  1. I was having trouble with Windows 10 so I did a fresh install, which meant re-installing SWTOR as well. I used install discs first, then when the original launcher wouldn't work, I downloaded the fix launcher from the website and it downloaded all updates and the game works, but only if I load it each time by opening the fix launcher.exe that I downloaded (there is no fix launcher.exe in the SWTOR folder which I thought there was supposed to be). If I try to just launch the game from start menu, it loads the old/original launcher. So basically, the only way to play game is to launch the fix launcher.exe every time. Not a big deal, but I don't want it to cause any problems, plus my computer sort of freezes up while launching it. I DO NOT want to do a fresh install because updates take forever. Any way to fix it so the normal launcher updates and loads using the start menu?
  2. Better crafting, more schematics for all trades. I like my main character being an artifice, but they only give ugly and unpopular color crystals schematics to artifices, while 90% of crystals, lightsabers, and other gear is only available from the cartel market. I think the cartel market and systems like it in MMPORPGs ruing the gameplay. It would be much more interesting if most of the economic aspects of the game (gear, armor, etc.) was reliant on the players, rather than have to spend real money on getting the best gear. I know they need to make money, but if paying for the expansions meant they'd scrap the cartel market for having players craft everything, I would gladly pay $20-$30 for each expansion.
  3. I've been getting disconnected from the server periodically the past couple days. I'll be able to play for an hour or more without incident, then have several hours where I can't stay online for more than a few minutes. It's been happening a lot the past few hours. I just got disconnected while a cinematic scene was playing, then again while trying to go through it. Now I have to keep playing through the responses over and over until it lets me on long enough to get to the next level...
  4. I could be wrong, but I thought I got that as a reward during my Jedi Knight's main storyline.
  5. I've been a paying subscriber since early access, and while I understand the need to make money through the cartel market, I'm afraid that this will be the end of new content in the game that isn't associated with this new pay-for-items system. As an already-paying subscriber, I expect them to add more content to the original game before the cartel market. It's interesting that there is an explosion of new items for use in the game, and you have to spend real money for them, and the ones worth paying credits for on the GTN are only affordable by the super-rich.
  6. But in the youtube video, Kathleen Kennedy says, "We're in the midst of the really fun part of the process; we're sitting down with a couple or writers and we're STARTING TO DISCUSS IDEAS"
  7. I'd bet on them changing the release to 2016, or even 2017. I just can't see how they're going to pull it off when apparently, they don't even have a script, lol. It will take at least 6 months to make a final script and acquire a director. Then there is preproduction (story-boarding, creating all the visual elements, etc.) and then casting, filming and the lengthy post-production. 2015 release is beyond optimistic...
  8. I remember being able to fish in SWG. You needed to get a fishing pole from the junk vendors, and when near water I think was used like an emote, although you could catch fish that would give you small stat buffs. This makes me think of how cool SWTOR would have been if it too was a sandbox type format. It's still great, but SWG was special...
  9. I disagree with your categories of gamers. I consider myself a "casual gamer" I know I'm not a hardcore gamer because I can't last more than 30 seconds in PvP lol. Although I still sometimes spend a lot of time in-game. I also only have 2 lvl 50 characters, and like I said, I am pretty helpless when it comes to PvP. I'm glad you can't buy credits, because then I'd probably spend too much money on them, lol.
  10. I would pay 1 mil credits IF the repair droid repaired my gear for free. But they call that a "credit sink" which is bogus because any players that have so much money they need some of it taken away from them will always have lots of money from hardcore playing anyway. So what it really does is punish the casual gamer, who doesn't always have 1mil credits in the bank.
  11. I'm more interested in why it costs 30k credits just to remove a crystal from my lightsaber. Go figure...
  12. I've been wondering about this too. I also remember them talking about how SCHEMATICS for new color crystals would be added to the game for Artifices to use. Fortunately, I purchased a Magenta crystal schematic from the geology vendor when it was available, as well as a purple, cyan, and white crystal. But I was hoping that schematics for those three would be available somehow after 1.2 like they had said, but that just didn't happen. I really don' understand why they'd promise new schematics for Artifices and only give us the +41 daily comms schematics of the common colors. Of course, there's the rumor that the PvP vendor's Class 6 PvP crafting materials box drops purple crystal schematics, but those have to be super-rare.
  13. When I found out that this game was set in the Old Republic, not in the movies' storyline like SWG was, I was pretty disappointed. But I realized it offered a more unique and vast storyline and creative material. SWG was limited by only what we already knew happened in the main SW story. Plus, in order not to alienate new players, they didn't really advance the storyline at all. The timeline was after ANH, before ESB, so you'd think that eventually they would let you play the Battle of Hoth (I know they did something like that, but bowed out before it happened) and incorporate ROTJ eventually too. But that would have been difficult to do, and then afterwards would be challenging to make new content to keep up. Basically, when it comes to SW TV shows, games, books, comic books, etc. the original trilogy has been done to death. Yes, it's what made us love SW in the first place, but you gotta let the SW universe evolve and bring in new things. Another SWG would have been boring because it's been done. Maybe years from now they'll give it another trym but right now I'm happy with the new content in SWTOR that I haven't seen before.
  14. Agreed! I remember the best looking armor I had for my Guardian was at like level 25 or so (I had med armor that was similar to the jedi from the loading screen). You'd think the higher-end pvp and commendations armor would look the coolest, but it's the opposite, lol. For some reason, some of the best jedi armor make your jedi look nothing like.....a jedi. Some sets don't even have any kind of robe. Troopers look like troopers, but the other classes (jedi most of all) have no sharp looking armor. For me it kind of ruins the "star wars feel" when the armor doesn't even look like it's form star wars. What I'd really like (for jedi at least) are just simple robest, different shades of colors; and some sets with armor incorporated into it, like what Obi-Wan wears in the clone wars series. He looks awesome with half-jedi, half-clone trooper duds. *I forgot to add that it's ironic that a lot of the NPC jedi characters have cool robes/clothes that are not available to wear in the game. Go figure.
  15. I don't get the benefit of paying 1mil for a repair droid that still charges you credits for repairs? That's the only reason I'd pay 1mil credits for. Are they going to fix this?
