  1. I'm pretty much rolling an assassin because I've never run one before. I've done tanking, healing and DPS characters so nothing is really new. I just read so many different things about assassin specs, it's kind of hard to figure out what's good information and what's not. Looking to play mostly PvE, get through the story, with MAYBE a few pvp matches in between if I'm feeling up to it. What's the recommended spec to play through the class story? Tank spec good, but slow? DPS specs fast, but survivability low? Which spec is recommended? Thanks.
  2. Hey everyone --- rolling an Inquisitor for the first time. I don't really have a preference to ranged or melee. I'm mostly in this one for the PvE / Leveling experience. Would like to hear from both sides what people think of leveling a sorcerer and leveling an assassin in terms of damage / survivability / ease of leveling / etc. I really am torn between the two because I don't have much of a preference of ranged over melee and vice versa. Thanks anyone who responds
  3. Last I checked the new Avengers was not targeted at "little kids". It was quite fantastic and Disney didn't really do anything to screw that up. You people who think Disney is just after that "kids" market, don't have any idea what you're talking about. Do your research into target markets and demographics. Disney made a fantastic decision in Lucas Arts, it was dead weight. Even SWTOR was handed off to EA and Bioware, Lucas Arts just put their name on it for licensing purposes. Stop freaking out. Everything will be fine.
  4. Did you actually READ the announcement? Sigh. They are shifting from internal development to external licensing of future Star Wars video games. This couldn't be better news. That means more companies will compete for the right to produce/create the next Star Wars game, which means more Star Wars. Calm down. Disney made a brilliant move.
  5. Please? Then Disney can go get the real Bioware guys back to make a real Star Wars game Sorry EA.
  6. It's unrealistic for an MMO to keep adding on class quest content, unfortunately. As much as I would LOVE them to, they will not devote a team to keep adding on class content. They could phrase it every which way they want to, but the bottom line is that the EA big-wigs will not give the appropriate people the right resources to expand this section of the game. The whole identity of the "story-driven" MMO has been and gone with the move to F2P. Any moderator or developer is free to come in here and twist it any way they want, but it's over for class-specific, story content. It's really sad because that is what so many people seem to love about this game, myself included. Unless they go the route of Starcraft and release further "expansions" complete with new story lines, we won't see any new ones. I doubt EA will put that much effort into a game they previously thought was a "loss". It's sad. This game could have been so much more.
  7. Seems to me that Disney is making all the right moves to create the NEW Star Wars generation. I will probably receive a lot of hate here, but I'm going to say it anyways. I grew up with Star Wars, ever since I was a very young kid. I live and breath the old Star Wars movies and have been through many years of gaming with SW games such as the Battlefront series, SWG, KOTOR series, TOR, etc. However, in terms of the "big picture", Disney wants to launch a new generation of Star Wars from this new trilogy hence the "original story" for the movie script. I'm sure pieces of the lore will be kept intact from the original trilogy and story line, but Disney wants to build a new foundation for the NEXT generation of Star Wars lovers. What George Lucas did with Star Wars over the years (as a whole) is amazing in the grand scheme of things. The story, the ideas, the characters, all of it. In the big picture, George Lucas brought to light what we all know and love today. As much as I still enjoy what Star Wars "is", I am excited now for what Star Wars "will be" rather than a "was". Star Wars needs to be given new life to continue on for the next generation of Star Wars fans. Sure, they still have to hold on to the fans that currently keep the Star Wars Universe alive, but they also have to build for the future. Disney is making smart moves to instill new life into Star Wars, which will serve as the BASIS for new projects later down the road i.e. video games, spinoffs, comics, etc. I know a lot of you are resistant to change, but this is the right time for it to happen. We've already seen the video game scene for SW kind of take a dive and maybe this new foundation will serve as a re-birth to these projects in the future. Maybe not now, but as the new movies start to release and bring in new Star Wars fans and possibly bring back old Star Wars fans. Just embrace the change and stop making judgements about what Disney is doing before anything has really happened yet. Jumping to conclusions isn't going to do anything but upset you. My two cents.
