  1. I've been following this thread for awhile, and I can break the logic into two types. 1. The logic and canon references presented by people that know what they are talking about. 2. The logic and lack of canon references presented by people that do not know what they are talking about. Unfortunately, there are many more 2s than 1s. Darth Bane was the strongest of his time. The rule of two states that the apprentice will destroy the master - thus becoming the master - hence the apprentice becomes stronger. After a thousand years of the rule of two, Darth Sidious was the pinnacle of the Order of the Sith Lords. Darth Vader was his apprentice, and GL made the comment that he was 80% as powerful as Darth Sidious. So you may be able to argue that Darth Vader hadn't reached the power levels of Darth Tenebrous or Darth Plagueis because he hadnt reached his full potential yet, but there is no question Darth Vader was more powerful than Darth Bane after a thousand years of dark side consolidation. Mathematically, that means Darth Vader is stronger than Darth Revan. Sorry KOTOR fanboys!
  2. In relation to the game, The Malgus and Revan books are both entertaining, but not worth reading for anything other than game lore. Also, the Bane Trilogy is entertaining, and the Vader book too, but long term they are all forgettable. The Thrawn Trilogy is what started the whole EU. Zahn did an excellent job capturing the feel of the original trilogy. He handles the characters masterfully, and adds a few of his own that have become as well loved as the originals. I have read probably 90% of the EU novels, and Zahn's are the only ones that truly stand out.
  3. This is a common misconception. Although I thought it was clear in the movie, the novelization made it perfectly clear. Mace Windu did not beat Darth Sidious. Darth Sidious played opposum when he saw Anakin enter the chamber, to assist in the process of swaying him to the Sith teachings by showing how evil and corrupt the Jedi had become. I'm quite confident that Darth Sidious could have destroyed Mace Windu at any time. He pwned Yoda for the love of God! Darth Sidious was a bad mamba-jamba! As for the original question posed by the OP, I think it would most likely be a draw between Mace Windu and Darth Tyrannus. They were both very skilled and dedicated to their craft. Environment would most likely be the deciding factor between the two. NOTE: As much as I love Christopher Lee as Saruman, he just didn't capture the way Darth Tyrannus was described in the novelizations of Episodes II and III. He could have been so much cooler than an old guy with a funny lightsaber.
  4. Along this line, "Return of the Jedi" was originally named "Revenge of the Jedi". A last minute change was enacted because Lucas didn't think Jedi would seek revenge. A form of the title did make it out though years later as Episode III, "Revenge of the Sith". Sith will certainly seek revenge.
  5. The Super Star Destroyer is by far my favorite starship. However, I love Darth Vader's modified Tie Fighter also.
  6. I enjoyed the prequels when I watched them in theater, but I do think they could have been better. The acting was horrible in some places, and the script was weak in a lot of places. I think the thing that was the most painful to me was the history lesson. I know they were prequels, but that doesn't mean that every character from the original movies had to have their history depicted in the prequels - and worse they all tied together. Like someone else mentioned here, the lightsaber duels and space combat was the best part of the prequel movies.
  7. Luke may be the strongest Jedi to ever exist, but he never really had to deal with the things that the Jedi order had to deal with during the Clone Wars. I say hands down that Mace Windu is the best Jedi Warrior. Had it not been for that pesky Anakin, I believe Mace may have had a real chance at destroying Darth Sidious.
  8. OP, it is actually worse then you think. We are the future of Star Wars. Hence, the story starting out with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...". Where the hell is my lightsaber dammit?
  9. I am a Sith Pureblood, and my face tentacles stick through the respirator you are mentioning. It drives me nuts to see, but that respirator is damn cool looking! Makes me feel like I am half Darth Vader. LOL
  10. 3 things... 1. For those of you that are getting disconnected in queue, your harddrive is going to sleep, which drops your internet connection. It cracks me up that I see this complaint on every MMO launch, and everyone always tries to blame the game maker for their PC settings. Hysterical! 2. I play on Kaas City, and I had no problems logging in and out multiple times last night as I leveled to 10 in a starting zone that was populated - but not slammed busy. Additionally, there were only two servers at Full and one at Heavy in the whole list. Everything else was at Standard. The EGA is working perfectly, compared to other launches I have been through that offered headstarts. 3. Why does everyone think the 20th is going to be so bad? Most people that are going to play this game at launch most likely pre-ordered it - meaning the influx of new accounts on the 20th will be minimal at best.
  11. Revan predated Darth Bane by many, many years! Revan was to be the Emperor's Vanguard of the Sith invasion of Republic space. When he failed, Revan and Scourge gave the Emperor enough doubt to wait a few hundred years - bringing the story up to SWTOR timelines. Darth Bane comes long after the time of SWTOR.
  12. The Lost Tribe was lost before Darth Bane created the rule of two. The Lost Tribe was dispatched by Naga Sadow, the Sith ruler well before Darth Bane.
  13. I was wondering the same thing. I have met two Darths so far, and they are both fat! Here is another one for you... Why does everyone on Korriban seem to have crappy looking corn rows in their hair?
  14. Experienced MMO players know that the higher the server population, the faster you can put together MMO activities, such as flashpoints and operations. You may be getting queue times now, but that is normal for headstarts and early releases. Give it two weeks, and it won't be happening anymore. Relax man! It is a game!
  15. Obviously, you haven't experience very many MMO launches. This has been an excellent launch. It has been documented by several video game reviewers that RIFT was the best launch experience of any MMO, and it was brutal! Queue times were as much as 8 hours, because they opened the floodgates for headstart to everyone. By staggering the headstart, they minimized the queue times, and forced a better spread across the servers. Kudos Bioware! I am exceptionally pleased with TORs launch!
