  1. Awesome! I may just do that. :}
  2. Well spoken. I believe the main concerns can be address BY Bioware within the current user interface, anyway. And quite simply. Optional things like: Simple tools like counters (to check self-playability) Ability bar scaling & movement/additions (for accessability) Target observation (being able to see who your targets are targeting) I don't know if anyone saw any of the class versus videos, but it looked like the ability bar scaling/movement is actually already possible. All of those options could be added without the need for interface over-complication.
  3. I think the concern is introducing mechanics that sacrifice the integrity of the environment and situational challenge. Should there be options? Yes. The challenge of the game should not be the interface and usability, it should be the environment and the situation. That said, the two are inherhantly intertwined in some ways. So I would say it's crucial to provide ways of gauging your own play ability, your access to your abilities, and your ability to see what is happening, without overstepping the bounds into hacking the game and removing the environment or situational challenge. I believe Darth Mister's statement of 'crutches' to be quite well defined and relevant in that light.
  4. Great work. Needs Accessibility, interface and communication polishing. But it's a fantastic game that achieves so much, and it lays down the groundwork for being an incredible mmo! Thank you!

  8. A DPS or Tank player tip: You can also use your class specific self-heal as a pull overlap while others initiate combat and before diving in. This is especially handy for giving your tank a moment to grab aggro as you chain pull. So the healer only has to focus on the tank. Oh...and watch for some of the more subtle aoe damage animations carefully. Everything from a target on someone (signifying explosive weapon attacks) to a blinking red dot on someone (signifying a sticky grenade)....these will hit everyone. Scatter away if you see anything unusual. Don't just look for flashy obvious stuff. Healer tips in constrained situations: Furthermore, in games with extremely costly heals, it will always benefit you to do the following without fail: Know how much your heals heal for and PRE-Cast/cancel until the heal amount is needed. (This will do three things, conserve mana, have a heal ready on the spot to make up for burst damage, and counter lag issues) . Prioritize your abilities by cheapest/most efficient FIRST to avoid the need of your more expensive abilities except in OCRAP moments...In many games this means: Juggling in hots or shields and buffs before considering a heal. . Downscale your heal level wherever you can, if you can (not always possible in the game system. But good to check on) Unfortunately, guys, this sometimes means prioritizing the tank even when others could use it. Sometimes I'll compensate by switching my focus to whoever is ACTUALLY tanking, despite who SHOULD be tanking. As opposed to just letting people die due to blame. As a result, no matter how difficult my groups, they rarely die. -May the force be with you.
  9. Not to mention the res abilities everyone gets.

  12. Mumble will be your best option. It offers user registrations, so no one can sign in as anyone else. It automates sound quality options so you don't have to mess with all your mic/volume settings constantly, and no one has the 'too loud/too quiet' issues. The ping time/lag is minimal (faster) It will auto lower game volume to a minute degree when someone talks so you can still hear them around battle sound. It shows everyone in your current chat channel in a modifiable transparent overlay in the right hand corner so you can see who is talking when. It also offers an automated sound location option, so you can hear people from the direction their characters are, relative to you in the game, when they speak. The list of reasons goes on. I've used just about everything. mumble is the best with the least amount of tweaking needed. hands down.
