  1. My legacy name is powers. Agent Ostin Powers, PT Aus'tin Powers, sorc Shagwell and merc Docevil.
  2. Awesome. I am new to MMOs and have only one 50 (a sorc) but am leveling a pyro PT, so I have alot to learn! I haven't come up with a key binding set up I am comfortable with yet, so can't wait to see yours, and I really liked what I saw of your UI on the vid. This stuff is great for a noob like me. There are a lot of huge pvp egos on my server, and while some are helpful, some are just smug or even agro. I really apprecieate the effort you have made here and can't wait for the next vid.
  3. I take it spectators are allowed? Was Outlaw's den finalized as the venue?
  4. Ridgey didge. I have a great time playing this game, with all and sundry. Was on DK this arvo with my young leveling pyro, over 100 peeps running around. Can't wait for them to level up and join the fun. Might give me the occasional comparative advantage
  5. Hey MJRat, I come from a guild with limited pvpers, and queue solo almost all the time. I love it when I end up in a group with one of your lvl 50s, you play smart and hard and I know we have a good chance of winning. Great to see you are new at MMOs, gives me hope. Me too, though newer than you I expect. I am on my first lvl 50 character. I love pvp, and know I am pretty crap, but aim to get better. Landing in a PUG with you, Carthy, Nysteria, Noodles, Spk, just to name a few is great fun. I also enjoy playing with Zagor! I try and watch and learn. Landing in groups against you isn't always quite so fun, but just as much of an opportunity to pick up some new ideas while usually getting crunched! So I for one hope some of you gun players stay in general wzs. My continued progress (albeit slow, step by step) depends on it, as does that of others. Our guild is trying to build pvp up and will hopefully try some ranked wzs some time soon. Til then, see you in the PUGs. Oh, and to everyone, this game is heaps of fun, the more people pvping the better, at all levels and abilities. So maybe try easing off on the agro a bit here on the forums? Glad to see it is not rearing it's head too often in the wzs, except, as appropriate, via the light sabers, flame throwers and lightening. Cheers, Shagwell, TOG Legion
  6. I am a noob, this being my first MMO. I am fairly casual and have played both rep and imp, and am yet to get a character to 50 (have a 45 sorc on advice it was an easy class to pvp with as a noob). I mostly PUG - my only gaming friends play WOW, sigh - and I have a few noobie observations. 1. I am trying to learn to be a better pvper - hot keying, mouse turning, etc. I have warzone objectives all down pat, and try different strategies, but sometimes opponents and allies are much better than me. They deal with this in one of two ways - offer advice and support or sook up like a 5 year old who is about to lose at marbles. 2. There is a huge variety of skill levels out there and in PUGs you can be lucky or unlucky in who you are grouped with and who you face. Even in PUGs on imp side I om the winning side with enough regularity to make it fun. 3. ITS A GAME DUDES. Enjoy it, give people time to learn how to get better. If it is growing there will always be people learning and different skill levels, on you team and on your opponents. Give them support (if they're your teammate), not abuse. Encourage them to play more pvp to get better, not less. And if they are on the other team, kill them and win and teach them that way. By the way, I agree that there is more negativity on the imp side, but there is too much of it on both. We're all noobs at everything at the start.
  7. Uglystik, Rocco and Secured, thanks for the advice. Had a hunch best to just keep playing and learning - definitely will. thanks for rotation advice Uglystick. Rocco, as you suspected, was asking about skill trees, and rotations and the like, I do get the objectives, and no need to worry about condecention, happy to get all feedback. Secured, Will check out guilds. Happy to listen to and play against better players. Will give hotkey approach a go, though. Wouldn't dream of walking out on a war zone/battleground.
  8. I'm a newbie to SWTOR and MMOs in general, love the idea of PvP and like the look of Commando, got to lvl 10, chose it and have been tossing up b/w Assault and Gunnery so found this thread. Have played a couple of WZs and done ok (medal or 2 each time, more kills than deaths). But reading this I realize I have no idea what most of you are saying, let alone how to implement it! Seems like it will take years for me not to be one of those "stupid" players an erlier post referred to. Don't even know enough about my game style to know what suits, so will take a punt and go Assault. But my real question is - HOW DO I LEARN ALL THIS STUFF AND BECOME OK AT PvP AND NOT LET MY TEAM DOWN?!? Is a guild the answer? (is this a stupid question?)? Am a casual player - family life means <10 hoursnper week, and in Ausralia, so lots of time when I am playing not many others from US on server. Any advice welcome.
