  1. When asked about warzone afkers and warzone droppers, the answer given was: Gabe Amatangelo - It is not sanctioned behavior. In Game Update 1.2 we will be making changes to the Warzone rewards system, which will de-incentivize this type of behavior. This will include the removal of the interim bag/quest system, the introduction of the direct purchase of gear from Warzone and Ranked Warzone commendations, 14 new objective-based medals and participation scaling the rewards. Additionally, players will have the option to vote kick idlers. Kicked players will not be able to re-queue for several minutes. My concern is the vote-kick system. Will there be anything in place to counter the (sadly) common "d-baggery" of people on the internet, like vote-kicking somebody because they don't like their guild, or vote-kicking somebody because they were placed on that person's ignore list? For example, if a vote-kick is instituted by Player A against Player B, but Player B is active, will the vote-kick be overridden since nobody has a way to check Player B's stats during the WZ? I certainly hope your development team plays on regular servers so they can see just how poorly people behave because the internet is the only place they can get away with being bullies. This can be a double-edged sword if ever there was one in PvP. Please elaborate on the vote-kick system you plan on instituting since, at least it seems this way, testing is rushed and a lot of scenarios are not taken into account before new content is released.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSjLiQxEZlM This reflects the OP perfectly!
  3. For any person who min/maxes their DPS, combat logs are an absolute must. Enrage timers should not be the only way to tell you have weak DPS in an Ops group. And if you do, how do you know which of your 5 DPS (8 man Ops) is the weakest link? Combat logs, damage meters, threat tables, etc. are all a must have in the MMO gaming community. It's not just about bragging rights, but about making sure you're taking the best people for their respective roles. Are combat logs coming to SWTOR?
  4. I am not "demanding" anything. I am, however, expressing my concern over the gender restrictions on Social Armor. I see female Bounty Hunters in the game wearing Heavy Armor that was obviously meant for a male (pre-cut breast cups excluded). Why can men not wear armor that was meant for a woman? Why are women allowed to embrace a more masculine gender role, but men not allowed to embrace a more feminine one? All players, male/female (irl and toon) should have the male/female visual option for their characters, or at the very least be allowed to wear all of the Social Armor as it is designed.
  5. To put it quite simply, sometimes the "constructive criticism" doesn't get it done. How many warzones must I go through with 2 afkers and 4 farmers before I'm allowed to call people out? Those that have no idea what they're doing should be told they have no idea what they're doing. And since /ignore does not prevent you from queueing with scrubby little d-bags, I like to call them out as often as possible in the hope that their ability to learn will curve just a tad and they'll actually fight at a node instead of nowhere near one. As for the discussion in general chat, it's GENERAL CHAT! You don't like what people are saying? Turn it off. You don't have to close out the chat box, just go into settings and uncheck general chat. Now you don't have to see the unintelligent rantings of the future leaders of the free world. And as for lacking social skills, where does being spineless rank? In stead of confronting the people that offend you, you quietly add them to your ignore list then come here to complain? How does that help? All you've done is labeled yourself as a target for the rest of us. I don't disagree with your point. In fact, I agree 100%, and I blame wow. The MMO community used to be much closer knit. But once Warcraft broke 10 million paid subs, there was more money in letting the little kids act like little kids than doing something about it. It went so far as me reading a story posted in Trade Chat about a "heroic white knight" slaughtering members of the Hebrew community in the streets of New York to purify it. What happened to him? Two day suspension. That was it. Too many people have gotten away with it, and it's because of people like the OP. Starting a "mean people suck" thread does nothing but make the mean people laugh. Open tickets for harassment and give Bioware a chance to address the issue. This does nothing.
  6. I cannot express my anger and frustration at having my character development bottle-necked into specific, socially acceptable gender roles by having gender restrictions on the Slave Girl Outfit. Should I choose to RP an Imperial Agent who feels like a woman, even though he is a Body Type 4 man, I should be allowed to play him that way and have him dress in a fashion that appeals to him and quiets the internal nagging to be himself. Bioware, please lift gender restrictions on outfits. How I play my character should be my choice, and I am sure I am not the only person who feels limited because of this.

  8. Classes and Combat General * Surge rating has been re-balanced. It now reaches diminishing returns the same way as other damage ratings, and its per point damage contribution has been reduced by approximately 10%. Bounty Hunter Mercenary Arsenal * Stabilizers: Correctly adds pushback resistance to Unload. Trooper Commando Gunnery * Steadied Aim: Correctly adds pushback resistance to Full Auto. Where is the nerf to Snipers? I'm not saying it isn't there, but I've read the 1.1.3 patch notes twice, and I see no nerf to Snipers, or to crit/surge. Can somebody be more specific as to what's actually being done?
  9. In America people hack the game. In Russia, the game hacks you!
  10. And there is the key word, people. IMAGINE! He dreamed this entire outcome up. He has imagined how probability should work (since it has obviously treated him unfairly). He has imagined how RNG should work (as it has obviously treated him unfairly). And he has imagined that the person who has better luck than he actually has a better education (as his has obviously treated him unfairly).
  11. But you're making an outright claim that algorithms don't work the way ALGORITHMS WORK! They randomly generate a number, like a dice roll (hence the /roll system used in other MMO's). Let me give you some links so you can stop making completely uneducated claims in the forums declaring that any who has better luck than you must be a hacker. 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algorithm 2. http://computer.howstuffworks.com/question717.htm 3. http://www.algosort.com/ 4. http://www.math.uaa.alaska.edu/~afkjm/cs101/handouts/ch04.pdf 5. http://www.bfoit.org/itp/ComputerContinuum/RobotComputer.html 6. http://saliu.com/theory-of-probability.html Now, go read and stop polluting the forums.
  12. Just because it didn't happen for you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Let me give you an example: A Roulette wheel has 36 numbered cups alternating red and black. That means that there is a 1/36 chance the ball will land in any one of the specific cups. On July 14, 2000, 7 came up six times on wheel 211 at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas. If you had bet $2 on 7, and rode it out for 6 turns of the wheel, you would have won more than $4 Billion. The odds of that happening are actually 1 in 2 176 782 336. So you see, just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Unless, of course, you mean to say that somebody managed to hack Las Vegas.
  13. Just curious if this "conversions to existing commendations on players already" will be back-dated, or is it just going to take away from people? For example, if a person has gotten say 50 bags, but still isn't in full Champion gear (my Op has probably gotten more than that and is still missing 4 pieces of CG), will said person get Champion Commendations equal to 7 Comms X 50 bags? Or are you just going to convert some commendations into others, leaving people short changed?

  15. ^^This exactly. Personally I think Rakata's should be back to where they were before the first patch, but extremely expensive/time consuming to make (GTN/mat farming), and have an expiration. Make them only last 24 hours, or 48 hours. This way the people who have Biochem are rewarded for leveling the profession, but at the same time are required to replace the Rakata item so they don't have the unfair advantage in regards to credit retention.
