  1. This helped more than any of the earlier posts... Thanks! I haven't finished chapter 2 yet, so no wonder I can't find it! Almost lvl 43!
  2. There was a poll up a little while ago, and just about 60% who voted (of about 4000 people) said "it's terrible!" No joke. Oh, and I've been a PC gamer for 15 yrs, never having a problem like this before (headache/nausea when playing combat with my toon from the new 'dark to light gcd flash').
  3. It was George Lucas! Let's fire him! LOL
  4. I'm sorry if I sounded rude, but, yeah, I can think of a few businesses that give refunds or free time (like Verizon Wireless for example, subscribed to them for 6 yrs now). I was just saying the disclaimer was in all the agreements we have to agree to before playing. Most people don't read the disclaimers/rules and just click "OK, I agree" and then raise issues afterwards with things that are in there... not saying I read them every time either, but I have been known to read a couple. Don't snap at me! I'm one of you! :`(
  5. Anyway, there is a disclaimer about monthly fees that we all agreed to. Afaik, all games or products/programs with a monthly fee have basically the same disclaimer.
  6. I get a headache/nausea too from the "dark then flashing gcd", so I too cannot play (combat) but I'm being patient, not playing until that is fixed so I can play unimpeded... there are other things we can do too, like space combat missions or crafting stuff.... I understand why they can't do a rollback, as a lot of people do like the change, so it would be like giving them all lollipops and then taking them away! I don't think $15 a month is very much money, especially considering I bought a digital and hard copy and a new computer just to get this game playing nicely. I had problems downloading on my slow connection and then corrupt files too. Also, I spend $15 a DAY on crap that lasts me a DAY, so I wouldn't even dream of asking for a refund. For those of us with these problems, we just need to be patient, maybe find something else to do, and wait for a couple weeks... UO is still my go-to game when I'm bored or can't play other games.
  7. So happy!! After seeing all the posts from several threads, seeing Stephen's twitter page, and now seeing this really makes me happy. I don't have a light sensitivity or migraines (I don't even wear sunglasses!), but the 'gcd dark then flash' does cause me to get a headache/nausea after a little bit of combat. So until then, I'll patiently wait and play something else... a break might be good anyway
  8. OK, I see the poll has been about the same... We want the GCD fixed. The end. Now for a poll of fixing Ilum vs. fixing the GCD flash... haha Ilum doesn't make me sick, but the flash does... hrmm
  9. Strange, I have astigmatism too... and felt the exact same way you do when I tried to play. I'm sure you've seen my earlier posts... just sayin' I get new glasses on Friday, so maybe that will cure my problem? I don't know... Is there anyone else with astigmatism that is getting the same kind of headache/nausea?
  10. Yes, making me sick as well. Haven't logged on since yesterday... still waiting for a fix or a solution.
  11. OK, I don't see any posts in here relating to the GCD graphic that was implemented in patch 1.1.2, so I'm putting in my suggestions for this issue. I can't play (any combat) anymore as the constant flashing of the cooldowns on all my ability bars causes my eyes to hurt for a few minutes, then I get a headache, then nausea shortly thereafter while I am fighting guys. Suggestions: 1. Revert the CD/GCD graphics back to what they were before this patch 1.1.2 -or- 2. Put in an option to change or customize the CD/GCD graphics. -or- 3. Fix the CD/GCD graphics so they don't make me (or anyone else) nauseous or give headaches. Any one of these solutions would solve my problem (and many others) and make it so I was able to play again!
  12. Is everyone with this problem supposed to post a suggestion? I saw several in there earlier, but they all seem to have disappeared....? I don't know what to do! Do I wait? Do I post in there? Do I call it quits and cancel my sub? Help!

Sincerely, Protocol Droid G3-X5 (aka Chris) Star Wars: The Old Republic Customer Service" This is my e-mail response from submitting a help request in game. Basically what I said is summed up below: I can't play (combat) because it causes me to get a headache and makes me nauseous. The cause - the new GCD graphic flashing every couple seconds on all my toolbars. I'm not exaggerating this. Also, the abilities in my hotbars are harder to see from the GCD constantly flowing while in combat, but I could get used to it all if the strobe-flashing didn't make me sick. I would just like that flash turned off or toned down or an option to turn it back so I don't get motion sickness or whatever is happening to me when I play now. Please do something so I can play again! Thanks!
