I would like hover over targeting, i find it helps healing incredibly!

I live on the west coast but I work during the night time, usually going to sleep around 9 to 11 am. The server I am on is usually dead during my "day". Should I try going to a more populated server or would it be better if i tried playing on a server in Europe, would prefer a republic dominated one.

Is there a button i can hold or press so when hovering over gear instead of the gear being compared to what i have equipped it would instead compare it to what my companion has on?

Wasnt sure where else to post this question. I like how the electostaff looks unfortunately it doesnt hold much use for my shadow jedi. I have the proficiency to use it but many of my skills require double sabers. Are there any classes or even companions that make use of this weapon or is it somehow a useless type.