  8. It was an unintended game mechanic. Period. They enabled Double EXP for the reason of leveling faster. Be grateful? Actually complaining about Double EXP not being enough to where the Ilum boosting should be left alone too? Lol.... In a perfect world, where everyone reaching 50 knew exactly what they were doing for raids and PvP, I would be okay with the Ilum boosting. However, LOW levels are using this to boost their characters all the way to 50 just because they are too lazy to level through the right way. Not just low levels, I mean low levels who have no clue about game mechanics / class mechanics / etc. They are getting to 50 and just polluting end-game content, both PvE and PvP with absolutely no clue on how to use their associated toon. There are more than just people who "don't want to level an 8th or 9th toon". Stop being so narrow minded. There ARE people using this like an exploit to get to 50, where they have no business being there. Sorry, I'd rather not have people running around in Level 40+ end game content without a clue about how things work. Not EVERYONE knows what they are doing in an MMO and some are just using this to level for the hell of it. It's not right and it should be patched.
  9. This doesn't make sense. The original story (Episodes 1 through 6) were all about the Skywalker family. They are the heart and soul of the movie story lines. They NEED to be in the movie, to a certain extent. Sure I can agree that new characters and new life need to be introduced, but the Skywalker legacy must be in the movie to set up those new characters and content. It simply cannot be done any other way. I'm all for new story, new characters, new content, etc. but the Skywalker legacy must be included to at least "pass the torch" on to these new characters or at least build into the new story. Can't do these movies without it, which is why I'm glad they've got Luke and Leia coming back as well as Han Solo. They need to be the foundation to set up the next set of characters.
  10. I'm going to attempt to play both sides of the fence on this one. That is my opinion and I shall stick to it. The whole "expect adults to be adults" argument is absolutely ridiculous. Although, I do understand where all of you are coming from. Adults should be expected to act like adults and take responsibility for their own actions. However, this is not a perfect world. A lot of adults do not take responsibility for anything, even though they are considered of an adult age. This is just as ridiculous as telling a child not to touch that big, red button and then walking away expecting them not to touch it. People of an adult age are not necessarily going to be adults, period. No matter which way you slice it, a large portion of the world does not take responsibility for anything that should be their own matters. Expecting adults to be adults is just not feasible. On the other side, I do agree that in this kind of business model, just like a lottery purchase or going to casino, REAL cash should be the only currency accepted. Sure, it won't alleviate a gambling or addiction issue but it will alleviate it through not allowing someone to continue to go further into debt by purchasing these items with credit cards (pay it back in a month cash, not actual cash). I would support a debit-card and/or pre-paid card for these kinds of transactions (Cartel Market). I do not support putting limits on what you can buy, just HOW you can buy it. At least once the money is gone, it's gone. It's not like you can go out and sign up for another credit card and continue to dig an even deeper hole. I mean, what's it going to hurt? I'm sure everyone who has a credit card probably has a bank account and a debit card that comes with it. You're just going to spend the money up front, rather than later. If you don't have the money now, it's probably better that you don't spend the money. This is in fact, being an adult as many of you have said, correct? At least this will stop young children, young adults and older adults from taking a card based on credit and purchasing items with it. Just my two cents.
  11. Exactly. However, Eric posted and said they are turning off Ilum boster as a temporary fix. So they will get minimal EXP gains even in a group. Should slow down people getting to 50 without a clue about playing Lvl 50 warzones.
  12. Ah. Oversight on my part. Just a troll then, lol.
  13. To be honest, it's probably a result of the Double EXP/Gree Event issue that's been happening on Ilum. I've seen threads of people saying they are getting to Level 10, shuttling/using a pass to get to Ilum (bolster applied) and then power leveling to 50. This would result in severely under geared and inexperienced 50s, clearly people that were too lazy to reach 50 the right way in the first place. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I know they are turning of bolster on Ilum in the next fix to try and help remedy it.
