Not Cleanseable) to Operations Training Dummy. 23:49:24.918 Shyl'ran's Affliction causes 1 threat gain on Operations Training Dummy. 23:49:25.892 Shyl'ran activates Recklessness. 23:49:25.893 Shyl'ran gains Recklessness. 23:49:27.009 Shyl'ran activates Death Field. 23:49:27.010 Shyl'ran spends 45 Force. 23:49:27.011 Shyl'ran's Death Field heals Shyl'ran for 671. 23:49:27.012 Shyl'ran's Deathmark adds effect Deathmark (Force) to Operations Training Dummy. 23:49:27.012 Shyl'ran's Death Field critically hits Operations Training Dummy for 6440* internal damage, causing 6440 threat! 23:49:27.799 Shyl'ran's Affliction (Not Cleanseable) hits Operations Training Dummy for 845 internal damage, causing 845 threat.
  6. I used http://dulfy.net/2012/01/30/sith-inquisitor-complete-datacron-guide/ Pretty well done and gives the location of all datacrons usefull to inquisitor (willpower of course but also endurance and presence)
  7. Deception has very little to do with the subtlety rogue, it is more like an enhancement shaman with stealth. The class the closest to the wow rogue playstyle would be the operative (having stealth, stun, blind and slow like the wow rogue). A shield is pretty useless unless you are using dark charge, which most often you should not if you're playing deception.
  8. Swtor is not a game where you are one shoting normal mob and two shoting elites. At this level you will struggle against elites with almost any class unless you have a healing companion. Until you have Talos (and even then), i would advise to use Khem. Of course he will probably die against elites, but by then you will have enough time to damage (often even kill) your target while being in the mob back kicking some maul (which you cannot do if you use ashara as you should generate more threat than her)
  9. One other major reason was that madness had a much better force regeneration (meaning you do less saber strikes, so more actual dps). The recent modification done to induction has change that, since you don't have the reduction cost of shock when using lightning charge. So i am not sure if madness is still ahead of deception since the last patch.
  10. You probably don't have any number to prove that since combatlogs are not available to players and simulations are probably inaccurate until we have a better understanding of game mechanisms. On the other hand, bioware has access to those logs and has just buff the marauder (well, this buff might not work as it should for now but the intention is there), which let me suppose that marauder might not have been performing as well as the community might think.
  11. Most of the questions you asked have their answer in the sticky (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=778). anyway.. 1. crit is better until around 30%. Power is our weaker stat (well apart from fancy stuff like tech power and the like obviously) until you have enough crit, surge and accuracy 2. Dark charge is for tanking. In a pve environment, you should not use it as deception (unless you're doing things like soloing champion mobs or world bosses where the armor buff and self healing coming with dark charge can be handy) 3. Shield are useless, get a focus. And if you see high level dps assassin with some, just consider that being high level does not mean being smart ^^. (by the way, good timing with kick, stun, bump and damage reduction abilities will be far more efficient to improve your survivability)
  12. I played an enhancement shaman as a main in this other MMO that shall not be named ^^ (tried all other class to max lvl too). I could not resist to play another melee dps that also cast lightning. I was also attracted by the inquisitor archetype and quest line. I tried it during the beta and liked its gameplay a lot. I am currently leveling several alts but i think my assassin will stay my main for as long as i play this game.
  13. So you are saying that you spend some time slowly sneaking up to the catwalk just to try to kill one trooper, which you did not even manage to do (bumping him would have been more efficient by the way), instead of, well, trying to actually play huttball (which, surprisingly, involve carrying a ball in the adverse team goal)? That sure make your complains very pertinent >< Huttball in particular is were you can shine as an assassin: - doing taunt and mass taunt on players attacking the ball carrier - using force slow and low slash on players attacking the ball carrier - using guard on the ball carrier. - bumping people in flame and poison or down the catwalk - using low slash to block people in the flame - using force speed and defensive CD if you are the ball carrier - sneaking next to the adverse team goal, going out of stealth to catch the ball and score - etc... DPS is not so important in pvp if you play the game as you should. DPS is mostly a pve concern (and my assassin is doing just fine in operations and flashpoint compare to our mercenaries and sith warrior).
  14. In the group i am running hardmode flashpoint with, the sith warrior has a full set of columi dps gear and something like 4 pieces of the tanking set. I think he has started to give columi gear to his apprentice. On the other hand, our tank (a powertech) has barely dropped anything. That's the problem with random drop, sometime you just are really unlucky.
  15. What's the point of making twice the same post (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=234775) apart from trolling? These kind of posts start to be really annoying. When i see those "this class sucks" i read "i cannot 2 shot people/mob even though i have no skill like i was doing in some other mmo because i always played the most OP class". We have no clue about dps as we have no dps meter (linking damage in pvp is irrelevant as when you usually toping damage it means you did not play the BG as you should) so complaining about dps is pointless. If you do not like the mechanism of the class (the assassin is not a rogue from wow !) just roll something else instead of asking the class to be changed. I think lot of assassin actually enjoy playing this class and are ok with its performance. To my opinion the only thing that could have some adjustment is our mobility (well and some bug correction, but that is not relevant to class design).
