Have played as a healer and want to play as a melee DPS for once as I tend to enjoy going up rather than staying back, but looking through discussions and Melee DPS is frowned upon for late-game PVE content? I have made a gunslinger just because of the reason above. Can understand the frustration as I have been able to stand behind the group and watch as lightsaber-wielding headless attack dogs pounce and fight an NPC who is blasting them with lightning and they refuse to move from that one spot indicating danger. Yet I don't want to go to the trouble of creating a character, enjoying them, and only to find out he will be cast aside for stabbing rather than shooting enemies.

Is the learning curve difficult especially if I hope to push into ops and heavy end game content? Whatever that may be. (I have yet to do any ops only hear about them.)

I am interested in taking on a Tanky role on the Pub side and really want this to be the main guy that I push into late Game PVE and such, but I have a few questions and hope this is the right spot for it as I am a virgin with tanking. 1. Do I stick to a DPS role then transition into a proper tank role at a later level? 2. Which tank performs best, Vanguard or Guardian when focusing on PVE and do tanks do well in PVP, or is that just full-on damage focused? 3. I have always been a healer in previous MMO's I have played in, so I am wondering if it is better to play a healer than a tank first. Does this change more towards the higher flashpoints?

I mainly am a healer in most MMO's but I came to grow tired of it, I tried going DPS but lack of a healer made me home sick and disappointed how my FP groups lost because of it. Tank is something I am also interested in, being the holder of the group and all, but I do not know which I want to main.. Healer, DPS, or tank (I am Sith) so my preferences are scattered, I don't know which I want to main. I like to get an opinion of how tank/dps work before I decide if I want to change roles or not.

I have no characters past level 40. (Alt aholic) trying to find a "Main" debating between Mercenary healer, murader, or tank juggernaut. Anyways. What is worth getting with my cartel coins? I do Rp/Pve mostly (searching for a Rp guild at the moment as well ) yes I am a subscriber. Any suggestions/options for me other than flailing the money around?
