  1. I'd rather no legacy wide features at all. too many cans of worms ready to pop.
  2. Not so much a hater as a stirrer, and I made a post in this thread the first day it was made, calling you all looneys.
  3. I didn't say that is the way it is, this is the way it needs to be for a rock solid balanced outcome. As soon as you make it so a piece of gear alters the bolster, it will be gamed as its always been from day one, or it will be broken as it has always been from day one.
  4. This post is still going! Booo for Quinn. But, I do love that suit, so yes please, I do want to look dapper when going to the nightlight event.
  5. This sort of mixing and or using different types of gear to get the maximum and sometimes un-break bolster has been there since the day bolster was introduced to the game. People have repeatedly told them how to fix it, but they are unwilling or unable to do it, and that is if you are not at the max at the time(248 atm) you have a fixed and unchangeable stat, one tier below the max, regardless if you go in as a naked level 15 or a lvl 70 with full set of 240, and nothing you wear or are not wearing will alter that.
  6. True, I have no problem with it. In a tech forum that I was mod of for 5 years or so, warnings and infractions were handed out for making new threads that covered old topics., so nercoing, as some call it was encouraged so the relevant info was much easier to find.
  7. Wow, Sept 2012 thread My opinion hasn't changed from when I first replied in this thread back then, Corellia. While the setting and atmosphere is ok, the pathing is what drove my intense dislike of the place.
  8. If it were a new IP space themed MMO, I would be giving it a go for sure, It wouldn't matter the studio. I either like something like this or I don't, and in this particular case, I immediately switched off as soon as I found out what it was, ages ago. Who is making it didn't come into the equation in that decision for me.
  9. There is an outfit and weapon that are close, but for the face, you're not going to get remotely close I'm afraid, his face is totally custom built and so different to any options available to us.
  10. An interesting thread to be sure. I'll start by saying, for newer players, there's a ton of content, that cannot be argued, and any thoughts and comments from them will differ greatly from the vets, especially day oner's. As for recent and upcoming content, they started to turn that around, but like a massive cruise ship and the like, it takes a very long time to swing it to another direction, this is just a simple fact, no matter the studio, and in that time a lot of people jumped off, not prepared to wait. The constant debates about the type of content are quite silly and unproductive, as any concentration on a singular type of content will be the downfall of any of these types of games. The undeniable fact is, they need x amount of players here to be financially viable to warrant further investment, now you can argue all day whether that is a sound way to run a business or not, but again, its a pointless discussion here, as the people in charge of that, you wouldn't even know their names and they certainly would never visit these boards. You must have new and frequently updated repeatable content, this is the core foundation that this model of game is built on, without it, its impossible to retain players, now to be fair, it could be non repeatable if the release cadence of that type of content was frequent enough, but that is impossible, even for a billion dollar company with a massive crew like Activision/Blizzard, so repeatable content is simply a must and is a part of building up your character and giving you a reason to log on regularly as a result of said content. Now this usually comes in the form of daily areas, events, flashpoints and raids, so as to cover all the different types of group and solo players. 2.0 and 3.0 gave us all this in spades and the game was so much healthier, then 4.0 came along, and while there's always a drop off after any expansion, the drop off after 4.0 was not only much faster, it was huge, and I dont think its stopped since, continually bleeding players as the games focus change to story was not as well received as they had hoped by a large portion of the player base. As I stated at the beginning, they started to right the ship, but some think its too late, that too much damage was done for the game to be viable anymore, I have no idea if this is the case, its hard to predict without more info, especially what 6.0 has or doesn't have.. A meaty expansion like 2.0 would inject a lot of life back into the game, but will we get something like that? One thing is for certain, they really need to change this information embargo they have been doing for the past few years, it doesnt work, its not wanted nor needed and only sews discontent in a large part of the playerbase. Some have said they don't want to be held to any info that may not transpire, bollocks, there are ways to drip info out that leaves the studio covered, but builds trust and anticipation in the playerbase, and for those that can't accept that, screw them. We've had far worse infest the forums than a few idiots that cannot understand what the words "would like", "want to" and "maybe" means.
  11. There are far better and easier ways to solve these problems. Adjust spawn timers: something they do from time to time. Change the main objective from a spawn to a clicky item: Another thing they have done to some open world missions. Things they could do: Make it so the items themselves are instanced: A lot of games do it this way, the enemy or object that's visible to you is only visible to you, and this also works with gathering nodes, each one you see is your own. Guild Wars 2, the way they deal with enemies and bosses out in the open world, in that as long as you get a few hits on them, you get the acknowledgment and loot from it.
  12. Personally, I don't, nor have I ever have used any companion other than one of the original 5 on all my chars, im not interested in the achieves as they dont reward anything, and obviously you have to use some of the blow-ins during the story, but that's it. I bought and legacy unlocked Treek pretty well when released as she was useful to fill the crafter/mission slot while having your own companion out for combat duties. As far as collecting them, all but a few have been thrown at us, so meh, its not so much collecting as amassing them. If I actually had the choice, I would delete every other companion from my list except the original 5, treek and the droid.
  13. I remember well a couple of months after 2.4, late 2013, and there were regularly 15+ instances on Kass, and much higher on the weekends, 20+ wasn't uncommon on Harbinger.
  14. I will add for the people that were not around for the pre/post change in ESO, All these things were all added after the model change and continue to add perks to sweeten the deal for subs, including the sub amount in their store currency(which would be around 1600CC a month here) so if you're a regular user of the store, you could nearly equate that to a free sub. They were all added as sub perks, not removed from non subs, nothing was removed unlike here.
