  1. ~~ Couldn't agree more. The VO is really cool the first time you go through the game, and also cool for class stories you haven't seen yet. However, after you've been through the game once, all the non-story cut scenes just feel like they are in the way. ~~
  2. ~~ Same here. I play a lot, but I play a lot of different characters and take my time with them so Rest XP is a large contributor. When I'm not playing one, they are always logged out in a Cantina or on the Fleet. I never had any issues with any planets. Almost always have green/grey missions left at the end of a planet. Doing the occasional Warzone also bumps that up a bit. ~~
  3. ~~ Something I see a lot of developers do is over-do things when they change class mechanics/damage instead of slowly incrementing them. I've never understood that line of thinking. It's better to adjust something by a few percent and not have it quite where you want it, than to change something by 10+ percent and have it be overpowered until the next patch. ~~
  4. ~~ A large amount of engine optimization and re-tooling. Dead things actually having 0 health and dying when they are dead. Reduce/eliminate hitching when mounting/engaging combat/opening paper doll. Framerates that don't go from 12 to 111 FPS on the same machine with the same settings. Doing something with global cooldowns so half the classes don't feel like "BOOM some damage! Wait...Wait....BOOM more damage!" ~~
  5. ~~ I hear ya OP. The thing that drove me away from ToR after my first 2 months (and probably will again) is lack of non-group content things to do. Well, that and the clunky engine anyway. ToR IS missing the little things that keep people logging in outside of high-end combat. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what I would want added, but many of the suggestions given are a good start. And a card game would be cool. People from SWG didn't like it, I think, because the card game gave away item cards you could buy and sell. Thing is, ToR doesn't currently have anything to give away in loot cards anyway. Just a simple TCG you could play in-game would be awesome. ~~
  6. ~~ Not to mention a repair-free way of making some extra credits. ~~
  7. ~~ Their main time they post is because their servers are located in that time zone (Texas, USA I believe?). Just use this here calculator to see when 2 a.m. their time is in your time, then adjust forward and backward if they do it earlier or later. I've had to do that for years when games post in GMT. I just remember when normal maintenance is for me and, if i see a different time than normal, I already know how much earlier it is. http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc ~~ EDIT: Hmm, i don't see CET on there, but it's the same as US-Central.
  8. ~~ My load times were long to begin with, but seems like they've gotten significantly longer after a month or two of not playing. Little hiccups all over the place still suck too (mount/dismount, open character pane, etc). Shall we add in the fact that if i close the game from the task manager, it closes immediately, but if i quit via in-game methods, it stops responding for like 2 minutes before it finally closes? ~~
  9. ~~ I still have one sitting my bank from leveling, just waiting for the day the remove the 'requires a double bladed lightsaber' restriction. It's funny 'cause the only one that I think it's on for darkness is Discharge. Which....isn't even...a....weapon attack... ~~
  10. ~~ That's just typical Warzone wonkiness. It's the same kind of thing that makes maul unusable when you're clearly behind the target. The game just can't seem to handle that many players at once playing that fast so weird things happen. ~~
  11. ~~ You're definitely gonna have to go out and do non-story missions to keep going. Just find a world in your level range, land, and start grabbing missions until you feel strong enough to continue on the story ones. When you hit a wall, go do it again. ~~
  12. ~~ I actually did most of my leveling to 50 as Darkness. I knew that, of the 3 specs, I wanted to know Darkness best. It's easier to slid into a DPS role at 50 than it is a tank spec. Learn how to use Khem's taunts in order to split agrro back and forth to keep you both alive as long as possible. Don't just let him tank the whole time and die (or you!). Split the damage over the course of a fight and it's like having a 2nd health bar. I did spend some time with Madness, but the slightly increased killing speed did not make up for how much defensive capability I lost. It's a fun enough spec, though, and I did like it for the 5 levels or so I leveled with it. Deception? Never really bothered with it myself. ~~
  13. ~~ It's sad too because it has got to be my favorite skill animation we have. Oh well, I took it off my bars a loooong time ago to free up space. *shrug* ~~
  14. ~~ Wow, that IS pretty bad. Not only is it comical the way the masks move with their faces (lol jack o' lantern teeth), but the headgear doesn't even look like it's supposed to go with the rest of their outfits. ~~
  15. ~~ Things have changed since I leveled, and this isn't really an answer but: I was Darkness until about your level (35 I think actually), then tried out Deception and Madness for awhile, then went back to Darkness somewhere around 40-42. After you get the healing companion, Darkness is pretty easy. You'll hear some differing opinions on how to play it before you get him. Some prefer a high-dps companion while you hold the mobs, but I stuck with Khem and learned how to use his taunts to ping-pong aggro pretty well. Basically gives you his whole health bar as a 2nd health bar for you if played well like that. Like I said, that probably answered nothing for you, but hope it helped heh. ~~ EDIT: Oh! The biggest 'game-changer' talent is Harnessed Darkness. Think it's one row down from the top talent (Wither)? Once you get to the top of the tree, things become quite easy.
