  1. First, Glad to see that I can finally get to this page (after two years almost of being told) to post here. Kudos to whoever fixed that, really. Second, How about we fix the issue in GSF that players with little or no xp and gear on their ships aren't matched against players with fully-geared ships that can one-shot them (usually from across the arena before they can even see who is shooting them)? It really is frustrating when you are trying to get points to gear your ship and you get taken out before you can even get close to range of shooting, or are immobilized completely and all you can do is just sit and watch yourself be one-shotted eternally, or pounced on by groups of ships that can one shot you. My solution: Seperate GSF into 3 levels of experience - Novice / Fledgling, Combat Tech / Warhawk, and Ace / Eagle Eye levels. (Names can be changed to whatever, or just call them Novice, Tech, and Ace levels, doesn't matter, really.) Fledglings would be from no upgrades on a new ship up to having 2 Upgrades EACH in: Only One Primary, Secondary Weapons, Engines, Shields, and one upgrade in at least Two Subsystems, OR Up To a total of 9 upgrades. You would be matched against ships of same equipment level only. Warhawks would be from: exceeding the previous 2 Upgrades in a Primary Weapons Area, Secondary Weapons, Engines, Shields, and one each in two different subsystems OR a total of 9 Upgrades, to having MASTERED ALL MAJOR COMPONENTS, as well as Having Mastered At Least 2 Minor Components Systems and 3 upgrades in any remaining ones, earning the title of: Eagle Eye The completion of Mastering ALL Systems on your ship. You would Only be matched against equally equipped ships. If you want to Master All Systems on ALL SHIPS, to give motivation to those who want to, they would get (a proposed new title for GSF) Master Pilot or Republic / ]Imperial Galaxian, in recognition of having fully Mastered all the systems on All ships. It could come with a Special Paint Job or a completely new Private Ship to fly in game as an additional reward to make it worthwhile for those wanting to get it. And not available on Cartel Market, either.) This change would make it more challenging for higher level, more experienced GSF players, providing much more of a challenge than grouping and pouncing on lesser-geared and experienced players & taking almost all the points from them (so they would be able to actually gear their ships, giving them a chance to play against similarly-equipped ships and learn GSF, instead of just being one-shotted eternally). It would also make it more fun for all payers to know they are being similarly matched & actually have a fair chance to win a match, and have to develope strategies, not just achieve and rely on gear that opponents don't have to fight back with.
  2. I think the real question of the day that is being purposely ignored and downplayed in Community Forums is "What did Bio/EA screw up now with 1.7, that most of their customers can't even get past the Satele and Malgus splash screen to get into the game?" I've been looking for information for almost 4 hours now and can find nothing but for a couple of posts even acknowledging it earlier this afternoon. Someone put some updates up that are Easy to find, instead of having to search for hours through the posts for "There are some reports of the game crashing to the desktop, and we are looking itno it" and "Update - We are still working on it". Do you think ANYONE could be bothered to post regular updates on what Bio broke and an idea when it might be fixed, in a place that is right out in the open and not buried somewhere? Thank You.
  3. I would like to make some suggestions for the game that are kind of annoying (slightly an understatement), and only will get (definitely) worse as the game goes on, I think, but . . . 1. When you get on the ship for anything, instead of leaving & having to return if you to wherever you were, can it be changed so that you don't leave UNLESS you sit in the Captains chair and/or activate the Galactic Map? And 2. Can "the ship roaring through space" visual & sound be changed to sound like you are listening to it though a vaccuum (muffled but definite) (like in any of the SW movies) and a bit of a vibration to the visual (as it passes nearest the camera) instead of an outright shaking like a really bad 70's/80's made-for-tv movie earthquake? (Or just make a short realistic cinematic for it, like with Jedi Sateles' intro to the game documenting the Sith return. Or a quick clip for each style ship from one of the movies, if you can. At least, for the ones in the movies.) Do something, anything please.) I've hated those two things since first getting the game as one is so useless and time consuming and the other seems to be proud it's so fake. It's like seeing an out-take of Jar-Jar Binks, looking at the camera and speaking in a perfect Shakespearean accent, complaining to George Lucas about how his Summers Eve isn't working like it should be, he just doesn't have that "fresh feeling" & wants to stop for the day. (I mean seriously, no one can picture that character having any ability to act, talk, or sound like anything close to entertainment ever, other than the drunken nightmare he must be for anyone involved with it. "Remember kids, drugs are bad . . . . k?") It's a complete & total "NEVER do this with CGI again!!" tutorial. At this point, I absolutely dread going near my ship(s) until I am away and at the map. Then I dread having to go to any planet; it's like going to the your favorite restaraunts' salad bar in fear of what you're going to still find on the sneeze guard over it for the last week. More or less the same kind of disgust, too, at ruining what should be such a good part of the game.
  4. I would reply on the appropriate Waves Updating page, but it was shut down. And I tried calling the support number, but it's out of service. (It's seeming to be not such a good start, is it, Bioware?) I would like to know how it can be posted by Bioware/SW:TOR that "Invites are being sent out depending on when the redemption code was recieved - Early Access Waves-Updating Here; Stephen Ried, 10:03 am/13Dec2011", when people that didn't pre-order til november (or even early december!) were sent access and are playing the game right now? And people who ordered the day it was available to pre-order and redeemed their code immediately (within the first 48 hours, like me) can't get anything but "Keep checking your email for the invite"? According to the statement on TOR's site above, I would like to know how many hundreds of thousands redeemed their codes before I did?
