that? You and I both know that's a flat-out lie. By all of the features do you mean the basics such as, global chat, market, guilds etc? Or mechanic wise?
  14. Oh, I don't know, maybe because it's suppose to be a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. If you're only ever seeing a handful of people around you at any given time, where does the massively come into play? Feeling like you're a part of a living, breathing virtual world is half the attraction. You know what is necessary to reproduce that sort of environment? User players. The shard system fragments the user base. Simple as that. Would Times Square be as interesting if didn't have all of the hustle and bustle? What if you only shared the space with a dozen people, would it still have the same impact? Of course not, where is the interaction? Would life in general be as exciting if weren't for other people? If you don't understand the importance and appeal of that, then perhaps you're playing the wrong genre.
